Terrible customer service! Would prefer to give zero stars. Gave us the run-around whenever we needed a refill. We use the propane for our generator. When our propane ran out during a freezing cold power outage, we were told on a Thursday that we had to wait until the next available Tuesday as Tuesdays are our normal delivery day, we had only ever had one other delivery before that! And never heard of Tuesday being our "delivery day schedule". We ended up buying a gas generator as we couldn't let pipes freeze waiting for whatever Tuesday they could make a delivery. After them owing us $10 on our account for months, we suddenly started getting constant phone calls about our overdue equipment fees, for an ancient rotting tank they made impossible to use. They are way overpriced compared to other propane services in our area. This isn't a company, it's a scam that's dressed like a service company. I've asked them to remove the unused equipment and fees for equipment they made a nightmare to try to use.Suburban Propane, L.P.

The tank was used for their generator only so the usage was very low. They called on 12/13/2022 and asked for a quote on a fill and we did quote the fill for the customer at that time. ******** stated he would talk to his wife and said he would call us back, but never did. We do always state to the customer what their delivery day is and offer a same day delivery with a fee if they are interested. The customer was charged an equipment rent fee. The customer then called and asked us to pick up the tank because they didnt need it anymore. We did remove the tank and the equipment rent fee. The account is closed with a zero balance.Review fromBrian M

Always delayed delivery. Repair techs never first time right. Delivery Demands paths shovelled in winter right after a big storm. Isn't that what you signed up for when you took the job?Suburban Propane, L.P.

Our last delivery was in 2021. Yes, it is the customers, not Suburban's responsibility to provide ************ to the propane tank for delivery.Review fromDavid S

I cancelled my Suburban Propane service January 19, 2023. I immediately contacted Suburban to request that they remove their propane tank. They never responded. I have called every week since then and finally received an agreement that they would pick up the tank on March 3, 2023. They did not show up and did not contact me with an explanation or a reschedule. They are not answering calls or making call backs. This tank is an eye sore and no longer my responsibility. I consider it to be hazardous waste that they are responsible for.Suburban Propane, L.P.

With the weather conditions, we had to prioritize customer's needs, however, we will schedule a pick-up date as soon as possible.Suburban Propane, L.P.

Terrible Service. We no longer need their service and have called to have tank picked up.It is not that easy to have the tank picked up. They charge a huge fee for picking it up.First its $150 for the pickup fee. But not just that--they charge $1.00 per gallon for a restock fee. This is absolutely ridiculous. We have not used the tank this year so the tank is full. Do not use this company. They "RIP" people off.Suburban Propane, L.P.

We spoke with the customer yesterday. After we charge only the $1.00 restock fee they will still get a refund of $374.90 for the gas in the tank. Also they havent used any fuel for 5 years so the price we are refunding goes back to 2017 when they got their last delivery. ThanksReview fromLarry C

I was scheduled to have a tank put underground and connected to a standby generator, I was told that someone would come today and they would call me 30 minutes prior. It is now 5:46 in the evening and the technician has not called yet. I'm scheduled for the connect to the house on day after tomorrow. I believe it is very unprofessional technician not to return a customer's call or at least give a courtesy call to discuss why the hook up did not take place. As a pastor who's church also utilize Surburban, maybe we need to look at finding another company that can provide better customer service.Suburban Propane, L.P.

We delivered the tank and set it the next morning 1st thing. The Generator wasnt hooked up to the panel box so we couldnt hook up the generator and run our proper tests required. But the tank is in place and hes to call us when the generator is ready for us to come and hook it up.Review fromLana S

Rude customer service. Poor response time, misleading charges, and if you want out, you will be charged hundreds of dollars. Read the reviews prior to signing on.Suburban Propane, L.P.

We spoke to this customer on Friday. She received a minimum bill and explained to me that her house was under construction and that she wished for her account to have a freeze. We explained that as long as the tanks are on her property she would need to abide by the contract. We did authorize to reverse the minimum bill charge she had just received and offered to pick the tanks up. She said she wants them to remain there as she is moving back in in two months. She also wanted the previous delivery from March to credited back to her, to receive the propane for free, and have the rental charge waived as well. We already reversed a minimum delivery bill and that is all we can do to assist this customer as we find that compensation to be more than fair.Review fromjohn p

We are on a monthly plan, our tank was not serviced as per the plan resulting in our tank dropping to below 10% during a snowstorm. We contacted the company to let them know and have been doing so for weeks now. We currently have no propane and have been out for at least week. The roads are clear and accessible and after multiple attempts to reach the local office we still have no propane. We have received nothing but lip service after contacting there corporate offices. This level of service us unacceptable and places myself and my family in danger.Suburban Propane, L.P.

I dont understand how they stay in business with the poorest service to its paying customer on auto fill. We are on the auto fill program and have ran out three separate times. We live in a community where the trucks deliver on a regular basis because 90% of the residents require propane. You can never get a hold of the local office and the call center is basically useless since they no authority or lack communication with the local office.Suburban Propane, L.P.

These people are a total joke! I requested a fill of my tank online, the website didn't update my credit card info even though confirmed. Because it didn't update I had to wait 3 more weeks for my delivery and had to speak with a rep to get my credit card updated. The website quoted a price to fill up @ $3.389 per gallon (a total of $343.10) but when actually refilled they charged me $5.899 per gallon ($452.81 total). I called and inquired as to why I was being charged so much and was told $5.899 was the current going rate nationally. I called BS on that price and ******* told me they would have to talk to a manager to see if they could do anything about the price. I've been a customer for less than a year and I paid $3.899 per gallon initially. I was told today that it was a promotional price which is a lie as well. I won't be a customer for much longer!!!Suburban Propane, L.P.

We called and spoke to this customer. He advised that he saw on the website $3.899 per gallon. We offered to rebill him at that price due to him seeing that on our website. We will rebill this for him today and will refund his credit card for the difference immediately. We asked twice if it was $3.899 per gallon since the email below quoted a different price. He said yes it was $3.899. His delivery was pushed extra due to snow and ice on the road and that our bobtail could not get to him. We called and let him know and went as soon as the road would allow. He was roughly at 20% when we arrived so there was no issue of running out.Review frommatthew g

if you speak to anyone affiliated with this company you would understand how dishonest and poorly managed they are.for over 3 years i have been trying to correct the billing information on an account we have with them as it was originally in my fathers names who passed away in 2019 the customer service rep named **** out of ******** ** he's not a good fit for you company but then again based on the poor service you have maybe that's the personality that best fits your company i decided to end the call with him the clearly feel they can talk over people like their a lesser person.Suburban Propane, L.P.

We have made contact with this customer and we will be emailing him the appropriate contract to get the account in his name. This will alleviate any billing concerns he has on our end.
