Had a reservation for 7am at the location of 1414 S. Monroe St Tallahassee, Fl. On 7/3/2023. Went in the office to pick up my moving truck and the gentleman at front desk said they had no trucks and to wait an hour. So, I waited an hour and went back to the gentleman and said” I waited an hour, so where is my truck ? He said “ still no trucks “ ! I cancelled my reservation and went to uhaul. I will never do business from budget again! Why wouldn’t the website tell you that no trucks are available before making the reservation? Budget wasted my time and on top of that, they lost customers and not just me because I will let my family and all my friends know not to reserve a truck from budget!Budget Truck Rental

We forecast vehicle availability based on how vehicles are scheduled to return. Several circumstances could cause inventory issues such as vehicles being extended, not returned on time or as agreed, returned to a different location, or breakdowns. We do our best to accommodate every rental but sometimes if vehicles aren't returned when they are scheduled, it causes us to be short on vehicles. I completely understand how frustrating and inconvenient this situation has been for you.

I wish I could rate this place a zero but I can't! This business is fraud and needs to be shut down asap!
I rented a truck from them for the first time and I will never do it again or encourage anyone to at all and I will make sure to tell anyone I know! These people are thieves and unprofessional! When I went there I was met with so much rudeness! Don't ask anyone there a question or you will offend them.
When I needed an extension on my truck rental I called them and asked them if there was anything I needed to do and the guy told me no...WHICH IS FALSE INFORMATION!!!
They also returned my deposit during the time I STILL HAD THE VEHICLE!!!
I called them about that and the guy told me that they would "recharge my card in a few hours." His words. I kept looking into my account to see if they would recharge me but they didn't at all.
When I returned the vehicle they reported it stolen, I explained the situation and case closed as it should be.
I looked at the invoice and saw a $400 charge? WHAT FOR? Extending my reservation? BULL!
The kept charging my card, which didn't have the funds at the time and ended up over drafting my bank account and I AM NOT HAPPY! I think a refund should be in order considering this company screwed up so many times. I don't want to hear anything else from them at all unless it's about that! Went to pick up reserved truck and very rude woman behind the counter said “I don’t have one available and I can’t force people to bring back trucks on time”. The woman then proceeded to Ignore me and moved onto next customer. Next day I found I had been charged a no show fee which I promptly had removed. I rented the truck on Friday 06/09/23 1PM for return on Monday, 6/12/23 1PM . The staff at Dealer #****** (Elmhurst, IL) were great, professional, kind and patient. Even though the truck was beat up (dings, dents) and dirty we inquired and were told it was the 'best' truck they had available.
For a Chicago, IL to Huntsville AL (8 hour drive) relocation the truck broke down half way in Elizabethtown, Kentucky at 10:00AM CST. It took a total of five (5) hours of waiting on the side of the interstate for roadside assistance to advise they could not repair (wrench light and Check Engine Light issues) and for the truck to be towed local.
Budget insisted we stay at a local hotel until they located a replacement within a 200 mile radius. In hopes they'd find a replacement soon. We did not stay, movers scheduled at our destination would still charge for the POD unload regardless if they provided the service or not.
A replacement vehicle was delivered to the home in Huntsville on Sunday 6/11/23 at 7PM, driver did not give us any documentation. This truck had accident vehicle damage in several places, both rear-view mirrors did not lock in place and the charges did not work.
On 6/13/23 at 1PM is when the truck was dropped of at the contracted destination in Murfreeboro TN. As of 6/14/23 @12:30PM CST the contract is still open in the system, flagged for being late return since it was originally due on Monday 6/12. I was told today by Customer service we'd be charged an extra day rental for the late return which MAY be reinbursed.
As of 6/14/23 @12:30PM CST I was told it may take 24-72 hours to close the contract, which legally leaves me liable for a vehicle that is no longer in my physical possession.
HORRIBLE COMPANY, if you value your safety, time and finances never rent from them.

Don’t rent a truck from Budget. I am currently stuck with my family in the middle of nowhere. Our truck rental broke down twice yesterday (6/7/23), From 1:45pm til all offices closed, as so we were told, we got the run around. We are 7 hours away from our destination and still don’t have a resolution at 6:39am the next morning. No one is being empathy to our situation. We paid $350 for a hotel for an overnight stay. I had to pay $150 to change my flight that I might not make because we still don’t have a resolution and don’t know when we will get one. My son is supposed to start work this evening which he will not make. This has been a complete cluster For the Utter Company we Keep!!!!!! I thought that I would calm down after sleeping but I didn’t sleep well because we still don’t have a resolution. They truck cost us $1900 and they got their money but don’t care anything about what we are going through. Someone dropped the ball big time because all they kept saying is someone will call you back in 15 minutes. That came and went a number of times. We were told that they would send another truck with and people to transfer our thing from one truck to the other. Well that didn’t happen. Then we called back and they couldn’t find the where we had called although we had confirmation number that was attached to the service call. Then they started with the all the offices are closed now so we can’t do anything until the morning. But we have been talking with you all since 1:45pm. Sorry doesn’t fix this huge issue. My daughter-in-law is alone 559 miles away with her two young children needed her husband by her side and we are stuck. They new we had to travel over 1000 miles.l, but yet gave us a truck that was not dependable. I can go on and on and on but I’m going to stop because I know that this is going to fall on deaf ears but I hope this helps someone to not be in this sad situation that my family and I are in. Update, we were never able to get a truck from Budget and ended up renting another truck from another company the next day. We made it but not before it cost us another $1000. The broken down Budget truck was eventually picked up around 6:30pm on 6/8/23 almost 30 hours after our initial call for assistance. Since the day of the incident, 6/7/23, we have been in contact with Budget to try and relieve some of the anguish and distress caused by this, but continue to get the run around. My son and daughter-in-law deserve better than this and I hope Budget will do right by them!!!!!!Budget Truck Rental

Worse experience in truck rental in my life. After having half the truck loaded, and rains begin to I discover that this truck leaks in over 5 places in the cargo area. . Returned the truck 2 weeks ago and had to rent another truck from another company. Budget charged me the entire 2 days of rental and refuses to close out the rental ticket. Can not get resolution from local office nor their customer service department. Renter beware. DO NOT RENT from BUDGETBudget Truck Rental

Budget Truck Rental Edison, NJ DO NOT RENT HERE! SCAM ALERT!!!!!! Please trust the reviews and save yourself the time, money and aggravation and rent from somewhere else, like UHAUL that is two blocks away from this disgusting Budget location. Multiple Problems:
1. They messed up our reservation. We had two reservations for one day a week apart. When we showed up for the first reservation, they gave us the car for the reservation of the following week and charged us two $75 no show charges for the car we had reserved for THAT DAY. We didn't realize until the next week when we were told we had already picked up that reservation.
2. They ALSO charged us for two days instead of one when we returned the car before closing on the same day claiming we brought it back the next morning. WHAT A SCAM! Just outright lied to double our fee!
3. The car was filled with garbage. Fast food leftovers, napkins, and plastic bags filled the cab. 4. They leered at my teenage daughter.
5. Two different customer service agents hung up on me after a total of 2 hours of trying resolve the mistakes (purposeful) that were made at this Budget location. I finally got them to say they would give my money back. Still waiting for my refunds to appear in my bank account. Update pending if/when refund is received.

I reserved a moving truck on Tues 5-23 for Fri 5-26. The rental was $29.99 + mileage (which was about 10 miles). I only needed the truck for about an hour. I chose to not purchase the protection plan because all my rentals I choose to use my personal insurance. I have never purchased their insurance and I've rented several times. That's exactly what I did with this rental. So on Thurs 5-25 I get a email stating that I needed to purchase their insurance in order to rent the truck. I looked in to it. For only 1hr and 10 miles they quoted me insurance for $64. I thought this is outrageous so I cancelled the reservation. Now almost a week later they charged me $75 which is the most ridiculous thing ever. They are scamming people and I will never rent anything else from them and I'll tell people I know not to rent also.Budget Truck Rental
