I paid over $4000, late Summer 2024.I was promised they could sell quickly because of the location. I have reduced the price with no activity.The worst part is they used my points to book other ppl and Im paying for everyones vacation and Im not allowed to use my points,I have called numerous times, left numerous messages, especially for *****.I demand a full refund and my points back! Immediately.I guess my next step is to contact my attorney. I really believed them. I paid SMTN $3200 in January to list my timeshare.I agreed to such good deal because they promised me that they will cover the cost of my maintenance fee which is $1000/******* timeshare was listed immediately and no views or offers at all. I considered it at that time a loss.Then on July 31st, someone started calling me incessantly saying my maintenance fee will not be paid if I dont sign this agreement.******* called and emailed all day and I told her I was not comfortable signing any document without properly reading it. She said they will pay me my maintenance fee six months after I paid it but I have to provide them the username and password of my timeshare account.I did everything they asked me to do.Then, they sold my points for other people to use.Worse of all, they changed the username and password to my account.If not for facial recognition, I would have been locked out of my account. I had to call ****** to help me reset my password.This scam just keeps on scamming. They threatened to send to collection any amount I owe them!!They are the ones who owe me. I want my $3200 back! Now they are calling and emailing non stop. This is harassment! I want my money back and I dont want these people bothering me ever again.Everything they promised is a scam.Business Response

SMTN gives buyers 10 day refund period which does not allow purchaser to see if product even works since they have to upload info onto their site. Then they said a link via e-mail called a portal to check for offers. Then it will say U got an offer but they do not show offer when you hot details it says someone will ***********. They did not & when I called them numerous times they keep saying it is a llnot a legitimate offer. It is hopeless. Company needs toact professional & give more than 19 days for refund since there is no way to see if it works in 10 days. As a senior Product SMTN Resale Subscription with Title Fee Credit and Loyalty Program Payment $2198.00 is alot of money for nothing but a run around. A year or more ago I signed up for sale of a Timeshare to check the validity of this company because I was having a dispute with my Timeshare company. I put up the least of my 3 timeshares as a trial deed for sale for around $2000. A dispute with my Timeshare company resulted in a freeze of all access to my deeded weeks. This resulted in Maintenance fee build-up due to none access to my deeded weeks which this SMTN sale was to remedy. I received emails from SMTN stating there was activity around my other deeds, but the one I had listed was not good enough. I talked on the phone and they said my current $2000 listing was not good enough and they needed $6000 more to put my other two deeds up for sale which they were assuring was a much better chance of sale. I paid $5000 from Credit Card on 4/9/24 and $996 from Bank account on 4/10/24 to list these other 2 deeds. About 4 weeks after withdrawing the $5996 (which I had to borrow), I was informed that the my deeds were being foreclosed on and they could not be sold. I requested the return of the money due to these unusual circumstances and removal of the SMTN adds. Their response was that it wasn't their fault and they refused to return any of the $5996 they just took. I do not perceive this as a Better Business considering the extent they took to pressure me into an expensive ($8000) proposition (using both email and phone conversation) which I did not realize had no way to be carried out. I am only asking for a return of the $6000 which is not a viable proposition, has not been fulfilled, and cannot be carried out.Customer Answer

I was told documents were received to show foreclosure of some of the properties and this would be reviewed for return of some of the money from SMTN. Documents of the foreclusures are supplied at the speed and discretion of the Holiday Inn resorts and they take their time. This does not stop the freeze of the sales of the weeks in question. I was told SMTN would look into return of some of the money SMTN took based on the documentation already received, but I have not received any word back yet. This is still an issue.Initial Complaint

January 2, 2023 I contracted with SMNT to sell my timeshare. We paid $1,898.**** told us they would sell our timeshare, and we were given the valuation of $10,700. We were very surprised to hear that as the market didnt seem to indicate a selling price that high, but we were reassured it was fair market value and that we should have no problem selling. Beginning on January 23, 2023 and throughout the rest of the year, we contacted our agent several times to drop the price because we wanted to sell quickly. Each time we were assured that our property would very likely be sold within the next few months.On April 3, 2024 I spoke with a manager, ****, and asked for a refund. She asked me to give them 2 more weeks to aggressively sell the property. I called again on May 23 and only had an opportunity to leave a voice mail, which was never returned.To date the price on my property has been dropped to $6,000 and still has not sold. Now SMNT has a similar property listed for just $1,200. There is no way that my property was worth the initial suggested listing price of nearly $11,000. This is a SCAM. Had SMNT contacted me again to settle I may have. But this is immoral, illegal, and an outright deception. No one should be put through this. Service was sold a service that was to list, advertise and service our timeshare sale. No adjustments or maintenance has been provided by the company. They are basically telling me that I paid to take care of the listing and promotion myself.
