This company is a scam, do not sign-up for this service! I filed my first claim regarding duct work after 4 months of signing and they keep on rejecting the claim even though it clearly says in the contract that it is covered. I wasted so much time following-up with these guys, very bad experience.

I bought a warranty 9/6/22. I called and spoke with my original salesman Sam at phone * *** ********, that star is a 9,at 1:51 pm on 9/9/22 and told him that I wanted to cancel within my cancel period because I did not feel confident in the business. Sam stated that I should give them a try and if I was not happy he would refund my $2100. He said I could use my own licensed contractor for repairs and it would be a $65 fee. The first time I tried to use the company, they told me I couldn't use my own contractor, so I said I want to cancel and told them what Sam said. I called Sam as I was on the phone with the company for a 3 way conversation, he hung up. Now they are wanting to charge me fees. I told them to go back and listen to the conversation.

I called for oven touch screen not working (claim#********), a technician scheduled a date after more than a week (my scheduled was Monday 8am-12pm and the technician scheduled on end of that week at 6pm), he requested a $75 fee as soon as he entered my house! he took pictures of my oven and unscrewed the display area then screwed them back while he was on the phone with next costumer! the whole thing took **** mins, and he said that i need to replace the touch screen. i asked him why a portion of display area indicated as "sabbath", i had no idea what sabbath means on oven display, he kept repeating himself that he knows what he's doing. after four day I called to get a status of my part, he said "no part" for my oven and it needs to be replaced. the select customer service notified me that they can not replace the part because the contract is under 60 days. then I start searching and try to troubleshoot and I found out the "sabbath" is a mode that can be turn off by pressing "back" key for 3 second. this illustrates that the technician has no idea, and no knowledge about an oven. I asked the select to refund my $75, unfortunately they do not care and i'm looking for a good/caring home warranty with at least knowledgeable technicians.

The initial setup is great, and they do a great job of selling the product . God forbid anybody that has to file a claim. Ive filed 2 claims in 3 weeks and have yet to to get anything fixed1st claim was a dryer issue and I the technician complained about gas prices and no fix. 2nd was an electrical issue and I have yet to here from anyone. Whenever you call you go from an ******** rep signing you up to a foreign rep that you can barely understand that dont really care if you get service or not. Wish I could give negative stars!! I should stayed with previous warranty company. SHW has great rates but you pay for it with quality. They seem to use a lot self employed contractors with 1 technician and thats a big problem as for as response times! After canceling my policy they try everything but ***** me what I want which is to cancel my policy. After finally forcing them to cancel, they charge me $75 termination fee. This company is a complete FRAUD and need to be exposed!!!

This company is the worst home warranty company. They denied my A/C claim without even looking at the pictures the service tech sent them. They initially deny each claim they receive until they come up with the fine print c*** My friend is a licensed contractor and licensed in commercial HVAC who services my AC every 6 months. But because I do not have any service records my claim is denied. There are several people that service their own units by friends that are in that profession. When you call you are not able to understand the representative. I assume they outsource to another country and their English is awful. I sent in pictures and was told it will be ***** more hours for them to review it. No need to review it, I can't wait that long. I should have kept my previous home warranty company as they were great, but SHW beat their price...I see why now. SHW should be ashamed of themselves for having me pay $75 for the initial fee plus $30 extra to have the tech come that day even though they knew the claim would be denied. They are all denied!!!! Just look at all the complaints that come in here daily from consumers. Shame on SHW. I had my friend come repair it for me and it was $18 parts.

I called this company out to repair an issue with my bathroom in the master bath. The tub is not draining properly and the handle to turn on the shower fell off in my hand. They stated that they could come out to fix the drain, but wanted an extra $200 to fix the handle that turns on the shower. When I called to cancel my warranty with them they now want to charge me a $25 cancellation fee, because I am cancelling before my renewal date. This is a bad Company! No wonder they have a B- rating and only 2 stars. They should be made to go out of business. They even refused to get me to a manager.

I purchased this warranty after having ******** **** ****** and being upset at having to talk to people overseas and repeat my problems over and over again. I was promised that Select Home Warranty was not that. I was also told that I had $500 for appliances. This company lives in a vague gray area. That is for the year total, not per appliance. They do not tell you that instead they send you a very vaguely worded, wordy contract after you have given them your money. My dishwasher was fixed in August (my complaint was in May) it took months to get the part and we were told that it would just short out again. I was never contacted or spoke to anyone from SHW, I just complained to people overseas and they told me the parts were on order. When the dishwasher shorted again early Oct. I waited 2 weeks for a repairperson. They never came, during this time I called over 10 times and repeated myself over and over again, I emailed only to be told to call and hit #5. This was a vicious cycle and a complete waste of time. It took filing a claim here to get a phone call from a man that I believe his only job is to not be helpful. You call him back and the machine says to email him (another vicious cycle.) When I got him on the phone he was beyond unhelpful. He just kept reading the vague contact back to me. At this time I learned that I had $500 per year for ALL appliances and that I used $375 to fix the dishwasher so I had about $125 to put towards a new dishwasher. I told him the repairman in May said it would happen again and I was never offered $500 towards a new dishwasher. He told me that if it was repairable that is not an option. I explained it was still repairable but it would happen again and this repairman actually acknowledged that so trashed it. He told me I has about $125 left to repair it with. This is a crazy game they play and they stonewall you. I had Channel 2 call them and email them with deadlines and they just never respond.

FRAUD!!!!!Believe me when I tell you that your ratings seen online must be fake! Select Home Warranty sold me a 3 year contract. Telling me all I need to do is pay a $60 call out fee and either my plumbing would be repaired or replaced. My first attempt for service was with a backed up sink. They claim in 48 hours, they will find a contractor service provider to come out. By 72 hours, this fake top rated company tells me they can't find anyone. YOU'RE A WARRANTY COMPANY? They authorize me to find my own plumber and then call them once they arrive, press option 7. They tell me they only pay for basic snaking which is $200. Isn't snaking just unclogging. If they couldn't find a plumber to do it for $200, what made them think in CA I would find someone to do it that cheap. Don't be fooled by the good reviews. They are made up. Also, the agents read from a script and won't transfer you to a manager. I have a contract and I'm out $495.

I just bought a new home and was exploring the idea of a home warranty. In order to get a quote, I had to give my information to Select Home Warranty. Right away they called and said I needed to act now or I would miss out on a sale. It expired at the end of the day, the agent said. The high pressure, act now approach was suspicious. I asked to first see the terms of the warranty. After determining it was not what I was looking for, I walked away. Yet I continued to get phone calls daily as well as emails. The agent who called was very rude. As soon as she realized I wasn't interested, she would just hang up. Her name was "********" but who knows if that's accurate. She has called multiple times and I keep saying I'm not interested and want to be removed from the call list. I have blocked phone numbers and also unsubscribed from the email. Yet they keep pestering me daily and use different emails and phone numbers. The business seems very shady and the way they act makes it feel like a scam.

I initiated my contract in April 2022. I filed a claim in July for my self-cleaning oven that wouldn't clean. They sent an old man on July 5th who had to read the manual before realizing he had to order a part. He called me to say he had the part but when I tried calling him back to schedule the repair, he never answered any of my voicemails or texts. I tried reaching him five more times between July 14th and August 12th; no answer. I called customer service and they said they would try to contact him. I asked that they re-assign this to a different contractor. That never happened. On Sept 12th I called to cancel my policy. *** was very rude and tried to convince me it was my fault and that he'd send me the money to find my own repair person. I said no and hung up. On Oct 7th I received my refund, but it was only half of what I was owed; they had deducted $416.53 because the contractor said he purchased AND INSTALLED the part in my oven. I called customer service back 4 more times. Each time they created a new case and said a customer loyalty manager would get back to me in 1-2 days. After not hearing from them again, I called today, 10/28, and was told that I would not be getting the $416.53 because the contractor submitted that he completed the job. I had pre-paid for 3-year coverage for $1,250 and am only receiving $485.03 as my refund. The whole thing is a SCAM!
