I was contacted by Superior Servicing in regards of consolidating my student loans ... stating that they work with FSA ... I thought the 49 dollars was going to be for like 2 payments ... but today I just realized I have been paying this scam each month until now.

Around the second quarter of 2023, we received a notice in the mail about enrolling my wife's student loans into the SAVE plan and to act quickly before the deadline passes. She called the number and they deceived us into thinking they were official agents of the department of education and charged us $799 up front (on May 31, 2023) and $49 each month (starting June 2023) which they said would be paid to her student loans, however not a single ***** has been paid to her student loans as her real loan servicer has no record of any of the payments that we've made. We did not sign any documentation, everything was only done over the phone. They have not contacted us a single time since this started. We have received no statements, no bills, no mail, no email, and we can't even reach them through their phone number that I got from my bank statements.

    ******,

We called you today, July 23rd, to address your complaint but you didn't answer so we left you a voicemail. Unfortunately since you filed this complaint with your name and information without providing her's, we were unable to locate your wife's account in our system. Please call us back immediately so we could locate the account, and address this matter promptly.

I have been trying to contact the business to resolve this but they never answer the phone and never answer emails. I have to rely on them to call me back, but neither my wife nor I are available on most weekdays and have told them as such, yet they deliberately only try to call us back at the times that we told them we were not available for.

I was contacted by this business in July of 2023 and they stated they were affiliated with the ********** of ********* for loan consolidation. I received a letter in the mail from them first. They told me about the SAVE plan and I paid $899 in three installments to have my loan consolidated then was told my payments would only be $49 a month. I then found out they were not the ********** of ********* in April of 2024 and had my loans moved to an actual servicer however Im still being charged the monthly fee from this business. I would like to not be charged anymore and I would like a refund of the money Ive been charged.

Superior Service has been taking $49 out of my account around the 15th of each month for several months now. They called me telling me they could set up loan payments for me and I thought it was legit. I have tried to call the number several time but it says the number can not be completed as dialed. I am pretty sure it is a scam because It does not look to me like my loan has went down any. I do have a copy of the agreement that I signed thinking they were legit. I have already contacted my bank and they stopped payment on my card but now they are taking it out of my checking account.

Superior Servicing has fraudulently withdrawn money claiming it was for my student loan consolidation. In July 2023, I contacted Aidvantage regarding a consolidation notice I received. After completing the application over the phone, I was told I would receive an email with forms to review, sign, and return via ***** During this process, I received a call from what I believed to be Aidvantage, informing me of my payment schedule based on my salary$399.50 for the first two payments. On 07/25/2023 and 08/08/23, I received calls from "student loan customer service" confirming these amounts would be debited from my account.Fast forward to June 2024, and I've just discovered that Superior Servicing, whom I believed to be my loan servicer, has deducted $399.50 and an additional $49.00 monthly, totaling $1,289. None of this money has gone towards my federal student loan. Aidvantage and MOHELA have confirmed they have no affiliation with Superior Servicing and advised me to have my bank stop these payments. I have reported Superior Servicing LLC to my bank for fraud, and they are currently under investigation.I will be submitting a police report and contacting the ********** of ********* to report this company, and I will pursue this until this fraudulent operation is exposed. Many victims like myself are falling prey to this scam. I demand the return of every cent taken from me. Attempts to contact Superior Servicing have been futile, adding to my frustration. I need immediate answers and resolution.

I was contacted by Superior Servicing LLC by mail on an official looking letter from the ********** of ********* regarding my student loans in October. I contacted the number on the letter in early November. The person from Superior Servicing misled me with deceptive sales tactics to believe they were affiliated with the ********** of *********. They explained how I could be placed on a plan to pay significantly less than my total debt amount. I was given a contract to sign and had to pay $799 then $49 monthly with the expectation that this will all be going towards my Federal student loans. The contract itself did not contain the terms discussed on the phone call and I felt rushed through the signing process. All payments were made to Superior Servicing LLC but none of it went towards my Federal Student Loan balance. I have been scammed out of approximately $1200 at this point. This was a scam that has caused me a lot of financial and mental anguish.

    Hello ****,

The initial notice you received from us and the service agreement you signed both clearly state that we are NOT affiliated with the ********** of ********** The fees you have paid us are service fees we charge in order to help you get your student loans consolidated and enrolled in the SAVE program; Because of our service your loans were consolidated on 12/12/2023 and are now in the SAVE program, which is a student loan forgiveness program. Your recertification date, which is required for you to do in order to stay in the program, is on 03/07/2025. If it were not for our services, you would still have 8 separarte loans and not be enrolled in the SAVE program. We will be contacting you regarding your complaint and going over a possible resolution with you. Our customer service number is **************.

    Complaint: 21887982

I am rejecting this response because I was misled from the start with your unethical business practices. Why would I need your service to get my loans consolidated? I can get my loans consolidated for FREE through the government website (screenshot from the government website attached). There is no reason why I would be paying $800 initial and then $49 a month for any reason other than paying off my loans which were heavily implied from the beginning. Although your focus was on consolidation, you have heavily implied that the payment I am giving you would go towards paying off my student loans not to Superior Servicing itself. All the customer service reps I've spoken to seem to be trained to avoid giving a direct answer when I ask to clarify on this point. I vividly remember getting a "mhm" (instead of yes or no) the last time I called to clarify if these payments were going towards payment of my student loans. All of my recent attempts to contact customer service for cancellation or refund has been pushed to voicemail so I am highly skeptical of any calls I receive from this illegitimate business. As of date, none of the money I have paid to Superior Servicing has gone towards my student loans. I have been scammed out of $1,200 for a service I could have done myself for free. If you need to contact me, you have my email: ************************** I want written documentation of our exchanges moving forward.

I am highly unsatisfied with this response and want a formal cancellation of the contract I was misled to sign and a refund for the money that has been taken from me.

    Sincerely,

I was contacted by mail and by phone from Superior Servicing, telling me I qualified for the SAVE program and student loan forgiveness. They said I had a deadline to submit my student loan forgiveness application, and told me I had a past due balance that I needed to take care of before being able to implement a payment plan. They said my income qualified me for reduced payments of $49 per month, but that I needed to pay my past due balance first. They claimed the lowest they could settle my past due balance for was $299 and they would need it as a lump sum payment. I was told this would go towards, again, a past due balance of my student loans. I was told also, that the $49 payments monthly thereafter, would go towards my student loans and that after 10 years of payments I would have my balance forgiven. Today I received an email from Superior Servicing saying this: Grace,This is a friendly check-in, regarding your student loan program, to confirm you have received your final approval with your re-certification date for your Income Driven Repayment Plan. Please contact us back to confirm your re-certification date immediately.Best ******** **************** ************ ********************************************* within 2 minutes I got an email from Edfinancial, MY REAL STUDENT LOAN SERVICER, saying this: If you did not request to have your password reset, please contact us immediately at **************. Followed up with beware of scams info at the bottom of the email. This is when I decided to log into my student loan account online with the government website to check my student loan balance and make sure it was being paid. IT HAS NOT BEEN PAID, AT ALL. I never had a past balance due either. Superior Servicing misled, lied, and scammed me into thinking I had a past due balance and that they were part of the SAVE program trying to get me on a reduced payment plan. All they have done is take my money and not pay my student loans.

This needs to be investigated. Superior Services is--while not claiming to be the ********** of ******************* and taking advantage of people by communicating that they are working with federal loan providers while stealing money and personal data. They have since changed their phone number and their website is gone. In February 2024 I was contacted by Superior Services, an agency that claimed to be partnered with the ********** of ********* to roll out the Income-Driven repayment plans for student loans. I received mail from the agency about repayment options that used much of the same language as the emails that I had been sent directly from Mohela, my loan provider. The person I spoke to on the phone had information about my federal student aid account like the names of the cosigners on my loans, the amount of my outstanding debt, and other account information that led me to believe I was in fact speaking with a credible agency working with the government. The letter they sent also had the DOE's seal on the letterhead. Superior Services offered me more affordable monthly minimum payments along with partial loan forgiveness after I paid a fee for the processing and servicing transfer. Looking back, I see this as a red flag but at the time I asked a lot of questions and "***************************", the representative I spoke with answered all of them and seemed legitimate. He took my bank information and he began charging me $49/month all while Mohela, my loan provider, switched systems so I did not have access to my original account to see late fees racking up. Now I owe my loan provider $950 worth of late fees on top of the money that Superior Servicing took. I was desperate enough to believe that this agency was receiving government funding to help me pay off my loans while still affording groceries, but this was clearly a scam and I am in a worse place than where I started.
