1 starNot even death can end your contract.. my mother unexpectedly passed in May 2022 (5 months ago today) and was the owner of our family plan through Verizon. I immediately called to see if I could become the account owner instead and it became such a hassle I just put down my credit card and figured Id deal with it later. They not only accepted my card but RAISED our phone plan rates per line by $10-15 each a month the day I made them aware she passed (including her line that is obviously not in use and I cant even cancel). Ive been blindly paying each bill without statements and an end in sight. I stepped into the store with a death certificate to change the account owner, was given a phone number to call instead. Called the number, was told Id get a call back. Chatted with an associate, was told I needed to call. I spent 3 hours on a chat being transferred between different agents before being ghosted at 9pm. Each time I spoke to someone new I had to start over with explaining my scenario and got no results. Someone actually told me I needed the account owners permission to transfer services even after I told them the account owner died. This has been the hardest time of my life and Verizon surely made it even harder by not working with my family to make the needed adjustments to our phone plan. I will for sure be switching providers as soon as Im able, even if I need a new number.Review fromKarina B

1 starThis is the worst company I ever went to for service. They way over charge for crappy service. If you call about an issue, they first try to sell you something before addressing the problem. I discontinued them 2 weeks into billing cycle and went somewhere else. Now I find out that out of of my $143 bill, they will only credit $24, not $70 which was half a month, giving me some BS story on how they calculate. **************** is awful as they read from a card and not listen to customer.Review fromerendira a

1 starI arrived at the store on Tuesday, September 27th to do an IN-STORE-PICK-UP for 2 phones. Nothing else, nothing more! I checked in with the **************** Rep named *********************************, who was currently assisting another customer at his desk. I showed him my I.D. and he told me to have a seat in the waiting area and he would look up my order. A few minutes later he asked me for my debit card on my account. I gave it to him along with my I.D. and he asked me to have a seat again. About five minutes later, he called me over to a table and asked me to sign to receipts. I saw the receipts were each for $110.24 for each phone. Total of $220.48. Let me just say he never told me he was charging anything; I did not give him authorization. I asked him what I was charged for and he mumbled that it was taxes on the phones. I told him I financed the phones and he mumbled something along the lines of with the cost of living and hardships at the current moment, he went ahead and cancelled my order and I paid the taxes at the store. That makes completely no sense to me!I left and called ***************************** said I shouldnt have been charged anything &that they couldnt even see the payments on their end. They opened up and investigation and were supposed to call me back Saturday at **** pm. When I got home I checked my email and I saw I had to receipts sent to me. They stated I got the each phone for 950 but was given 100% discount. So the phones were free! And I was charged *****n for Device Payment Promotion and on top of that Sales Tax at *****% which was ***** for a total of $110.24. Yet the phones are still financed on my Verizon account! So where are the free phones!why does the receipt he sent me not reflect what corporate is trying to get me to believe. Why does the receipt state that the phone was $950 with 100% discount and a fee of ***** with sales tax of ***** for each line. I got robbed!Review fromLouis G

1 starToo bad O stars are not available..Automated system does not provide adequate info.. Verizon used to be a good company. What happened? Customer chat is a joke and financial services is just as bad. After 1 hour and 30 minutes and being transferred to different departments,I was finally connected to a supervisor who supplied several alternatives in lieu of answering my specific inquires.Ifposed questions cannot be answered, they simply hang up. Easy out for incompetent reps.Easy solutionFIx it(not likely but wishful thinking)..And corporate greed continues simply because it canReview fromLois W

1 starI received a postcard offer to check out $25/mo wifi, if you qualify. I decided to check it out because I am paying quite a bit more for my present wifi. Big mistake! I talked to *** who checked my account and told me I qualified. She made it sound so good, but I did notcwantvto change without knowing if Verizon serviced my area (they don't). She offered a 30-day free trial, so that sounded good to me. She said the would mail the modem right away. Next morning I had about 5 emails congratulating me and the first one I looked at was a "receipt" for a $60/month charge for wifi. I immediately called and cancelled and accused them trying to scam me. I refused the *** delivery. A couple of days later I got my bill from Verizon which was $43 more than my normal bill. Checked and found they had added a new line with a different phone number. I called that number before calling them--a non-working number. I called again and did the chat. The guy seemed to understand, but asked me if I wanted to cancel. I told him he could do whatever he wanted with it--just get in off of my account because it is not mine and correct my bill. So far I have not received a corrected bill, but I am only going to pay the regular amount. Getting customer service from ********************** seems to be impossible. I have had Verizon over 20 years, but feel I am being scammed.Review fromSylvia H

1 starI have been a loyal Verizon Wireless customer for 26 years , even enduring their outrageous premiums and dismissive customer service. But at this point, I cannot stomach their deceitful practices in false advertising, defensive reps and non- responsiveness from the management, and inaccessibility to the corporation . Case in point-It was advertised that all customers( new or old) would be eligible for a free iPhone 13 upgrade. When I called, they stated that only certain customers with unlimited plans would have this option. This was not mentioned in the advertisement and was confused because I have an unlimited plan as well. I was searching for a good reason why I didnt qualify, but was not given a decent answer. I asked the rep for whom I believe their was a language barrier for assistance in management who was too busy to speak with me. I also asked for assistance in lowering my bill. She was not able to help me but stated someone would contact me. Was never knowingly called but there was a number with a local area code that I notice on a missed call but no message given. So maybe? Anyway, I find it incredulous that even after 26 years, no one could help. I asked about the programs for businesses, the first responder discount, the credit for new tech such as 5G, etc. I think Verizon is resting on their laurels due to having millions of customers, having better nationwide coverage than other carriers. But what they dont understand is that their competition is creeping up on them in theses arenas such as ******** for half the price. When I tell others with different carriers how much I pay monthly for a single line, old iPhone 7+with only 32 G- they think Im joking. And other carries have 24 hour service AND are nice!!!! I pay 100 per month. No extra bells and whistles. I dont know why Verizon is hiding behind the corporate chairs-making it difficult to voice a complaint but thats why Im here on BBB because theres nowhere else to post my complaint.Review fromPamela J

1 starThey'll lie to you and tell you whatever they need to get their sale & extra commission. But when you find out about the misinformation they won't do anything about it and send you in loops. The manager ***** at ******************************************************************** is especially bad. Trains his reps to deceive you, no customer service training.Review fromDerek W

1 starVerizon was doing a High Trade in Credit deal, Send in an older iPhone for up to $1000 trade in credit. So I called Verizon and verified this limited time special. I had two phones to choose from to send in that were Carrier Unlocked. They said they would give me $1000 for iPhone 12 or $800 For an Xr. Obviously i went with the Smarter decision and sent in the Xr being it was only worth 300$ or around that. So months later i see I still havent been credited. Called multiple times and They said i didn't file for that Discount or set up to receive the trade in Credit. Funny thing is my OTHER Lines sent in Xr, and 11 for the 13 Pro as well. So why would my line not have done the same deal. So i have been paying FULL PRICE on a 256GB 13 pro, and not only that the Xr I had forsale is GONE. so i lost the 800$ credit and the ** i could of sold for 350$. I called and called and called. They kept telling me a SUPERVISOR would call back. THEY NEVER CALLED BACK!!! I spent COUNTLESS hours NO JOKE, probably around ***** on the phone and never got the Problem Resolved and am still paying like 50$ a month instead of 12$ (w/trade in) for my 13 Pro.Review fromKarin W

1 starI wanted to save money and cut down on channels, customers service is inconceivable BAD! I could here the guy over the phone line. Static was everywhere, I heard one word out of ever small sentence. I could hardly understand. He text me what I am asking for. It is surprisingly correct. Then the next day they send me a Wi-Fi router and extender for no reason!! I wasnt calling about that! Let alone mentioning that!Review fromBecky M

1 starI got landline service end of July 2022. Paid up front for Verizon equipment. Repeatedly have been overcharged. I've only received 1 mailed bill. Paid in full. They keep adding late fees. Had my service disrupted. Spent countless hours getting this resolved. Keeps occurring, and it's only September 29! Keep getting assured everything is correct on their end regarding mailing address. Had dropped calls, bad service etc. I want my bills mailed to me. They add late fees even before I get the bill. ********* trying to resolve their mistakes. VERIZON SUCKS!
