They tell you to call when your gas level is at 20. If you wait until then you will be out. I'm going on 2 weeks now and still waiting. When I called the lady on the phone said the will be in your area on Monday. Monday is gone. I called on Tuesday and asked them if they were coming, again I got they should be there on Thursday. Thursday past. I'm hoping they come today but I gave up calling because they just tell you what you want to hear and not what is true. I'm thinking of removing my tankless water heater so I don't have to call that often. There is no reason to wait 2 weeks for a fill up. They hold you hostage because it's their **************** needs to revamp their system. We pay for your service.Suburban Propane, L.P.

Customer called in on the 21st for a delivery. They put his delivery on for Monday Feb 27th as that was his next delivery day. He received his delivery on the 27th, we have reached out to make sure there are no further issues.Review fromKate M

This business should be shut down. We ran out of propane three times in a two year period when we are on their never run out of gas plan. We have an infant in the house and it was 40 degrees. Our propane tank meter was broken and telling us it wasnt empty so we assumed there was something wrong with our hvac. They refused to pay for the hvac check up and took a year to get the meter fixed. When we cancelled service they sent out a contractor to remove the tank without telling us when or how much and told us we could hire our own contractor if we wanted to not pay the $1000 to remove their property from our lot. This company is corrupt garbage.Suburban Propane, L.P.

This Customer called in on **** for emergency delivery and we waived the emergency delivery fee. Customer then called on **** to cancel the delivery. On **** customer request to cancel service and stated she is paying a vendor to dig up our tank, which we will then remove once it is visible.Review fromJeffrey C.

This company is a terrible price ******. They just filled my tank (400 gallons) and charged me $5.50/gallon when the average price in NH is $3.77. They use the excuse that I only use ******* gallons per yr. so I;m low usage. It's just a rip off the consumer excuse as other companies don't charge 46% more for 400 gallons.Suburban Propane, L.P.

Customer calls in annually to discuss his price per gallon. He is a low volume user who is priced correctly based on his usage. Customer is seeking pricing that is in line with customer who purchase over **** gallons and that price is a national average and doesn't take into consideration the costs associated with delivery to his residence. We have made numerous price concessions over the years for this customer and unfortunately, we cannot continue to lower his price when he is priced appropriately.. We have offered this customer to enter into our Pre-Buy program and we think that would be a good fit for him to keep his price consistent.Jeffrey C.

I don't consider 1-2 deliveries a year of 400 gallons ea. to be low volume to justify 46% higher than the Average price in **. I have talked to several others in the area and the price is much much lower for similar or lower quantity usage. Do yourself a favor and stay away.Review fromJess M

This company should be ashamed of itself for so many reasons. They deserve zero stars. I wish we had thought to check reviews before we signed up with them a couple years ago, but the previous owner of our house had an account with Suburban and we figured how bad could they be? Well, this is how bad: Since they've consistently had trouble figuring out the right cadence for deliveries and often let us run out, we proactively called them 5 days before extreme cold (negative double-digit wind chill) was expected to hit our area and asked them to top us off so that we wouldn't risk losing heat, hot water, and cooking fuel (our stove/oven runs on propane) amid the coldest weekend in decades. They turned us down, told us to wait 5-7 days, and sure enough, we ran out of propane the morning of the cold snap and were without heat, hot water, and the ability to cook hot food for an inexcusable 5 DAYS until finally a different provider was able to come out and help us. Since we've switched providers, we've discovered we were also significantly over-paying (we paid $4.70 with Suburban and now $2.99 with ******* within the same month) and our tanks weren't even installed to code. On top of that, since Suburban has let us run out so many times, we requested a second tank or a larger tank in the hope of reducing these misses. That was over a year ago with multiple follow-*** in between, and they still have not honored our request, nor have they picked up their crappy old tank. S**** this company, they are the absolute worst. If you want some peace of mind, fair prices, and reliable deliveries, and you're in Central ***********, go with *********************.Suburban Propane, L.P.

We reviewed this account and found that we should have added a second tank. We adjust the delivery schedule to accommodate, but the cold snap caused them to run out again. We called the customer today, there was no answer. We did leave a voicemail apologizing, for the situation.Review fromAnthony S

We have spoken with this customer last week and apologized for service being delayed this winter due to personnel shortages. We called him Wednesday morning letting him know that we could get out there that afternoon and he was happy with that. As it turns out, once our tech was on site the job was not ready for the installation as they are still waiting for the appliance to arrive and be installed. The tanks are on the ground, locked and waiting to be completely installed once everything is ready. ************ is aware that we are waiting on him now to move forward.Review fromlarry n

This company will charge you for everything at above market prices. They try to make you sign a three-year contract up front. I signed a one-year contract, was charged well above local market prices on propane throughout the contract period. I am talking two dollars or more above local prices! They also charge you to do safety inspections which are free from other suppliers. I cancelled my service after my contract expired and was informed, I now need to pay $1 for every unused gallon in my tank. I paid for the propane delivered, and now need to pay them to take their *********! The tank sat in my driveway for three months after I requested removal. There are other propane suppliers in the area that are fair. Do not use this company.Suburban Propane, L.P.

We spoke with this customer. Customer signed a one year tenant agreement and the Early termination fee is in the process of being reversed as a courtesy. There will be a separate refund check for this reimbursement. We also waived the restocking fee as an additional courtesy. Safety Inspection fee stands, we do charge for an operations check for every new customer. As explained, other companies include it in their installation fee. There was also no charge for the tank pick up fee, which customer misunderstood to be the Early termination fee. Tank pick up did take some time due to unforeseen circumstances. Customer is all set and we wish them well with their new provider.Review fromAshley K

We have a gas log fireplace and we had a less than professional tech who couldn't even be bothered to introduce himself at the door come out and quote us for a tank installation. Our hook up is under the deck so they wrote on the quote it would be no problem to put it where the existing hook up is. My husband took off work to be here for the installation, but the tech called out and they had no one else to do it and rescheduled, so a whole days worth of pay gone with only $50 removed from the installation fee. Yesterday another tech comes and says he's unable to put it where the original tech quoted, told me it would be $250-$400 to run copper wire to another area and place the tank on the side of the house, but we'd have to hire a plumber. I asked him if he could call the office to find out where the miscommunication was with the original quote and he said he doesn't have the option to do that. He clearly just didn't want to. The operations manager came to the house to check it out after my husband called and he said he would come out himself with a tech today to install a tank in the original place. Today they called to say they don't have two techs to come and the operations manager is too busy. The woman ****** in the office offers no advice or solutions, just excuses. We will never work with such an unreliable company. Please don't waste your time going back and forth with this unprofessional business.Suburban Propane, L.P.

We apologize for any confusion this situation may have caused. There was a condition where they wanted the tank set under their deck, and the type of tank they wanted was not in code to be under their deck. After speaking with Dylan Oliver, we came to the decision that we are going to close out the account (which he has not been charged for any work) and customer will then be able to move in a different direction.Review fromPatrick W

Worst, most inept scheduling I have ever experienced! I can't even recall how many appointments I have had scheduled with this company for one thing or another that they never showed up for. Several times now they didn't even call to say they can't make it. Don't EVER bother taking time off work expecting them to keep a scheduled appointment! Now I am stuck with a propane tank not installed up to code that no one else can touch and they (Suburban) won't come remove it. There is one person at this company (*********************) who showed up when scheduled, gave us great service and a plan for fixing our situation! I almost stuck with Suburban just because of ******!Suburban Propane, L.P.

After researching this account, we found that our Service Manager had already spoke to him this morning and we have him scheduled to pick up his 120 on Feb 10th. This was a move in move out customer that we were to turn the gas on. We left several voice mails for him that he never returned and stated that he does not check his messages. He also did not sign a customer agreement timely which delayed service and caused rescheduling. When we arrived to turn on the system he found a gas pack install to close to the tank. The tank is set in a location that requires 2 men to move the tank so the job had to be rescheduled. After scheduling the tank to be moved the customer canceled service with us which canceled the work order. He was upset that we didnt pick up the tank right away after canceling service. We wish him well with his new service provider.Suburban Propane, L.P.

Tried multiple times this month to get propane delivery ... per our regular schedule...and they never show up! Every time we call we get the run around. It's simple, our tank is 10% full. It's winter! Our central air and heat went out for 5 days last week. All we had to keep us warm were tiny space heaters and our fireplace! What does it take to get service?Suburban Propane, L.P.

We are no longer this customer's service provider and we have not delivered to them since 4/8/2016. We removed our tank 6/6/18 and terminated the account. it seems they have the wrong company in posting this review, as we are not their service provider. Please file this complaint against the correct propane company.
