Budget practices business deceptively. I had a reservation and when I arrived they canceled my reservation. Wrote a new contract at much higher rates and lied several time about our options. Customer service was no help at all. Very disappointing never using them again. I will make every effort to make sure no one I know uses them either. Horrible company.Budget Truck Rental

Never again. The truck and car trailer I reserve for a move from Florida to New Mexico 6 weeks in advance was not available at pick up. They did not warn me ahead of time and in fact sent me emails informing my reservation was coming up a few days prior.
Luckily, U-Haul had something available even closer to home for pick up 10 minutes later.Budget Truck Rental

Reservations are booked based on our expected availability, however when vehicles are returned back late or returned damaged it can cause us to not have the availability we had expected. In these cases we will try to find a vehicle from another location, if we are not able to we would have to refer you to rent with a competitor. In the event you did rent with a competitor and your rental costed more than your expected charges with us we are happy to review for your charges for possible reimbursement.

I reserved a 26 ft. Truck out of Livonia michigan for Friday 21st of April. When I arrived I was informed they had no truck for me, even though I reserved it a month in advanced. I flew in from Phoenix az. To pick this truck up, as I informed the person they had me call on the phone, she was apologetic about the mess up, she said I should hear from there inventory Manger in next 15 minutes to 2 hours. After 1:30 minutes I called back and after apologizes I was transferred to costumer service who told there was a truck in Dearborn mi. 12 miles away, I asked her to call that store and make sure they had it before I got a taxi, she just transferred me to the store, whish I found they did not have the truck either. So I called back and more apologizes and was told inventory manager would contact me in next 15min. To 2 hours. This was last Friday I still have not heard from the inventory manager and this is Thursday the 27th of April. I reserved the truck a month in advance flew into Detroit to take my stuff I had in storage unit back to phoenix. I'd never recommend budget to anyone after this. They left me in Detroit in 30 Degree weather and never called me to fix problem. Good thing uhaul was only a mile away.Budget Truck Rental

1 starI wish I could give no stars! Worse experience ever! Rented a car to go to *****, front left tire started vibrating, red warning lights on dash was going off. Found a nearby Budget, 3 hours out of the way to exchange for another car, was told they didn't have any and was sent to **************. There I was told I had to call roadside assistance who told me they would send an uber, but not before I had to stay with the car, wait for a tow truck and when the truck got there I was then suppose to text the uber driver to come get us to take us to another Budget to get a car. Luckily the manager at the airport wad nice enough to get us a car. In the meantime I called the original place where I got the rental and she told me they recently ******** from ********* and assumed corporate took care of any issues before renting them out. My husband knows a lot about cars and knew what the problem was, if we went 50 more miles the wheel would have flown off, we would have **** knifed and died. When we returned the second rental, which by the a warning light came on with that one too, they were dismissive with the issue, charged us for fuel even though I filled the tank, and passes us off to corporate. Called corporate, they were very nice and understanding but offered little compensation for our experience, and we are taking it to a higher level. DO NOT RENT FROM HERE, ALL THEY CARE ABOUT IS MONEY AND NOT THE SAFETY OF THEY'RE CUSTOMERS!!!!Review fromNicholas K

The Budget Truck Rental at ******* Rd in Sharonville Ohio DOES NOT HONORS YOUR ONLINE RESERVATION and has no concept of breaching contract.
We need to move some furnitures from our old place in Cincinnati to a place near Chicago. We made a reservation of small truck from Budget online a week in advance and select this Sharonvill station to pick the truck. We arranged workers to load and unload the furniture at specified hours. We came down to Cincinnati and stayed in a hotel the night before. However, when we went the station to pick up our reserved truck at the specified hour( 8 am on April 15, 2023), we were told there was no truck for us. I saw 3 small tucks and 3 vans on the lot and asked if we can jut take one of them. The black girl working there said those were reserved for Amazon and there is nothing she can do about our reservation. I understand that Amazon is big customer but It just simply wrong for Budget to breach “ contract” with little customer in order to honor big customer reservation. We talked Budget customer service over the phone. The lady offer a bigger truck available 50 miles away. We do not have time for that and we are not comfortable to drive bigger truck. I told the lady that I recorded the conversation and take photos of the available trucks on the lot. She accused us of declining her offer and just hang up the phone.
It cost us about $2000 for loss of wage, hired labor and expense.
What should we do? Any help will be greatly appreciated for little guys like us to fight this UNFAIR PRACTICE by BUDGETBudget Truck Rental

Budget Truck Rental is one of the WORST companies we have ever encountered. We rented a 16’ truck and car trailer in Manchester, NH to move my son to Round Rock,TX. When my husband and son picked up the truck, the clerk stated the check engine light sometimes comes on because it had been returned without a gas cap. That was a red flag along with the fact that the truck had over 150K miles on it. Additionally the initial $1768 estimate turned out to be over $2200: extremely deceptive. Of course, we were told there were no other trucks so we had no other choice. Next, the trailer was broken and they could not remove it from the hitch to load the truck: that was very inconvenient. On Day 1, they drove to just outside of Harrisburg, PA when the truck threw the #4 spark plug. After waiting for nearly FOUR hours for a Tech to arrive from Frederick,MD about two hours away, the tech was goin to apply a helicoil but found that it already had a helicoil. My husband and son we’re force to spend the night in the area. The next day, after several hours, the truck and contents were towed TWO hours away to Frederick, MD for repair. Oh, someone did manage to fix the trailer, though that was not very helpful at this point. Another night was spent in the area. The next day, after continuously calling back, never, ever receiving promised call backs, we were told that a gasket had been blown, the engine was “gone” and that it could be a few days before another truck could be found. Not acceptable as my son and husband were already at the point where they would lose a days pay due to the delay. Through the process, customer service was not helpful, in fact, they just did not care. My husband and son ended up finding a UHaul truck, driving two hours to Frederick to move my son’s items from the Budget truck to the UHaul and driving back to the hotel to set out the next day. We received the offer and it is NOT acceptable. Budget has offered to refund 40% or roughly $300 plus reimburse for the hotel expenses. That is absolutely ridiculous and unacceptable. We want the FULL refund of the $2100+ we paid for the rental. 40%? We didn't even use the truck 40% of the trip. I want a direct number to a person in the C-suite to discuss this issue. One of the worst and most stressful experiences of my life. Reserved a truck days in advance, only to be told on our moving day that there were no trucks available, only cargo vans. Customer service was aggressive, rude, and unhelpful after multiple calls and waiting hours to be called back. Was forced to rent a cargo van instead, which is not what we originally reserved and now it can't hold the weight of all our things! On top of this, we ended up paying more for the van than our original truck reservation! As of now, my husband is stranded in NYC with all our things while I'm stuck waiting alone with our toddler for him in knoxville, TN. He was supposed to arrive with all our stuff yesterday, but as of now is still stranded.Budget Truck Rental

Water dripped on my husbands head, the truck was unsafe to drive and there was trash all in the truck and cab. We had to unpack and repack making an 8 hr trip become a 16 hr excursion. We asked for refund and help and nothing by lies and excuses given. Rude customer service. The receptionist in Springfield Ohio said we didn’t have to fill the gas because the truck was being decommissioned. They charged us an extra $134. Lied to again. Why is the **** being allowed to happen. Why should a person have to spend hundreds to an attorney for a simple situation be made right.Budget Truck Rental

I have rented many of cars/trucks but budget has gave me the absolute WORST experience I've ever had dealing with a company. From the POOR customer service at the pick up office, to the poor customer service over the phone. The truck that was issued to me was in no condition to drive over 1,000 miles to my destination. Check engine light was on and it was LOUD. Called roadside to get it recovered because I had to come out of even more money to get a truck from *****. Here it is 15 days later and they still have not refunded my money. I'll spare the rest of the details because this process has been like no other, I wouldn't rent from this company if it was the last place on earth. Management needs to be reconsidered because if this is what you are willing to provide your customers with you're doomed!! No one I know will you ever use them in the future.Budget Truck Rental
