I've paid hundreds of dollars in EZ pass violations. My EZ pass is properly mounted on my vehicle and my license plate is also registered to my ********************** tag (MA EZ pass tag). Despite this, I get a violation probably every time I go through a toll in New Jersey. The violations have been going to an address that my car is not registered to and so that I'm unable to dispute them by the time they reach me.

Account Number: *************; I have had EZ-Passs for several years and have always had a card on file for auto refill. However EZ-Pass uses their own algorithm to determine how much they will take out of your account even if you do not utilize that amount in a month so I switched to prepay option. Then I began incurring these fees, which EZ-Pass would forgive and allow me to pay the toll instead. However now, I am told I reached the limit on fee settelements, and owe so much money nealy 400-600 dollars for tolls that I had been doing this same procedure for weeks yet no representative has ever mentioned that there is a cap to the amount of times that the fees will be adjusted, and now I am not being given the option to have the fees on my account to be taken off. I would have simply went through the cash lanes, and if unavailable, I would have gotten a receipt and mailed in the tolls. EZ-Pass is extortion at this point. I do not want my credit card charged what EZ-Pass believes in appropriate based upon an unknown algorithm of my usage, and I would like for all of my fees to be taken off of my account immediately. I will be calling "7 on your side" and all of the local News stations if I am put in a position where my license is suspended because I am disabled and cannot pay these fees.

NJ EzPass essentially took an auto payment on my account which caused my checking account to go into arrears and of course by proxy forced me to pay multi NSF fees at my bank. This organization, NJEzPass, essentially engaged in theft by deception (NJ Statute : 2c-20-4) by then charging me $10 in a very deceiving fashion. NJEzPass deceptively calls the $10 charge an "adjustment fee". NJEzpass, engaging in breach of duty of care, breach of duty of trust, and breach of fiduciary responsibility, charged a bogus fee for removing a bank card on an EZPass account auto charge that drove my bank account to arrears. Their customer service is non existent, their adjudication process is non existent, their only motive is to steal money via theft by deception from hard working EzPass holders. You can never trust an organization from which you can never get recourse. The only real option in this instance is to take NJEzPass to court. NJ EzPass owes $10 for stealing from my account and justifying that malfeasant behavior in no way shape or form. You will get zero customer service which addresses the real issue, you will get no resolution for the improperly applied "adjustment fee" , these liars do not even notify you that a fee has been taken... you would need to go through your account transactions to find this fee. NJEzPass engaged in criminal behavior and the application of bogus fees to my account.

      Email to NJEzPass below.

      That is false.

NJ EzPass forced my bank account into arrears by debiting my bank card with money still on the account.

There was no need for you to auto charge my bank.

      You can never be trusted.

You caused multiple NSF fees for me & bounced checks.

Of course, I removed the card... you are frauds that caused me a headache... & the bank account is closed.

You are scamming me for money for something you caused is disturbing.

I'll be complaining to the Better Business Bureau (where you maintain an F rating) first thing tomorrow morning.

I'm a NJ EZ Pass customer. Just like the other complaints, I have had a long and untrustworthy experience with this company. The most recent dishonest act from this company, is setting a limit of disputes customers may request in a year. It is not written on their terms of service, nor have we received a letter informing of disputes being limited to 12 per year. I only found out when I contacted them. The representative I spoke with admitted that the limits to dispute violations are not written in their terms of service. That it's a new policy not written anywhere. My concerns is that this is yet another scam from this company to rob customers. We already went down his road before when my husband was an EZ pass customer. His account was set up to automatically withdraw money from our bank account to our EZ pass account when it reached a low amount. Despite this account setup, we constantly received bills even after changing our tags multiple times. We had tags and yet, we were still charged with fees after fees until we no longer could keep up. In the end, his credit was ruined and we got stuck paying almost $1000 worth of violations. Living in **, we have no choice but to rely on EZ Pass. Now I have an EZ pass account and due to our history with EZ pass, I opted NOT to set up my account to automatically withdraw money. Instead, I manually transferred money from personal accounts to EZ Pass when it reached a low balance. If I would have known that there was a limit to dispute violations, I would have, reluctantly, set up an automatic account. I was told that I already reached my limit (again, the rep admitted this policy is not written anywhere) and now I'm concern that moving forward, when the toll doesn't read the tag, as it often does NOT, that we'll be right back in the same situation paying fees to no end in sight. My account has about $170 that will automatically replenish once low and tags are working properly. We should not have an issue passing the toll.

Last month, I had over $650 worth of fines from NJ *******. I am a PA EZ pass holder and I always have money in the account. NJ does NOT read my transponder and my $3 tolls turn into $30 or $50 fines EVERY time. They waived a few but now I am continuing to receive them and NJ tells me *** waived too many. I shouldnt be paying ANY! I have spent a lot in these ridiculously fraudulent fees and about to file a class action lawsuit because I can see that this is happening to everyone. My EZ pass works in **, ** and DE but I only have this issue with NJ, mostly at ******* route 1 bridge and anywhere near the ************. Trying to reach anyone is a nightmare also. My next step is to try small claims court to get all the money I HAVE paid back. This needs to be fixed! My transponder works!

My family has used nj ezpass for over a decade. Unfortunately, my dad passed away suddenly and the ezpass was under his credit card information. For awhile there were no issues, but apparently at some point, the credit card stopped working. Ezpass charged my family a 50$ administration fee every time they went through a toll due to the card mixup. We have called and paid the tolls but they will not waive the fee. They have sent my dead dad to collections. and they don't seem to understand or care that he is dead.

When I moved to a New York (from NJ), I contacted NJ EZ Pass to cancel. I was informed I did not need to cancel, but instead should simply opt into the NY State Bridge Discount. I was NOT informed I would incur a monthly fee if I did not meet the minimum of 17 trips.
Since the pandemic, I have not commuted to work and have been charged a monthly fee ranging from $16.90 to $23.80 each month.
Since March 2020, I have been charged $800.
Please note, there is no way to opt-out of the plan online.

Greetings, I am seeking an account adjustment with NJ EZ Pass. I never received any missed tolled notices…I only receive toll violations ( approx. $2000) from NJ EZ pass. NY EZ Pass sends the miss toll notice and allow for the opportunity to pay via my EZ pass at the discounted rate before issuing a toll violation). I In many of the miss toll violations my account was funded appears that the equipment did not read at all. Any help you can offer me in the matter will be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

I have nothing but problems with my EZ Pass Account for the last few months. I have a functioning EZ Pass tag in my car and there has been multiple times where the tag is not read. I have added my license plate to my EZ Pass Account multiple times over these past few months. I have called to no avail. Now I am being charged $50 administrative fee per violation. There should be zero violations since EZ Pass has been given my license plate number over 10 times and they still have fixed the issue. The Tag is working and I have rehung it multiple times. It seems to be a problem on their end not mine. I want a refund all of administrative fees as these fees have triggered automatic payments from my bank account that I was not ready to pay at the moment because I just put money on my account. My account number is *************
