      The last Sunday In I went to a M&T bank and deposited approximately 3000 dollars. It was around 12:30. It took my money never deposited it and I haven’t heard from the company I have went during business days and called repeatedly and still nothing. I received nothing in writing and I would like to stop using the bank because of that but I don’t want them not to return my money. I feel like they are try to keep it and the atm I used had cameras that they could clearly see! I would like someone to reach out and I also would like my money back! I think it’s poor customer service for me the client who has been with them for years!

      I met up with a guy that i met online he stole my business savings account debit card he went to the bank atm and post office several times and withdrew roughly $9,000. i immediately called the bank froze the account, got a new account and started the dispute . the bank can see him on their ATM cameras With my card (without me being there) withdrawing writhin a 24hr period. i don’t understand how the bank did not send me a fraud or security alert. i did everything i needed to do i did everything they asked me to do and they are still not giving me back my money this happened almost a month ago . i would like your help in getting back my money. i keep my account over 10k every month i am a good customer and i never been in a fraud situation. i just want my money back. please help

      I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. i have nothing to d with the fraud that was done to my account my money is supposed to be safe and ensured with m and t bank now they are stealing from me too . i have NOTHING i’ve been saving my money with them for 3 years and i’ve never been in any situation like this they did not even alert me or lock my cars when the person was stealing out of my account . I NEED MY MONEY BACK!

      I am a former ******** ****** customer. They were bought by M&T bank and the promise was " the service and baking will be the same". Well I have contacted them several times about their debuting practices. With ********, there was a time of day that all debits were reconciled by. With M&T, I can check my account at 11pm and be in good standing and wake up at 6am to fees and overdrafts. Not everything shows as pending. I have contacted them several times and they say that there is nothing they can do. Also, they restrict you from transferring monies from 1030pm-6am. So If I do notice a debit late at night, there's nothing I can do about it. There suggesttion is to pay for over draft service to transfer from my savings.... that's my money. I am.very unhappy with their corporate feel and miss the personal service of ********.

      Dear M&T Bank. I am a Federal Government Employee, and a Veteran, who like every other government employee receives their biweekly paychecks via direct deposits. I have been a faithful member of M&T Bank just under 10 years now. And have been faithfully entrusting M&T Bank to accept and deposit my Government Direct Deposits which are issued by the U.S. Department of the Treasury. On June 29, 2023 M&T Bank failed to deposit my biweekly Government Paycheck. I contacted M&T Bank both by visiting their branch located at **** Grant Ave, Manassas VA, and I also Called their 1-800 number and spoke to Customer Service Representative. Both gave me conflicting information. The Local Branch Representative informed me he could not see any pending/incoming deposits. The Customer Service Representative I spoke to on the phone stated the opposite that they could see the pending deposit and that it will be deposited July 3, 2023. But M&T Bank has still failed to deposited my biweekly US. Government direct deposit. The funds should have been automatically deposited on June 29, 2023. There is no reason for this delay. M&T Bank then tried to get me to do their work for them by asking me to go back to the U.S Government Employer Parole and beg them to give me a second paycheck for the same pay period. All because M&T Bank didn't want to give me my money that had already been submitted to them by the U.S Department of the Treasury on my behalf. The resolution I am seeking is for M&T Bank to provide me with my most recent biweekly paycheck, that money does not belong to them. I am a hard working American Veteran who just wants to serve his country and get compensated for the job he has already done. Is this to much for a customer to ask of a financial institution? M&T Bank as a loyal customer of almost 10 years, I ask you to deposit my government pay check so I can pay my bills, my mortgage, and provide for my family. This small gesture by you has a major impact on me and my family.

      M&T Bank suddenly changed their transactions for deducting money out of my account. They are taking money out at Midnight for the day prior and not giving an acceptable amount of time for you to put money in the bank. so even if you put money in the bank from the date your notified you still get charged and overdraft fee. you can see from the attachment the notified me the next day of a transaction for the 26th. which the charged me a fee for. this is one of many and they have been doing it for my husband too.

      In this matter its not just about the overdraft fees. I have been banking with Peoples bank for many years and since it transferred over to M&T things seemed to be running the same with some minor exceptions. The company (M&T) advised me on a recorded line that I have until the end of the business day to put funds in my account if My account goes into the negative. that's how most banks work to help the lower middle class if we run into a bind, However over the last 4 months or so I have noticed that they will post Debits at 1:24 AM in the morning and date it the day before. When I asked the M&T rep, She stated that they were not notified until Midnight. So to me... that means if they are not being notified of a transaction until Midnight 12:00 AM that falls to the next business day. I feel this is very unfair treatment for people who are already struggling to wake up to a negative balance and already have no way to help the situation because it was dated the day before.. so even when I scramble to put money in by end of day I still get charged a fee. So even though I appreciate the bank refunding a few of the fees they have charged me, it doesn't change this sudden spike in the way they are debiting transactions. I hope this information is helpful and hope other people have also said something because it really isn't right.

      Car loan was paid in full on 2/7/2023, called M&T several times to get the title for the car. Each phone call i am promised the title will be sent out. This will be the 5th month of trying to get the title.

      On May 24, 2023, PayPal issued three separate refunds of $61.88 to my closed M&T account, but the money was never bounced back by M&T. PayPal did an investigation to make sure that the funds were successfully delivered to M&T and verified that they were; they provided me with an acquirer reference number (ARN) — a unique number that tags all credit/debit transactions—that proved that M&T collected my funds. I’ve been told that searching for ARNs is a standard banking procedure used to locate funds.
      M&T continuously claims that they don’t know where my funds are and that they have no way to search for my funds using ARNs (the ARN that PayPal provided is ********).
      This issue has been ongoing for over a month and M&T is continuously unable and unwilling to help me. Right now, I just want my money back.

      I am writing to file a complaint against M & T Bank regarding their unethical and unfair business practices. I have been a customer of this bank for only about 2 years now and have never faced any issue until the last few months/

      In the last few months. my mortgage has been revised three times, which is highly unusual. Normally, the revision takes place in October, but this year, I had to face issues three times. My account was revised in August 2022 which added an additional $60. then in Oct. 2022 which raised my account additional$100, and lastly in April $200 which raised my mortgage payment to $800 per month.

      Moreover, I constantly make extra payments weekly, and when I make these extra payments for my balance, the bank never applies them to my account and instead places these funds in a suspended account and tells me that I am over 60 days past due.

      I have no idea why this happens, and the bank never communicated a clear reason for this action. To make matters worse, the bank charges me late fees and initiates a property inspection without informing me or sending someone to inspect my property.

      I find this behavior completely unacceptable and believe that it is a violation of the ethical and fair practices that a bank should uphold. I have tried contacting the bank several times to resolve this issue, but I have received no satisfactory response. I believe that M &T Bank's actions are fraudulent and suspect that they are using these tactics to extract more money from their customers.

      Therefore, I am requesting your intervention and assistance in this matter. I would like to file a formal complaint against M & T Bank with the Better Business Bureau and ask that you investigate their practices promptly. Please let me know if there is any additional information needed from my end.
