On 10/25/23. I went on there home page and entered all my personal info and pushed submit thinking it was a government web site than it asked for 329 I than knew it wasn't government site I would like govt assist to delete all my personal information from their system Thanks ********Business Response

On 10/20/2023. I applied for an EIN and paid $329 . This company poses as a government site. I could have gotten the number free on IRS.gov. Within a few hours after realizing this on 10/20/2023 I contacted them via email requesting a refund - they refused via email. I believe I have the right too cancel this transaction within the given time frame in the State of Ohio .

This business is predatory in that they are a sponsored link with popular search engines, which makes them the top of any web search. The design of the site mimics the IRS website in color and look as well, adding to the confusion. They then request the needed information to conduct an activity that can be executed for free. To make matters worse, they make it impossible to get a refund because their "policy" dictates after information has been sent to the agency, they don't issue refunds. Well the entire transaction, including receiving the EIN took mere mins, so that leaves virtually no time to request a refund. It was quite obvious that they see this kind of thing before because my lengthy email response from them refusing to refund me was sent to me within two minutes of receipt of my cancellation request (clearly a well used template). When a refund was requested, they specifically refused citing this impossible policy. I am also extremely concerned about this business retaining any of my personal information.Initial Complaint

I was in a hurry to file for an ***. It's my first time doing it, and nothing I had read suggested it would be free. This company charged my $329.00 to file! I thought it was legitimate because it (1) showed up first in the web results, (2) had IRS in the name, and (3) looked official. I believe the *** number I received as a result was in fact legitimate, but they are pretty obviously taking advantage of people filing for the first time. I think there's a very obvious case to be made for deceptive business practices.Business Response

This website is a scam. It is the first website to populate on ******* They charge money for an otherwise free service now all my private information like SSN is in the hands of a shady business. I was in a hurry to get my EIN for my non-profit to activate my insurance so I could start programming, and thought this was a legitimate IRS website. It was only after my husband called to ask why there was a $329 charge from a non- .gov website, that I realized I had been misled. I naively thought that the $329 was just what I needed to pay to process the EIN, but the IRS issues these for FREE. Shameful that "Govt Assist, LLC" is preying on the folks who don't "know the system" well enough to understand they're being taken by a scammer.
$329 for something that is FREE!!

The application was successfully processed the same day and the EIN was assigned and emailed to ************************ on 4/24/23 as well as a reminder email on 4/25/23. We did not receive any communication from ****** **** about being unhappy with our service. Per our Terms of Service, we have provided the Employer Identification Number as promised.
Our company, like many others online, provide a service which includes filing for EINs. We partner with other companies to process State Filings including Articles of Organizations, Articles of Incorporation, DBA’s etc.
We are a reputable company that has been in business for over several years assisting our customers as they navigate the challenging process of applying for EINs. I am rejecting this response because: this company may technically operate legally, however it is unethical to be preying on individuals who, unfamiliar with the filing process, unwittingly pay ridiculous amounts of money for something that is issued by the government for free. Yes, in the FINE print you make reference to not being a government agency - but one only needs to look at the MULTITUDES of complaints about this company on multiple sites to recognize that you are intentionally misleading people. You disguise your website to become a top hit when someone is searching to apply for their EIN, despite the fact that the BBB has given you a D-. As for the "services" you provide following acquisition of the EIN, they are laughable - and without question, not worth $10, let alone $329! I will thank you for one thing: making me a more savvy new business owner. I hope in the future that you can use your clever techniques to be more of a help to the world than to hurt it.
