AVOID Mutual of Omaha. The customer service is terrible, and is a horror to do business with.
I had Spot accident insurance for the ski season and got hurt. I went to the urgent care that same day, and was treated and released. I have been trying to get a claim paid for an urgent care visit back on March 16, 2023. Today is 10/9/23 and nothing is resolved. I have several back and forth emails with the rep, Luke, who is not only incompetent, but also does not let you finish talking before he begins to talk over you.
Specifically my dealings have been with:
Luke *** ****** Sr. Client Representative
Emerging & Strategic Solutions Special Risk
      MoO Moocon
Not only has he misinformed me in writing, it also never followed up or responded when he clearly knew he needed more details a than the itemized list of services on the bill.
I am beyond frustrated with his behavior and this company. This will be escalated through MoO and the legal system, until its resolved.

I have never had to jump through so many hoops just for my short term disability. I was taken out of work since 9/6 due to having issues with my C5, C6 and C7 in my neck.
Amazing that they need everything about you. I get they need medical records, authorization signatures and more authorization signatures.
But it amazes me that of course, they claim we didn’t receive a form(s) from either my doctors or me and they need
more authorization signatures. So I have to get someone to drive me around to get them everything they need. Now that they received everything, it now has to be reviewed and reviewed and reviewed again which takes weeks to months.
My bills, food to eat, medication, co pays for therapy and doctor visits is now at the mercy of Mutual of Omaha and a “claim specialist” who well… when they get to your claim, they get to it. You try to reach out to your claim specialist and of course no luck most of the time…go figure. But when I finally did get ahold of my specialist, she was very short with me and rude. I was bothering her and I was told she will let me know when it’s completed. Well thank you!!!! Sorry to bother you.
My short term disability isn’t a lot of money and by the way that’s part of my benefit through my employer.
I’m hungry Mutual Of Omaha, I wondering if the CEO of your company can send me some money so I can eat?

They have to be one of the worst companies out there. They charge high premiums & make every excuse not to pay anything. I wish I had read about them b4 I did anything with them. They lie to you & even if u were the only insurance & then u got a 2nd one, they claim the other is the primary & they won't pay what they should. To say they suck is an understatement.

I would like to give a fair review of the products and the morality of the company... Overall, it is helpful for the sake of the medical coverages for those having to utilize Medicare. HOWEVER, those who are advanced in age and signed up for the long term care benefit are essentially being ripped off, as, unless they are nearly totally bedridden, they do not allow you to utilize your benefit. Which is terrible if you have been paying into the program for 25 years to the tune of $500 per month. Someone in their 90s, who hires a nurse to assist with home care, medications, etc., should qualify. To deny them the benefit at such an advanced age because you don't deem them to need it is to simply be scamming the elderly. Shame on you, MOA

This company is so untrustworthy and will never receive my business or anyone that will listen either. I cancelled my policy a year ago and I stated I needed to cancel my husband and my policy. Was lead to believe it was taken care of.....nope they are STILL taking payment where I now need to dispute charges. The representative was no help and made many mistakes. Instead of asking for my last four digits of social she told me them and then asked if it was right?!?! She then started talking about my policy only to then tell me it wasn't my policy and I couldn't do anything about?!?! I guess I got a new hire.

I purchased a 15,000 Life insurance policy (in the state of Texas) for my mother in 1992. ( My mother is 91 now) I've paid a monthly premium of $53.85 since, up until July 2023. The total premiums paid out was over $ 19,000.00 dollars; the accumulated cash value was a bit over $10,000.00 . I chose to surrender the policy after July 2023. I completed the Surrender Request form; sent it via fax; however, I made a mistake and had to resubmit the Request August 7 2023. To this date, Mutual of Omaha company has not mailed out the accumulated cash value check. When I call to inquire, I have gotten excuses ranging from: "it takes about 10 business days from when you submitted the request - I phoned the company , yesterday, the excuse "the delay is that we had to check to see if your mother "OWED Child support". I have also filed a complaint with the Texas Department of Insurance.

Mutual of Omaha have recently began sabotaging my business involvement as an insurance agent. I have been a licensed insurance agent for over 30 years and have been an independent insurance agent with Mutual of Omaha for roughly 10 years. They are now trying to steal my book of business so they manufactured problems with some of my insurance clients, and my IMO's. I have also had many unprofessional experiences with account executives which I’ve ignored and endured in order to maintain professional relations. In example, I was prevented from accessing my complete book of business. However, MOO latest actions are even worse and show’s a level of deception unprecedented by any company I've worked with. They have blatantly lied to my policy holders about refunds and other issues, and have lied and blocked me from receiving commissions (money) that I earned from sales. They also have a history of racism which I've noticed through my own experience. Despite the many complaints, Mutual of Omaha and is now more concerned with creating the largest building then providing professional service to clients and agents! This is how they show appreciation to the vast policyholders and agents responsible for developing the company!

I’ve had a term life insurance policy for 17 years, I am currently in an ALF and need extra money to support my living.
So I called to surrender policy and cash it out.
I have done this with all my life insurance policies and received their checks within 7-10.
      NOT Mutual of Omaha!!!!
I was told 10-15 days I would receive my check.
Well, I keep calling and told it’s being processed, then check was placed in mail, and it’s now 23 days and still no check.
When you call the 800 number you are routed to individuals who are working from home and they sound as if I woke them up from a nap!!!!
Arrogant and condescending about reviewing my claim.
Please do yourself a favor and buy a policy from Colonial Penn, AARP or Aaa. They have all processed my claims within a timely manner!!!
Holding my breath for this check!!

I placed a loan on a policy on July 24, 2023. On July 27, 2023 I received an email stating that I needed to resubmit it due to an error on the loan application. I resubmitted it and when I didn't hear back. As of August 15, 2023 we have not received any check and I am responsible for a loan. I call Mutual of Omaha I get a different excuse each time about the check being in transit, being told to wait until Friday to do a stop payment and today that they had "weather" in the midwest which may have caused a delay in the mail. I have paid on this policy faithfully every month and do not understand why the check has not been sent and it is almost one month. If something happens to my father, who is insured, I do not trust that this company will pay. Total crap!

We have a whole life insurance policy with Mutual of Omaha. We have had this policy for 33 years. Premuim has always been paid . In June 2023 received a letter stating that a payment of 354.81 would have to be paid by July 2, 2023 in order for policy to be effective.
Payment had been increased due to insufficient funds for cost of coverage.
Payment was mailed on 6/25/2023 by regular mail. Received a letter from Mutal of Omaha dated August 1, 2023 that payment was outside of grace period. Check was destroyed and would not be returned. Policy would terminate without any cash value.
I contacted Customer Service after receiving the letter stating that payment was received outside of the grace period. a reinstatement would have to be completed in order for coverage to continue. Customer Service advised me that yes it was cancelled payment was not processed until July 11 (after the July 2nd date) I discussed in length that I did not think this was fair. We had this policy for 33 years and no late payments . I personally cannot have any control of when payment is processed by Mutual of Omaha. My husband and I feel the reason for cancellation is not necessariy because of the processing date. It is due to the age of my husband ( age 72)
I contacted Mutual of Omaha again on August 11, 2023 ask to speak to a supervisor or Manager. I talked to Erin advised her of the situation. She put me on hold and said she discussed with someone else. She came back with same answer it would not be reinstated. We do not feel that we should do the reinstatement application ( which I sure because of age and medical ) it will not be reinstated. Since it was not processed until July 11, 2023 by Mutual of Omaha and I mailed payment in a timely manner The policy should be reinstated with filing out the reinstatement application with us sending payment again that would be required.
