I purchased a set of living room furniture in October and was told it would be delivered well before Christmas. I received a call from Metropolitan confirming delivery on December 12th. I was told that it would be white glove service but that it didnt include moving any other furniture to make room for the new furniture. Based on that confirmation I sold the old furniture. They did not deliver on the 12th. I called customer service and was told it would be delivered the week of the 18th and I would receive another call confirming actual day and time and receive a call from the driver 30 minutes before delivery. Got a confirmation for delivery on the 20th. Never got a call or delivery. Called several times and each time got a different answer. Was told they tried to deliver but no one was home. Not true. No call received either. Now being told delivery might be the week of 25th. Caused me to miss vacation with my family. How are they still in business? Call center in ***** was almost impossible to understand. Never dealt with a more incompetent business.Business Response

On Sep 29 Metropolitan came to deliver a king size mattress to our home. We had paid the mattress company extra to promise delivery into our bedroom. First, they completely blocked our street (trapping a *** truck in the process) despite having a large driveway to pull into. Next, they tried to get the mattress through our front door while still in the box including shipping protectors, which added several inches to the package and very quickly concluded it wont fit. We offered to remove it from the box ourselves to get it to a size that would fit into our door - which was difficult since neither delivery person spoke any English - but they showed no interest in solving the problem. It was like they either never moved a large mattress before are simply didnt want to be bothered. They put the mattress back in the truck and left. Having given our old mattress away we are now sleeping on cots. Weve never experienced such disregard for someone doing a job they were paid (extra) to do.Business Response

I purchased a crib and a dresser from ********* on May 26 of 2023. I am still waiting for my delivery. Metropolitan is the delivery company and they have had my order for well two months at this point. I have tried to work with them on delivery dates and times and they regularly change the date. I had to ask to speak to a Manager and explain to them that this is furniture for my nursey and I need it in place before my baby arrives. They tried to deliver the order on 8/3... I received a call that they would be here in 20 minutes. I was at a doctor appointment and told them I would be there in 30 minutes. I called the delivery driver and said I'm on my way. I'll be there in 10 minutes. I showed to my house and they were gone and now the delivery driver won't answer his phone. I am so frustrated and upset that I have been dealing with this company for over two months and they are not working with me as a customer on a delivery schedule and that they left my home when I said I would be there.Business Response

Unfortunately, on previous delivery attempts, the crew reported waited the maximum allowed time and they had to continue the route to avoid delays on next deliveries because no one was at location to receive order.
We recognize the inconvenience this all has caused and we received a notification from our Dispatch team that you requested save the delivery for the week of August 14th.

Meridian furniture hired metropolitan to deliver my furniture. 20 boxes in all. It included 6 beds, a dresser, and dining set. At first I was having scheduling issues because despite metropolitan promising 10 day delivery they would only give me a Saturday for a delivery date. After explaining to them I live in a gated community whoch is locked Saturdays (for religious reasons) they told me they will reschedule it. When they called to reschedule they again gave me a Saturday delivery. Which is when I called my furniture company whoch got me a Monday delivery. Today they finally came. My husband was home with my 9 year old daughter. My husband told the workers he's leaving the house to go to a neighboring house we own as well. He took my daughter along. In the middle , my daughter walked into the house to pick up her swim stuff. She was In there for 30 seconds which is when the workers decided to leave because "they can't be alone with a kid in the house". They would not come back and now they are marking the order as complete and stated they will order a service call for me to put the furniture together. ************ call was scheduled for in 2 weeks time. They expect me to leave the furniture all over the house, pieces flying around for 2 full weeks . This is insane.Business Response

We received a report from our delivery crew that the adult that received them, left a 5-years old alone in the house with them and that is strictly forbidden for our crews. Not even for a minute a child can be left alone in a house with one of our delivery crews, that's against our policies and drivers properly notified you about that, per the report we received you demanded them to stay and they explained to you that won't be possible and left. In reviwing your case, we already contacted you and notified to you that we will comple this service today and we have specifically requested an adult at your location during the entire assembly service. We already received your confirmation and service will be completed today August 1st, between 12:30-430PM.

I purchased furniture from Urban Outfitters who then hired Metropolitan Warehouse and Delivery Corp based in **********. Their ******,** warehouse delivered my furniture on 1/11/23 and in the process of doing so, they hit my vehicle parked in my driveway unbeknownst to us because they never said anything during the delivery. I have a neighbor who witnessed the event and said the delivery drivers looked at the damages and appeared to take pictures so he assumed they were going to do the right thing by turning over the information to their employer and speak to us about it. Approximately a week later on 1/19/23 my neighbor asks my husband if the delivery company fixed our car. That is when we realized it was in fact Metropolitan Warehouse who caused the damages. I then contacted Urban Outfitters who had supposedly been contacting Metropolitan Warehouse with zero response from January to now. Here we are six months later and Metropolitan has now stated their drivers are denying they caused the damages and given a written statement so they are offering half of the expense to have it fixed. This is unacceptable and I have a witness who saw the event take place. I also see that Metropolitan has low satisfaction rankings on a number of websites.it is no wonder why if this is the type of operation they run with unethical employees and management.Business Response

This complaint is in regards to a recent shipment from Bambi Baby (Ref# *******/ Tracking # ************) that has yet to be delivered.The initial order was placed with Bambi Baby for a nursery set on 25 Mar 2023. I was notified that I should expect delivery during the week of 19 ****** was also told that one item, a set of toddler bed rails would be delivered at a later date. I was fine with this as I primarily needed the crib and dressers to prepare the nursery for our baby's arrival and could wait on the toddler conversion rails.I was then notified, via phone call, from Metro Delivery on 12 Jun that my order would be delivered early on Thur, 15 Jun between 9:30 am - 1:30 pm and to expect a phone call 30 mins prior to the delivery truck's arrival. Based on this information, my husband took a day off of work to be available for delivery on 15 Jun.By 12:30 pm on 15 Jun, we had received no phone call from the delivery company. When I called the customer service number I was told my ********************** had been canceled because the items were not "put on the truck" and would have to be rescheduled. However, I was never notified & as a result we lost $1300 in lost wages.As I worked with several supervisors, warehouse staff, and dispatchers to resolve the issue I was told that they would work to get my shipment delivered on Mon, 19 ****** was contacted on Fri, 16 Jun and told that delivery on 19 Jun was impossible and that I was being rescheduled for the following Fri, 23 Jun. They ASSURED me that my order would be delivered then.However, I was just notified today, 21 Jun that once again my order WOULD NOT be delivered because the items were, ONCE AGAIN, "not put on the truck" & would need to be rescheduled for the 3rd week in a row. After speaking with a manager, I was told the reason seemed to be that a single item, the toddler rails, had not arrived yet & so they would not deliver the rest of my furniture. Metropolitan Warehouse scheduled a 4 hour window for delivery for today for a purchase I made from **** Furniture. It was for 12:30 -4:30. I received a call at 12 telling me the delivery would be at 4 and that someone would call me 30 minutes before they came.At 4 I had not received any call from them so I called them to see why they had not come at 4. They said I was going to be the next delivery they made but after 2 hours I called them back to see why they still had not come with my delivery.They told me it shouldnt be much longer until they would be calling me 30 minutes before they made the delivery. Since they had told me when they scheduled my delivery that I would receive a call 30 minutes before they arrived at my house. At around 6:30 they arrived at my house with my delivery. I received no call from them 30 minutes before they arrived at my home. Also the delivery that was supposed to be made was scheduled 12:30 -4:30 but they arrived over 2 hours later. I definitely will not be ordering from any place that Metropolitan Warehouse makes deliveries for ever again.They definitely failed!Business Response

The delivery company caused $4,000 worth of damage to my home and has ignored my request for reimbursement for months. Theyve avoided responding to emails and phone calls. The people in charge will not ************* and have not responded to emails in weeks. The damage was done in December 2022. It was reported immediately. I took photos and videos to submit to the company. Then they asked me to fill out a damage report. I scheduled consultations with contractors ASAP and all of the quotes needed were obtained and necessary paperwork and submitted by me in February 2023. Theyve made no attempts to rectify the situation and my home is still damaged. Theyve made no indication they plan to actually pay for the damage they have caused and I believe theyve had more than enough time and opportunities from me to rectify the situation.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because:
No one has reached out to me since I called 4/27 to complain about the lack of response. They didnt follow up with any emails to me before my BBB complaint either. They have photo and videos of the damage. They also have a copy of the quote to replace the exact door that was damaged which was sent out in February. They have all the information they need to proceed with processing payment for the damage they did.

I purchased a couch from Inside Weather for $3k+, tracking number: **** **** ****. Delivery was scheduled 1pm-5pm. GPS showed drivers at a local park for 2 hours. Drivers called prior to delivery, then did not respond to call back. I spoke with two representatives on the phone who could not reach the drivers on cell. I was told they were done for the day and wouldnt be able to deliver. The front office has camera footage of them driving to the gate, taking pictures, then leaving. I ordered a piece of furniture from Anthropologie and Metropolitan Warehouse and Delivery was their third party vendor that delivered the furniture on January 7, 2023. After the delivery team drove away, I noticed a large scratch on my floor in front of the furniture. I immediately called Anthropology and they advised to send them a picture and they would send to third party vendor and they would address it. So that is what I did. I heard nothing back from Anthropology or Metropolitan. I continued to follow-up with ****** as the furniture was damaged and I needed to replace it. I finally got more information from Anthro and was told I needed to get a repair quote. I was concerned about not hearing from Metropolitan as I didn't know how long this process would take and if there was a time limit on resolution. The exchange was scheduled for January 28, 2023. I did ask ****** if we could use a different delivery service as I still had not heard back from Metropolitan and my floors were damaged the first time. That was not something they could do so I of course had no choice but to let Metropolitan back in to my home. Upon arrival I communicated the scratch and asked the team to be careful. They proceeded to add two more scratches, which I called out to them right away. I added this note to the document I had to sign to say they delivered my furniture. I them emailed the damage and got an updated quote.It is now April and after several phone calls, follow-up emails, and terrible customer service from ********************** (and Anthropology for that matter as they had washed their hands of the issue), they denied my claim and subsequent re-imbursement for $850 worth of damage to my floors. As explained by our Claims Manager - that she sent a direct notification to you - the proof of delivery ticket has notation however of product damage (hutch) not property damage. The property damage was reported for floor on 1/26/2023. The delivery took place on 1/7/2023. Claim has been denied due to late reporting and no damages notated on the proof of delivery ticket. Metropolitan reserves the right to refer to the signed POD for proof of liability and case has been closed. Claim denied.

I am rejecting this response because:
There were two deliveries and both times there was damage to my floor. The first delivery it was not noted because the scratch was noticed as the team was pulling away. I contacted Anthropologie immediately to ask about next steps for the damaged floor. They said to send them pictures and they would pass to metropolitan. The second delivery when the floors were again scratched was noted on the form. I feel this claim is being mishandled as they arent connecting all the delivery dates. I have all the emails to Anthropologie and all my emails to Metropolitan. I can show the series of events. Also calls are recorded so I was clearly following up based on the guidance given to me. I would not be going through this trouble if there wasnt damage from Metropolitan.
