      I filed a claim because my fridge was not working. On April 7 I called Liberty Home Guard, I have a protection plan from them, and was told it was $125 to file a claim. I explained that I had a technician and they told me to have the tech call them to provide the diagnosis.
      He called and was on hold for over 45 mins, he had to hang up to go to a service call. He called the next day and was on hold for 30 minutes and he was told I had to call them.
      I called them and was asked if the tech was with me. He was not, I said he was coming later to fix the fridge. When he arrived I called Liberty Home Guard and was told, after 10 mins on hold, that they could not approve the claim due to 'an internal issue'.
      I had the tech repair the fridge - $540. He gave me the invoice. I heard nothing back from Liberty so I sent an email to them with the invoice.
      On Apr 10 I got an email from Liberty that told my the claim had been reviewed and I would be contacted.
      On April 11 they called and told me since the fridge was old they would replace it, for $150! For a fridge that would easily cost $5K to replace. I laughed out loud. I told them the cost was over $500. He then said $175, I asked if I get my $125 filing fee back, nope! He then told me I need to submit my invoice. I told him I already did, he should have reviewed the case before he called. They are reimbursing me a whopping $50 ($175-$125).
      I feel like I was scammed!
      Stay away from Liberty Home Guard - I was really expecting to reimburse $500+ without much fuss - Oh boy was I wrong.

      Liberty Home Guard: Masters of Delay and Poor Service

      If there’s one thing Liberty Home Guard excels at, it's stalling claims, dodging questions, and providing subpar service.

      I’ve faced endless frustrations, paying for parts that were never installed, having my case "escalated" repeatedly with no resolution in sight. Not once has a claim been handled without me shelling out extra money for issues that should’ve been covered by a reputable company.

      Currently, I’m in yet another messy situation: after paying $360 to service my dishwasher, it remains nonfunctional, and now they’re just “reviewing” my case. How about sending a technician instead?

      This company is nothing short of a bad joke.

      To everyone considering Liberty Home Guard, beware! They take your money and show no concern for their customers. With a class action lawsuit pending against them, I truly wonder how they continue to operate.

      Send out incompetent technicians. Repairs break after a couple of months and Liberty wants to charge for everything all over again. HVAC coverage is a complete joke. They charge you more than going independently to get an entire new system install installed. Their escalation team does nothing. They’ll take weeks on end to get back to you if you have an issue with the way they are handling your problem. They aren’t even responding to their complaint emails.

      I would also give 0 stars if I could. This company is bait and switch. I received a contract that I took sections and asked specific questions about and in writing with the sales rep received positive answers. I enrolled in a policy and a year and a half later, filed my first claim. The technician that was sent out by LHG was not knowledgeable about the heating system but gave me a recommendation. LHG then took over 2 weeks to then let me know that they could find no technicians to complete the repairs and I could have the repairs done and I would be reimbursed. But for only $500 of a claim over $1000. I was asked to submit maintenance records (citing section H.2), for which I provided an initial inspection report from buying the house & policy and maintenance records for the past 2 years I have been in the house. I was told the claim was denied since I was unable to provide all records for the previous years from the old homeowner. The $500 was a courtesy. I spoke at length with two different "managers" in the Resolutions department who told me that it was at their discretion to deny any claim based on "insufficient" records, but they also stated that they COULD approve any amount as a courtesy. I asked for a compromise and they both said no, "just because I can." This company does not care about having satisfied customers. They will do everything to pay as little and deny as much as possible. I am requesting a refund for the remaining amount on my contract, as I pre-paid for a 5 year warranty. STAY AWAY IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR AN HONEST, REPUTABLE COMPANY.

      Technician won't come for 3 weeks. No one really cares. You get stuck in an endless cycle of 1-2 business days and nothing happens for 2-3 business weeks. There are plenty of similar experiences out there, I have no idea how they have the rating that they have here. Stay away.

      25 below zero outside 50 degrees inside and the denied my claim because I didn't wait 36 to 48 hours to find a technician. My wife and grandkids were in the home and very cold. And the denied my claim after they made me pay $125.00 to open the claim. Total rip off. I would strongly recomend you do not use this company or buy their policies the claim was $ 799.00
      For the health of my grand kids I paid my technician.

      STAY AWAY. Scam artists. Fake positive reviews tricked me in to going with them. Customer service is terrible, follow up is nil, options are a joke and they will NOT reimburse you when they offer to let you get your own service provider and then charge you for additional labor when they actually send someone out after 1/2 dozen or so phone calls to complain.

      This company is AWFUL, DISHONEST, & ran by a bunch of thieves! I cancelled my policy over 14 months ago, but this morning (2-17-25) I wake up to a $600 charge on my credit card. I’ve called Customer Service 3 times & they WILL NOT let me speak to the Billing Department & they also keep telling me, they don’t have the training to refund my money or cancel my supposed to be already cancelled policy.
      And to add insult to injury, I found out that they never cancelled my old policy, they put it “On Hold”, then opened up a new account in my name today (2-17-25)!! I haven’t dealt with this company since November 2023. We cancelled them, because they lied about how their policies work.

      I'd like to leave a no star review. They get one star cause they answer the phone.
      Called Jan 16/2025 for a leak in the bathroom sink. A tiny little leak. Finally someone came out Feb 3 and determined faucet replacement. I can't tell you how many times they said they would "escalate" the claim. Or tell me it was closed. Or waiting for tech confirmation. Contrary to their website claims ...they DO NOT send a tech within 24-48 hours. And they DO drag out a claim. To date it's been over 3 weeks. No repair. No resolution. No way I'm staying with them. They've lost my trust.
