      I’m writing regarding a late payment that came up on my credit report as a result of an account that was opened by M&T bank without me wanting the account.
      I’m a client of M&T bank since 2009. My relationship with them is related to my business account ***** ****. At no point was I interested in establishing a personal relationship with them. However, over the years I was pushed to open a personal account that I don’t use much. It is not my primary personal account. As part of this personal account I wasn’t interested in, they also attached an overdraft line of credit, that I’m also not interested in. I don’t think I ever went overdraft on my active accounts and it’s not a product I would agree to open.

      Over the years, I never checked this account and kept a minimal balances. However, I was unaware the account pulled a deposit from the overdraft account I did not know I had. I was not notified of this issue until 60 plus days after the overdraft line was pulled and a negative remark issued to my credit.

      This should be removed for two reasons:
      1. I never wanted to open a personal account or overdraft line
      2. The overdraft line should’ve been set up on autopay and been on my online banking. It never showed up as an open active account on my online login.Moreover, in case of a shortfall in the bank account, they should’ve repulled from the overdraft again until the overdraft was maxed out. Instead, M&T made one pull and allowed it to go beyond 30 days in order to tarnish my credit and collect unjustified fees.
      I'm in the process of working a business loan and this is causing real harm to me and my business due to increase rates and denials.
      I request the immediate removal of this inaccurate item

      I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. As stated, I was pushed to open a personal checking account that I rarely use. As part of the checking account they made me sign the Overdraft LOC without my knowledge and presented it as part of the checking account. I am not interested in having an overdraft line of credit and never was.  I only became aware of it when it was reported to credit as late. The LOC was not set up online to ensure I didn't notice it snuck in during account opening. In addition, if it was snuck in, it should've been set up for automatic payment, as is standard practice on overdraft lines.  The wrong name on the checking account caused by M&T not verifying my information may also be causing the mail not to get delivered, further inhibiting my ability to receive statements from my checking account.  I will be deciding if and what next steps to take to hold M&T accountable.

      M and T bank delayed delivery of my paycheck to my checking account on December 6, 2024 for 2 weeks thus causing me financial hardship. I request a compensation in the amount of $3000 (full amount of undelivered paycheck) for the major inconvenience and expenses caused by this delay of my principal income that I entrusted to M&T bank.

      EZChoice Checking (****) was opened online and appeared in the online portal with no issues end of November. I informed my employer the bank info and my employer attempted to make the direct deposit to my account at M and T bank on December 6. The deposit was returned by M and T bank without contacting me about any issue. I monitored my online banking with M and T bank that shows the account and was not informed about any issue.

      Attached are the messages and other phone call records, of attempts to pay my loan off in full. Due to M&T banks, "technical difficulties" and having called customer service 5 times, and getting no where, I have been charged interest now for 2 months. If they would resolve the issue, I would have been able to pay my loan off on 11/10/24, therefore NO INTEREST would have accumulated on my account. Due to their lack of customer service, my call has been disconnected multiple times because they transfer me, hang up, or put me on hold for several minutes and then the call is ended by M&T bank. I get no where and now have paid off the loan in full, that has accumulated several hundred dollars of interest that would otherwise have not been applied if they would have fixed the issue and allowed me to pay it the first 3 times I tried. Customer service says they cannot refund my interest and I should have just kept calling until I got someone to resolve the issue, but each time, along with multiple messages on their online banking, I get sent around and around, ending where I began. I again have now paid it off in full because I do not know what else to do, but they are literally SCAMMING me out of hundreds of dollars because they would not resolve the original issue that caused the account to go for two billing cycles.

      I am a landlord and have recently opened a new checking account with M&T bank in La Fayette NY. My tenants have different methods of payment. I have been renting my house to my tenants for 20+ years and have never had issues depositing their checks.

      When I brought in checks for deposit the bank flagged the checks as fraudulent. The reason Edward L*****, senior relationship banker, gave was due to "rent" written in the memo. When I asked a second time why they accused me of fraud, they accused me of not taking care of my rental property.

      M&T bank flagged my name and reported me to the fraud department. To resolve this, I spoke to Edward, the fraud department, and a customer service manager, Tina. Tina informed me that this must be resolved with the local branch. After 3 attempts, there is no resolution.

      I asked Edward to provide in writing, documentation of accusations against me. He refused and told me to leave the bank. I complied.

      My source of income as a landlord is being withheld. They are refusing to deposit, cash, or return the checks. Edward is insisting that I close my account immediately. Also, I asked him to file a criminal report to investigate the potential fraud. He refused.

      M&T said I should ask my tenants for another check, without providing written reason why these checks did not go through. My tenants have already paid for December. I cannot morally demand them to write another check when it was not their mistake.

      M&T blocked me from online banking and locked my account. I am not able to transfer my funds to ********, my retirement. They had misinformed me multiple times reassuring me I could continue transferring money to ********, when in fact they did not release my funds. Due to this, I received 3 ******** violations. Now my retirement account is locked.

      I need an official letter from the bank stating what I did wrong, however they are refusing to provide documentation and are withholding funds without proper justification.

      given any list as of 1/1/2025. Without this list, we don’t know what
      you want from us. PLEASE PROVIDE A SPECIFIC LIST so that we may fulfill

      our information was hidden from us because of an investigation of alleged
      fraud on the account, what is the fraud?  What is the result of your

      falsely stated in your letter that there was no fee of $35 for the alleged
      fraudulent check. I have evidence that I was charged $35, and I will prove

      is not true, the funds were sufficient, and I have paper receipts to prove
      it. On 12/11/2024 we were transferring $5,200 and we had available
      $6,021.26. All the evidence is attached. Since
      you froze our account and blocked us from viewing, we need a document of
      all the transactions and how much funds were transferred to ********. Every
      time we communicate with M&T bank we are being falsely accused of a
      different thing; this makes very difficult for people to trust you as a
      business entity.

      I asked M&T Bank to finance a new car I bought but the payoff check which was issued did not contain my account or my name on it with the result it was not paid for two months. The charge for two months until I found out what was the delay of the payoff was $741.66. The fact that the payoff check from M&T Bank was not being paid was a mistake which shows negligence. I asked the manager, Mrs. Stella B*****, to admit her mistake, since she was the one who officiated the check and she admitted it. She asked me to be patient and that she tried to pay it herself, but it's been 5 months now and she avoids my calls. I didn't want to make this complaint but now I see I have to. The M&T Bank branch is in Gaithersburg, MD. There's is reported information you can find out like the copy of the check and the delayed time it was finally paid off. Please consider the complaint because both the negligence and the amount I am due are real. Thank you

      My answer to the complaint #: ********      these is a big shame, and I can't help thinking *** is included. My 2019 investment with MTM Bank disappeared in June 2023 with my M&T vice president financial adviser **** **** and his Boos *** *****  These is a no *******, when my CDs under ********** Account # ********** matured the money went into my financial adviser ***** account under my name account **********.Everybody is hiding behind ***, the money matches at ***, no body looks at the 15 pages of evidence I sent over and over to the M&T Bank and everybody who tried to help me.                ********** kept track where the matured CDs went, it is all in the 15 pages of evidence, the Bank has it and *** has it the entire M&T Bank Headquarters in M&T Laza in Buffalo NY.       I am writing to formally address several ongoing issues I have experienced with your bank over the past two years, which have yet to be resolved and are now jeopardizing my upcoming property closing.

      Over the past two years, I have received multiple harassing phone calls—often daily—that have caused considerable distress. Additionally, on more than ten occasions, the bank has sent individuals to my residence. These individuals have trespassed on my property, looked into my windows, gone in my fenced backyard, and in some instances, I had to contact local law enforcement to report their actions as harassment and stalking. I have security footage and license plate numbers.

      I have communicated with Patrick G****, the Vice President of the bank, via email, and he apologized for the incidents and assured me that such actions would cease, which they did not. He also confirmed there were no outstanding fees on my account. However, upon reviewing my account in preparation for the sale of my home, I have found multiple fees that should not be there.

      I have reached out to the bank several times to address these discrepancies, but despite waiting for over a month, I have not received a response. My attempts to contact Mr. G**** have resulted in my emails being forwarded without any resolution, and I have been passed between different representatives with no concrete assistance.

      This situation is now urgent, as my closing date is set for December 18, and these unresolved issues are causing delays in the process. I request immediate action to remove any unwarranted fees from my account and ensure that all matters are resolved before my closing date.

      I expect a prompt resolution to avoid further complications, and I would appreciate direct communication from the president to finalize this matter.

      On September 26, 2024, we made the decision to sell our motorhome to ***** *******. He provided a down payment and subsequently sought financing from his bank, which revealed that the motorhome had a salvaged title.

      To clarify, we contacted M&T Bank, the financing institution used at ******* ** and requested a copy of the title. The title we received showed no discrepancies. However, when we took this title to the Florida Department of Motor Vehicles, we were informed that the motorhome indeed had a salvaged title from Missouri and had been rebuilt in Indiana. At the time of our purchase from ******* **, there was no mention of a salvaged or rebuilt title, which would have influenced our decision not to buy the motor home.

      Additionally, during our ownership, we encountered issues with the odometer, which began to set itself backward. We took the vehicle to **** **** in Seffner, Florida, for repairs, but our bumper-to-bumper warranty from **** **** was canceled because of the odometer malfunction issue known by ************. This warranty was heavily promoted during the sale process at ******* **.

      It is important to note that we have spent thousands of dollars for repairs since we took possession of the motorhome from ******* ** (Receipts can be supplied). The motorhome was titled in New Jersey, where we received similar claims regarding its status, though this was not reflected in the title itself. We feel that this entire transaction has been misleading, and at our age, we cannot afford such complications.

      We have made attempts to work with M&T Bank regarding this matter, but they have been uncooperative, insisting that the title in their possession is clear. Furthermore, we have learned that ******* ** has since been sold and is now operating as **** ******* **, following 25 consumer complaints.

      I was made aware that M&T Bank is now my mortgage servicer on 12/7/2024 by a non profit stating that I am behind on my mortgage payment. I did not know that M&T bank purchased my mortgage and is now the servicer. I have not received any correspondence from them indicating that they are. I have the funds to get the account current but need a correction to my credit report. How could I make payment to them when I did not even know they are now the servicer. When I called to business, the woman on the phone confirmed they had the wrong zip code on file for me and the wrong phone number on file.

      Hi Kevin,  The business confirming the zip code with the county is irrelevant. It's the wrong mailing address and **** did not deliver the mail. The mortgage representative at M&T bank confirmed in September, October, and November had mail return to sender. Further, on December 9th, 2024 I called in the update the address and phone number. The representative also confirmed the wrong number on file. The phone number was updated in their system on December 9th. I also confirmed with the mortgage representative yesterday, December 23rd there is an Audit history in their system reflecting the update to both my address and phone number on file. Additionally, they confirmed the mail sent to me was return to sender. Further, if they attempted to contact my new phone number, an ordinary ethical business would leave a voicemail. Have M&T

      Hi Kevin, The business confirming the address with the county is irrelevant. They should have confirmed the address with **** as all attempted mail were returned to sender from September through November. This was confirmed to me by two different individuals within the M&T organization. Further, the phone number and address matching with **** is now due to me calling in on December 9th to update both the address and phone number. To confirm, I called yesterday, December 23rd, 2024 and spoke with the mortgage representative (Sierra/Ciara) that there is an audit history in their system showing my phone number as ************ before the update on December 9th, which appears to be a mattress company. So when the representative responded to BBB, they did not do their due diligence to see when my phone number and address were updated in their systems. Additionally, if they were successful in contacting me, they did not leave a voicemail or send any mail requesting signature like an ethical company would do.

      ***** *****I have confirmed on two different occasions with their Mortgage advisor that there was return mail. It was impossible for me to receive mail as my home is in a new built community. We did not have mailboxes up yet. Further, there was no evidence of any voicemail or contact from M&T. Any person/business with common sense would leave a voicemail when trying to contact someone by telephone.
