This was absolutely the worst experience I've ever had renting a moving truck. One and only time renting from Budget, NEVER AGAIN. First they upgraded me at no charge from a 16ft to 26ft truck, barely made it to the last exit out of town and the truck was over heating and the loudest alarms were going off, the guy at the rental place said drive it back to us we will put you in the 16ft, didn't say park it we will bring you another vehicle, no instead I was put behind by 3 hours and inconvenienced. Barely left my second location and the check engine light came on with the second truck!! I contacted customer service, rude.... they put me in 2 faulty vehicles, inconvenience me and my moving crew, cost me $300.00 more due to holding up the moving crew and this is what was done.... we reviewed the contract we can issue you 10%back for a total of.....get this....$17.00.... The cost of the truck was $260.00....WOW BUDGET YOUR INCREDIBLY RIDICULOUS. One can only hope that no one dies due to the mechanical negligence of their vehicles.Budget Truck Rental

DO NOT RENT. FOR THE SAFETY OF YOUR FAMILY AND OTHERS.
My family and I moved across country and decided to use budget. When inspecting the truck everything seemed in order. 10 minutes into our drive the check engine light came on. Not to serious. 2 hours later I noticed that the passenger mirror was barely hanging on the truck. We had to tape it down for it to stay on the truck. Continuing the drive I noticed the car hauler trailer was having extreme on one of the tires. (Eventually later the tire completely breaks off from the trailer is held on by the brake cable.) A liter furher into the drive it started to rain. The windshield wiper flew off the truck. Just when you think nothing could make the day worse. The hauler trailer had a tire with extreme wear. For the safety we had to remove and drive the car. ( wasting the extra money to tow the car.) While towing the empty trailer I notice the tire on the trailer started to aggressively wobble. When pulling to see what was wrong. The tire was leaning off of the trailer. Upon inspecting the tire it had completely be severed from the trailer. The only thing holding it together was the brake line.
No person/family should have to use their money on this product. The company and mechanics obviously do not care for the safe arrival of your family. I recommend using uhaul or penske. Paying the extra money for something more reliable will work out in the end.Budget Truck Rental

Never renting from Avis/Budget again and I never recommend it. Customer service never answers, I rented a vehicle through their uber program and have had issues for weeks, never got an answer from the rental location in Houston, barely got an answer from customer service, and when I did they told me to go ahead "rent from hertz", then after it was 2 weeks past me trying to pay and never receiving an answer I get threatened by their repossess contactors posing as their employees. Management finally answered, but said since it took so long they had to order repossession when it only took so long because I got no support answers or anything? And it's my fault? I got robbed of my rental fee, received no support back, couldn't use the vehicle for what I rented it for and now it's repossessed due to negligent service and support. NEVER rent from AVIS or BUDGET, they are one in the same.Budget Truck Rental

We have checked our records and the first call into our Customer Service Team appears to be from May 19th, 2023, our records show that at this time our Customer Service Team did advised that you would need to go to the rental location to have your issues resolved. Additionally we show that you called back on May 23rd, 2023 with the same issue and spoke with a Customer Service Supervisor who again advised you that must go to the rental location to have this matter resolved. Our records show that the Supervisor also advised of possible action that could be taken by our Loss Prevention Team if you did not return to the counter in person to address your issues.

1 starNo customer service at all. When calling, they hang up on you. My family came over 10 hours away to help us move. My husband went to pick up the truck, and the business said they had no record of our reservation, even with our confirmation number. Drove to another business in the area, and they tried to make us take a truck that was rusted out, had a hole in the roof, covered in grease on the inside, and no AC in South Louisiana in May. When I finally was able to speak with someone at budget, I was told the nearest truck was 1.5 hours away. Save your time and book *****. You truly get what you pay for with budget!Review fromKyra P

1 starWe reserved a budget truck with car towing a month in a half in advance. We were notified 4 days before our move across the country that they were not going to have car towing available and they would just take it off our fee. We have now had to scramble and try to find a way to get the car across country with a few days to do so. We called to try and find a way to get one from another state and they said they didn’t have any. We then asked them to discount our truck so that we can pay to have it shipped and they said they had already discounted us enough because we ordered through ******. Long story short, budget does not care at all about customer service or helping you when they inconvenience you. The inventory manger basically told us we are *** and was really rude and not helpful. Don’t use budget if you’re planning or needing to have what you want available on a certain day. They tell you it’s available without it actually being verified.Review fromJawwad K.

One of the worst truck rental companies I have ever dealt with. No one seems to know what to do and how to help their customers. I rented a truck and I set up my pickup time at 5pm. When I went to pick up my truck the location had already closed. I called Budget customer service and they said I should wait until morning and call the pickup location to have my pick up date altered. I called in the morning and the guy on the phone said he can not change the dates from his system and I should call customer service. I called them again and this time they said they can not change the date as well since the pickup date already passed. I kept having to call back and forth and no one was willing to help. Out of complete frustration I cancelled my reservation. The pickup location should have called me to confirm my pickup time if it was at the time they close. I didn’t receive any kind of communication from them and they just didn’t want to help at all. Folks you are better off going to Penske or U-Haul. Do not rent with BudgetBudget Truck Rental

Incredibly dishonest company that will nickel and dime you for every possible fee they can think of.
I rented a truck for ONE day to pick up a couple pieces of furniture I purchased online in a couple different locations.
At checkout for said rental, it stated that we would be charged by the mile $0.63 but that the initial rental was 23$. Okay, fair enough. We ended up driving a bit more than anticipated at 144 miles which ended up being $91. Not ideal, especially as we were already paying for gas on their behalf and that 144 miles isn’t grounds for an oil change or anything of the sort (costs more than an oil change to begin with). Insane prices aside, they then attempted to charge us for “special taxes” that were not disclosed as well as a return fee??
Budget. Please. A one day truck rental for almost $140 is absolutely asinine. In addition to the $23 we already spent refilling the tank, this made for a grand total of $163 to pick up a $10 facebook marketplace couch and chairs. Absolutely in NO way the “most affordable company”, respectfully any trustworthy person with time and a truck would have probably just taken us to get our things for like $20. *** DO NOT USE *** THEY RENT BROKEN, UNSAFE TRUCKS.
Rented a cargo van in Phoenix AZ, in Flagstaff AZ had to have two front tires changed ( Unsafe ), then on Oklahoma City called roadside asst and found out the ball joint was bad and the van was extremely unsafe. There were zero vans in OK city to swap out. We needed to get a Penske truck to complete the move. Roadside service was not helpful either was Customer service despite dozens of call for help from us to them.Budget Truck Rental

Ugh the WORST! Racists! I've been renting from Enterprise and U-Haul for decades without any problems. I went to Budget for the first time and they were looking at me like I was going to steal their truck. I had to practically beg them to give me the rental because I flew across the country. Budget is by far the worst truck rental company I have encountered. When I picked up my truck, the location could not locate my rental resulting in almost an hour wait time. Because I had paid for my rental when I arrived, the time recorded as "pick up" was incorrect. I dropped off the truck prior to my expected time and waited in line for nearly a half hour. When I finally got to the checkout at my destination, I was charged an extra day because that half hour had made me "late".
The clerk could not help me remedy this mistake, so I had to call customer service. Customer service then referred me to the clerk, who then referred me back to customer service. I have now called Budget's inept customer service line four times over the past 3 days with no remedy in sight. This is unacceptable. I will leave poor reviews on every website I can to prevent anyone from experiencing such a lack of customer satisfaction. If you like to pay for standing in line, then Budget is the truck rental company for you. If you are normal, DO NOT USE BUDGET. This company is horrendous.
Also, to add to the horrible experience above, the check engine light was on in my truck the whole time. When I brought this up to the location at pick up, they referred me to A STICKY NOTE on the dashboard explaining not to worry about it. How endearing.
