      I was charged twice for renting a car online. I went to Italy to pick up the car and was charged again. I am trying to get a refund and there's no help.

      Moving across the country in 26’ foot truck towing a car when I started seeing black smoke from the trailer. Trailer tire torn apart. Annoying but Fine.. That is why I paid extra for 24/7 roadside service. Called right away, left on hold for 10 min probably to actually talk to someone. Had to walk to nearest mile marker on side of highway to report location. Idk why they don’t just have an app request my location.. Stranded on side of I-40 interstate- for 2 hours so I call back (they lady underestimates saying I called 1.5 hours ago, while I know it was 2 hours because of cell phone records- I decided I would wait two hours before calling again. Since I knew I was an hour outside Albuquerque NM) and when I call back they report that no “providers” have accepted my ticket - meaning they rely on bids for 3rd parties to help with roadside. And no one wants to help me. No timeline given. Just they will call me. Now it was been 2.75 hours still no call back. I guess 24/7 roadside means 24/7 phone support and someone will call you back in the morning. Maybe they would find more 3rd party service providers if they paid more? Idk.

      This was certainly not an ideal situation and we truly apologize this was your experience during this rental. Some service requests can take several hours depending on the availability of the service provider who accepts the service request. We have filed a formal complaint with the roadside team so that a better action can be put in place to avoid similar delays in the future.

      Made reservation on line the day before the move and then got called out of town the day of and asked the person that I could not understand what it would cost to cancel the reservation and before I could get an answer he had already cancelled it so got charged a 75.00 cancellation fee out of 123.00 bill because he said I had to cancel 48 hrs before or get charged a fee,now how can I give a 48 hr notice if I rented it within 24 hrs?

      For high-demand vehicles, some Budget locations *** require that you provide your credit card information to secure your reservation. As is common practice among hotels, this type of reservation does not require charging your card unless you decide you no longer need the car rental but then fail to cancel in advance of your designated pick-up time. You *** cancel up to 48 hours in advance of your designated pick-up time without penalty. If you cancel less than 48 hours before your pick-up time, a $75 U.S. fee will be assessed. 

      We apologize for any miscommunication or any reasons that *** have caused this policy to be overlooked.

      I had fraudulent charges of $1,000 from budget rent a car, I have never done business with them. Now even though the fraud wasn't their fault, the way they have handled the situation has been very unprofessional and very negligent, It has been a month and a half since the fraud happened and they have continued to lead me in circles, Never respond to me, and lie to me multiple times saying after 7-15 business days i will get my refund, they have promised that multiple times now with no refund. I now have filed a dispute with my bank, filed an FBI IC3 report of the fraud, I figured reaching out to them and giving them all the necessary information and documents would have made a quick resolve. Unfortunately it is very operant that they do not care, and have not cared from the beginning, i will get my $1,000 back, but they will never get their reputation back.

      Victims of billing scams are advised to file a report with the *** and additional actions are recommended at their website at *************************************************************. While Budget is not liable for the actions taken by scammers, we do hope that you were successful in recovering any stolen assets.

      This place is a rip off. It states that it is Corporate lending. I don't know what qualifies it for being corporate, but it is anything but that. The cars are dirty, the place is an eyesore and most of all, no one tells you until you go to pick up your vehicle that they don't carry what they tricked you in to prepaying for at this sight. If you go to another sight, you can pay more and get what you want. Nor can they refund you if you paid through a 3rd party. their customer service, which is also a joke, has front people that tell you that the refund was processed, which it was not, more than likely. I called no less than 8 time in a 3 week period about my refund. Each time I was told the same lie until i said that I was going to report them to BBB. Then I was transferred to customer service for real and not the phone answerers for customer service. I canceled my reservation on 6/24/23 and I am still waiting for my refund. Today I did get a claim number, that it was processed on the 12th of July. I have had a refund from Budget before and I know that it does not take that long. They conduct a "bate and switch" practice, which should shut them down. My rating would be a zero.

While our automated prepayment system typically processes adjustments within 3-5 days of a submission, it can take up to 10 business days (or 14 calendar days) in some cases; regretfully, we cannot expedite this process. In the event of any additional delays, our Prepay Billing team will investigate for any errors that *** be affecting the refund. From our records, we do confirm that the refund was processed within the 14 days with no discrepancies or errors noted.       Despite my reservation being placed a month in advance, when I showed up to get my rental I was told they have no cars available and there was nothing they could do for me.
      Of course, pickup was at noon on a Saturday so everything else was closed or required a credit card (the only reason I've rented from Avis to begin with) .
      I'm now out over $800 on a cabin rental because of their mistake. My bank account and vacation have to suffer due to their incompetency and lack of care for customers! What a load of ****!
      Do NOT put yourself at risk by renting from these people!

      When I showed up to pick up the cargo van I rented, I was told the only vehicle available was a 26 foot box truck. I took it and proceeded with the move from Ohio to New Orleans. In Tuscaloosa AL the truck very noisily broke down. We eased it off the exit and called roadside seivices. After about 45 minutes a tow truck from Jeffrey’s Tiwing showed up with instructions to take us and the truck to Birmingham airport Avis. We did so and we’re turned away from 3 facilities. Finally at the Budget counter we were told by Miss Angela to call customer service. After more than 2 hours of being put on hold, cut off and directed to other numbers that were also a dead end, it was ascertained that no replacement trucks would be available until 10 more days. At this time the tow truck company offered to take us the 5 hours for $2300. Seeing this as our only option, we proceeded. Our driver Phillip “Cornbread” James was exceedingly kind and upon arrival, at midnight, even helped us to unload the truck before he dropped the disabled truck off. I am currently waiting to hear if I will be reimbursed before contacting legal help. Seek another company!!! Run!!!

      Had reservations for van at 12 and reserved months ahead. Confirmed day ahead and went to office with no van. Called help and offered a vehicle that would not accommodate number of people I had reserved for. Poor business practice. Better to pay more for company that can follow through on their end. If I didn’t show they would charge me so this is poor. Never use budget.

      NEVER RENT FROM BUDGET TRUCK!!!!!I rented a moving 16 truck and a trailer from budget in port Charlotte fl, and the manager would not help me with the trailer but he did show me how to hook the trailer up and the wires to the truck from the trailer were gone and 2 only had the wires cut so he told me to just put them back in like that and it will work. It did not work then I told him the straps are broken so I can’t put them around my tires and he said no they are just wet from the rain wait till they dry and it will work. Witch was a lie cause they did not work. ( I had to buy straps for my car.) 2 hours I’m the drive I had 2 blow out tires then I had to Waite on the side of the road with my son at 2am for 2 hours till someone came. and then another one 4 hours later since that happened I had to get a hotel cause I was already waiting 3 hours when I was told they will be where I am to fix the tires in 29 min and 3 hours later they showed up. Then I had to
      Change the Seoul off place and the phone number to where I got the truck at was disconnected. I called budget 4 times and they told me they are closed cause of the 4th and I called them on the 3rd. I called budget customer service and told them I do not want to drive over the bridge again because I’m scared my tires will pop again and they just kept on telling me I have to contact the people I got the truck from when I’m saying, their number is disconnected never never rent a truck from them again, worst customer service I’ve ever experienced!!!!

      We rented a budget truck since we had to help friends move 25 miles away. Order was confirmed until we got the call the day before from the pickup location that the truck we had rented was no longer available and we should call the 800 number to have a truck assigned to us from a different location. We called the customer service, told them we would drive 40 miles to a different location to pick up the truck. We also was flexible and told them 2 other days that would work for the rental. All information was entered and a manager was supposed to call back within 2 hours with rental options. We told this was important since we had hired mowing people to load the truck. 24 hour went by and we called again. Same story took all the information and a manager was supposed to call us back.. we ended up calling 4 times. We even found out they had a truck in Williamsburg available witch the customer service confirmed. How ever it was only a manager that could switch the reservation. To this day we never heard from budget truck.. The mowing people showed up, we didn't have a truck and couldn't mowe. The budget experience cost us 500$ cash out of pocket and we still haven't mowed.. next time we will rent with uhaul or Penske.
