I listed my ******** ******** **** Destination Points with SELLMYTIMESHARENOW in late May of 2022 while I was residing in Chandler, Arizona. The sales reps (Angela) represented that ******** ******** **** Destination Points could be sold at that time for $10 per point ($70,000 for 7,000 points) and it was because of this representation, I agreed to list my units for sale for this value. I was also REQUIRED to pay an up-front fee of $7,992 BASED ON THIS PROPOSED SELLING VALUE.

Within this listing period I have received only two offers of $1,000 each for 2,000 points. Further, I have twice requested but have not been presented with any comparable market analysis that the suggested selling value of $10 per point, WHICH THE UP-FRONT FEE WAS BASED ON, is a legitimate value for these units. Based on the $1,000 offers I have received and the lack of substantiation for the company's suggested selling value of my units, I have concluded that the representative fraudulently misrepresented the selling value of my units to entice me to list with the company so they could collect an exaggerated up-front fee.

I found this company to sell my time share. A very friendly lady took down the information and told me that the cost would be $4300. She did not tell me that none of the money was refundable if I wanted to remove the time share from the market. A 10 day grace period is in the fine print of the contract but was never mentioned on the phone. I am out that money. I would never recommend listing a time share with this company. You must know that your money is NOT REFUNDABLE after 10 days. I would never use this company again!!!!!

I do not accept the business's response as a resolution to my complaint because:Because I wasn't told that my deposit was non-refundable after 10 days, I beieve that I should be able to get my deposit back. Just putting a note in the sale ad of the timeshare stating that I might take a lower price for it to improve sales is not acceptable.

My name is ****** ****** and I got a contract with SMTN, but changed my mind. The next day I called to cancel my contract. The representative said that I would receive an email between 24-48 hours but I have yet to get one. It’s way past 48 hours and when I call now the phone number is either busy or they don’t pick up. This is very unprofessional. I just want my 500$ refunded. This seems like a scam! I don’t understand why it’s so hard to get in contact with your customer service. The actual agent I was working with is no help at all. He called me everyday up until I purchased but can’t seem to help me get a refund! He gave me a number to call that’s always busy. On the email it says you can call a number but when you click on the number, it changes to another number. Neither number reaches them! I’m also coming up on my ten days so it seems like they are trying to wait til the ten days pass so they won’t have to give me a refund.

I was grossly misled by the SellMyTimeshareNow when I decided to list my timeshare property with them in April 2022. They said the average price for my Marriott Aruba timeshare was about $28,000 which is what they recommended for listing. I started at that and got no inquiries for several months. I gradually dropped the price down to $6,000 after getting no offers. I eventually got two offers, one for $1,500 and one for $3,000.

Had the agent told me what the real going price for this type of property, I wouldn’t have paid $2,000 to list with SMTN. The agent significantly exaggerated the price to get me to sign up.

I am attaching the subscription agreement indicating the $28,000 price they suggested and the two offers I received.

On 2/24/23 I paid $3598 to Sell My Timeshare Now (SMTN) to list my property at Westgate Williamsburg that I wished to sell. I was promised that my Timeshare would be listed on multiple sites and platforms worldwide to find a buyer and any maintenance fees come due on my unit SMTN would pay it. A little over a month later, I contact SMTN for an update. I only saw 1 ad for my property listed on their website. I searched multiple websites and found nothing so this is why I'm calling. I got a rep named Peggy on the phone. She clearly got frustrated with the questions I was asking and began to get snippy. I asked her, besides this SMTN website, where else is the property listed. Peggy clearly stated she did not know. I'm again asking repeatedly, how do you not know where it's listed? Your a rep of this company and should be able to answer such a simple question. Peggy wanted nothing else to do with me an actually put me on hold and left me there. I hang up, call back, finally get Mary M***** on the phone who claimed to be a manager. I asked her where is my timeshare being marketed and advertised and she told me the SMTN website. I asked where else is it being advertised as per the contract. Mary did not have an answer for that either. I asked if the maintenance fee due April 1st was paid, it was NOT so at that time, I requested a full refund of my $3598 because they breached the contract and I got nothing I was promised. She told me she would "see what she can do" after meeting with her management team and gave me her direct # to call her for an update. The next day, I call back the number Mary M***** gave me. No answer, No callback. I find another # and call again. I get Peggy on the line again. Asked for Mary, she's not available. I asked for an update, Peggy puts me on hold, and says can they get back to me next week? No, that's unacceptable. I told Peggy I would file a complaint with BBB and she told me " you BETTER NOT do that or we will not help you" THREATS NOW?

We appreciate Mr. ****** reaching out regarding his concerns. After thoroughly reviewing his claims and his interaction with our business, there are inconsistencies between his statements and our records. We are able to confirm that while SellMyTimeshareNow did create an advertisement for Mr. ******’s timeshare, we did not receive any funds for Mr. ******’s subscription with us. We have verified that we created an advertisement for his timeshare that fully met the requirements of our contract; however, we are unable to provide a refund or any reimbursement as we have not received a valid payment and, as such, Mr. ****** does not have an active account. Considering these factors, SMTN considers this matter to be resolved.

I do not accept the business's response as a resolution to my complaint because: I have proof that you took $3598 out of my business account and failed to provide proof of advertising. I submitted a claim to my bank so obviously you were paid. How about how many times I called asking questions and no one wanted to deal with me and just don't answer calls or emails? I signed a subscription agreement with Sell My Timeshare Now (SMTN) on November 15, 2022. I paid $2,498 for that subscription to have them list and sell my timeshare (a condo) at Club Tahoe Resort in Incline Village, NV, on Lake Tahoe's North side.

After my ad went live, I searched for it on their website. I could only find it if my search terms were "Club Tahoe" and "Tahoe." It was not listed if I searched for Lake Tahoe or North Lake Tahoe.

My first communication with them about this, as you'll see in my timeline documentation attached, was on November 29, 2022. Then, I tried to get the company to include my ad in those search parameters.

On February 6, 2023, the first and only response I received from Customer Care said that they could not change the resort name or location. That is not what I'm trying to do. Club Tahoe is the resort, and it should be listed as that. But buyers searching for a timeshare in Lake Tahoe won't know to search for "Club Tahoe" as it is a small resort in a tiny town. Also, buyers from outside the area might not just search "Tahoe" since that is shorthand used by people who go there frequently.

Since Club Tahoe Resort is in Incline Village, NV, which is on the North side of Lake Tahoe, it is logical to be able to search using both North Lake Tahoe and Lake Tahoe. Without those search options, the ad for my condo goes unseen. Essentially, I have paid $2,498 for a worthless ad.

At this point, SMTN has done nothing to assist me in selling my timeshare in the last six months. I have asked for a simple solution to a search engine issue, and I have been ignored, pushed off, and talked down to, all because no one will make this change to my advertisement.

Attached is a communication timeline, my emails with Jason Schenerlein, and my emails with Customer Care.

    Complaint: ********

I am writing to address Sell My Timeshare Now's (SMTN) response to the BBB regarding this complaint.

I was in Mexico on April 25 – 28, so I initially missed your latest communication on April 26. However, as you'll see below, I was waiting, in good faith, to respond as it appeared SMTN was perhaps going to resolve this issue.

I filed this complaint against SMTN on April 4. You received it on April 5 and forwarded it to the company. As of April 15, you reported that there had been no response from the company.

Due to their lack of response, on April 17, I filed the following:
    Report number ********* with the FTC;
Submission ID ************** with the Attorney General of New Hampshire; and
A complaint (no number provided) with the Attorney General of Florida.

SMTN replied to my complaint on April 26: "Our Customer Solutions team is actively working with Ms. ******** to review her advertisement and our website's search functions to resolve this matter." That was false information.

I did receive a voicemail message from "Donna" in customer service at SMTN on April 26 at 12:06 pm. But, again, I was in Mexico. When I returned from Mexico and responded on Monday, May 1, an operator answered the phone. I told her that I had received a voicemail from Donna, and she had said to ask for someone in management. I was on hold for approximately 11 minutes and was then hung up on. I did not try again that day, choosing instead to research other potential next steps since I was continuing to get the run-around.

On April 3 at 10:03 am, I received a call from "Peggy" in customer service, who said they noticed they "missed my call." I told her they had not missed my call – that somebody had answered and I was hung up on. She acted like she didn't know why she was calling me, so I quickly clarified my issue. She was clearly prepped for the call because she responded to everything I told her I wanted to be done with my ad for them to fulfill their end of the contract. The problem for Peggy was that none of her responses were solid reasoning because they were easily rebutted with examples from their own website. She eventually told me she was putting me on hold to escalate this matter to specialized services (or similar title). When she came back on the line, she said she couldn't reach anyone but would pass this on to marketing and management and that I would hear back from management in 12-48 hours. It has now been 73 hours and 26 minutes, and I have not heard back from anyone.

This behavior exemplifies the same run-around I've had from this company since November. I am done playing their games and am no longer willing to honor a contract they have materially breached and want a refund of my $2,495.

    Sincerely,

    ***** ********

    Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********. I was contacted by Sell My Timeshare Now after the New Hampshire Attorney General's office contacted them about my complaint with them. They initially offered me $1,500 back of the $2,498 I paid for their services. I told them that was an unacceptable offer since they breached our contract. I was then offered a full refund and told I would get a document through DocuSign and once I signed that, the check would be mailed to me. The document was a non-disclosure agreement that stated they did not breach the contract. I refused to sign since that wasn't the case. After a few more phone calls, a check was mailed to me without my signing the NDA and it cleared my bank this morning.

Thank you for your help with this matter - the BBB is the only reason any of this got moving. I had tried and failed for 5 months to come to a resolution with them and without your prompting, I would still be trying.

    Sincerely,

    ***** ********

As has been noted by another complainant, we were also referred to SMTN by a lawyer. SMTN were reputed to have good success in timeshare sales.
Mike T********, executive consultant, guaranteed us that money we invested with SMTN would be returned to us, if our timeshare did not sell within a year. He assured us that there was about a 85% chance for success. We hesitated to commit because of previous negative experiences with other companies.
Mike then promised us a money back guarantee, even supplied us with a written addendum to the contract that stated “we were entitled for full refund of monies spent, if it was not sold by the end of the year.”
At year end, not one inquiry re: timeshare was received. We requested a refund of our investment. We made numerous calls to SMTN, and were referred to several other staff. Lastly, Mary M***** promised to follow up on our request. SMTN had all of the information necessary. Our written guarantee and addendum we received from SMTN was simply not honored.
Further phone calls and emails were of no avail. When we called, they would hang up on us, or ask to leave a message, but NEVER got back to us to finalize the request for refund.
Because of this experience, we absolutely do not recommend SMTN services to anyone. Be aware of lack of honesty and business ethics.
We still are hoping and waiting for a resolution to this matter.

In May/June 2022 my husband and I were considering selling our timeshare and reached out to SMTN, but then decided to wait. After a month of constant emails and calls, I finally answered. Etienne D**** made it sound as if they had all these offers from people looking to purchase timeshares at my resort. He started reading off all these dollar amounts and had it sounding as if these were the amounts that buyers were offering, as if we should be able to sell our timeshare rather quickly. We gave in and were charged $1998 for their service.
What a waste of money. Eight months later and not even one offer or inquiry. The only communication you receive from SMTN is suggesting you lower your price, which I've already done 3 times. If you try to make the ad more appealing, the changes aren't made.
This company is a scam. What they're pitching to you as "offers" from buyers are really the amounts people are trying to sell for.

On 2/7/2023, I paid $2,498 to Sell my timeshare now to sell my Westgate Timeshare. I spoke to
    Daniel P**** | Executive Consultant | sellmytimesharenow.com | Tel: ***** ******** Ext. ****
I was informed that they would set up my ad and start seeing offers within a day or two. Nothing happened. I gave it several business days and nothing...not one offer. So on 2/15/2023. I submitted a letter, fax, and email to cancel my contract. Pursuant to the page 5 (Timeshare Owners Right of Cancellation) in the attached Subscription agreement dated February 7, 2023, I exercised my right to cancel. Within 7 days of making the payment of $2,498.00, I received no offers for our Westgate Timeshare. Per the agreement, because this cancellation is within the agreed upon 10 days, my refund should be made within 20 days after receipt of notice of cancellation 2/15/2023. Since that submission, I called 4 times and the representative was to send me to the escalation unit and I kept getting voice mail. I left messages but have not received a phone call. I also sent four emails and I received the automated reply: "We have received your request and our customer care team will get back to you as soon as possible.
If your issue is urgent and needs to be addressed immediately, you can also call us at ***************" I would like for them to give me a refund for the amount paid of $2,498. I have everything documented including the contract and I submitted my cancellation within the contact timeframe.

On Nov 22 2023 I call a company called We Buy and Sell Timeshares. They said the timeshare I had is not of their interest but they referred me to Sell My Timeshare Now.com (SMTN). In fact, they simply transferred my phone call to SMTN. The gentleman on the phone was helpful and said they could definitely sell my timeshare, there is a high demand for it, etc. I paid $3,298 with a promise that we will sell your timeshare, allow 3 months. It has been 3 months. I call to follow up nobody picks up the phone. I can't get on my "owner's portal" account. I call the different numbers available, the same person picks up the phone and transfers me to a line that no one picks up. They scammed me out of my $3,298. I want my money back.
