      Customer of M&T bank filed a dispute on transaction. Later customer placed another 2 orders with us, and we received another 2 disputes, after all customer recognized all transactions, apologized to us and called bank to cancell all disputes. Bank charges her again gor those transactions, which she gave screenshots from bank statement. But bank didnt transfer or notified businesstrack to return money to us. We contact business track and send faxes to M&t bank bit no responce. This is shady practice. I want my money back to me as transaction were verified and legitimate and you confirmed that by charging customer again as reversal. Please its taking 2 month already. Case# :

      On 5/13/22 I made a purchase from ***** **** ***** **** ****** *** ****** *** ***** in the amount of $90.05. This purchase was returned to the merchant on 05/14/22 and a receipt was obtained. I never received a credit and I notified M&T Bank which is the credit card company I used for the purchase. On 6/6/22 I spoke with Courtney of M&T Bank and she stated a letter would be sent with a fax number to provide documentation of the credit. I never received this information so I called again on 6/28/22 and spoke with Courtney again this time she provided a fax number. I faxed my credit receipt showing the merchant processed a credit for $90.05. A letter dated 06/23/22 was received and it stated they did thorough review and determined they were denying my claim. I called them again on 7/6/22 and Danielle stated I would robe notified by mail in reference to the claim. I never got anything by mail and in fact on 08/17/22 Michelle of M&T stated the claim was closed at this time. I am providing supporting documentation in reference to the claim. All I desire is my credit for $90.05 plus the interest I have been charged from May 2022 until this case is resolved. The merchant lied and so did M& T Bank because if your investigation was so thorough you would have discovered the supporting documents and issued a credit in a timely fashion. Obviously someone failed to do their job and was very incompetent!

      I went into a M&T branch, June 24th for a cashiers check ($1924.14). The cashiers check was lost by UPS. The bank has refused to place a stop on the check because I didn’t have a pink copy of the check. This information was not disclosed when purchasing the cashiers check, that the pink copy was the only way to stop the check. The bank has their tissue copy and a photo copy of the check (they confirmed). They know the check, they know it is outstanding but because I don’t have a “pink” copy, they’re unable to help without me getting a bond. This is ridiculous. All information about a product should be disclosed upfront. While dealing with this issue I still needed a cashiers check and obtained one from my other bank (PNC) who does not have this same process in the place and if the check was lost/stollen they confirmed it could be stopped in 2 days.

      Aug 16. Appx I go to the bank and see a customer service rep. I ask him for proof of payment on paper from my m and t credit card. I paid for a service monthly and I need the records printed out and sent in as request ed due to identity theft. So about 0930 I seen a white gental man and he said we send out for this and its $5. But you can do it at home for free. So I said thank you. So I went home and tried it. I do have to go back seven years and print out payment for each month. So I come home and try to follow directions but I cant and it wont print. So I go back to the bank around 1400 thinking oh well whats 5 bucks and the white agent finishes with a customer and I started to get up but he walked past me and went to the back. 10 minutes later a i think his name was Fernando comes out and must have been briefed by the first agent he appeared to know the story. Well if we do it it will cost you $400. Well I am not going to do that go home and do it yourself. Now that may be fine for some people but
      He also told me he dose not have the man power to do it. It didnt seem like a high traffic day when I was there. I felt like he thought I was a pain in the xxx.
      I'm 68 years old and not computer savvy.
      I'm a 90% disabled by according to the veterans administration. I cant do it myself but $400 or more seems outrageous and of course.
      I want my records is all needed by a lawyer. I am a customer of M&T band for 40 years. It's only proof of payment to lifelock now called Norton. Why would he charge me like that. I mean its 2022, self driving cars, computers smarter that us come on M and T.

      To Whom It May Concern;
      I'm sending this letter in regards to a check that I received and deposited into my M&T bank account. The check was deposited in or about the 25th of June. The check was returned as insufficient funds and because of that the M&T bank claimed it as fraud.
      The M&T bank called me as doing fraudulent activity. Well I did not write the check nor did I do anything fraudulent. I trusted that the check was sent to me with good intent and it was for as payment for services rendered.
      All I did was deposit the check, I did not try to withdraw anything while it was in the processing. It's not like I wrote a bad check, because I didn't! The party that wrote the check should be charged as fraud and prosecuted not me.
      What I don't understand is how I can be doing fraudulent activity when all I did was deposit the check I have no way to find out if it is good or bad, that the job of the bank.
      But apparently its not .
      They would just charge the person that deposit any check that comes back as insufficient funds as fraud.
      That is unjustified in my opinion!!!

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID 17721018,  and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. Well first of all how does just depositing a check result in fraud? The fraud was on the person, persons or business that wrote the check!  Then there were no funds put into the account, further more there was no attempt to take  any funds out of the account!  Also even if I wanted to take anything from the account it was blocked.
      I also understand that there was a hold on the check until it would or would not clear.  Well it did not clear due to insufficient funds  So with your investigation whom did you talk to that said it was fraud? Because all your letter said to me that it was due to insufficient funds..  So I could not even get any of the funds that were previously in the account because it was blocked.  The definition of fraud is in a way to involve deception, especially criminal deception!  So how did I do any of that??  So unless you are blocking or claiming that just depositing a check is fraud to everyone, then it is discrimination on your part to me!
      A reinstatement of my account would be a reasonable resolution to this problem.  Regards,  ******* *******

      I purchased a motorhome from a dealer on about 12/10/2021. The financing bank for the loan is M&T Bank. I have contacted M&T on multiple occasions in order to get pay off information that I require to get the loan refinanced through my credit union. Each time I've made such an attempt, when I tell the agent my reason for calling, they say they cannot find that information, place me on hold, and eventually hang up on me. They are refusing to allow me to take my business elsewhere. Thank you.

      These thieving criminals, in response to our legitimate complaints against their bad business practices, have instead decided to abruptly, and without warning, close our checking and savings accounts, and to add insult to injury, decided to confiscate $20,000 of our money which is actually SBA COVID-RELIEF federal loan money and illegal to confiscate.

Suffice it to say that we could care less that M&T Bank has closed our account because we hate their bank and its shoddy services such as having no branch offices, but we DO care that they have stolen $20,000 of our COVID relief SBA loan that we use for day to day operating expenses such as employee/staff payroll so that they can support their families and children.  What right does M&T Bank have, to steal food and milk and shelter away from our employees and their children?  Such an evil bank this is, and we sincerely hope that this review becomes public on the Better Business Bureau website to warn others from doing business with this bank, and also to attract federal, state and local law enforcement against their corporate staff.  Regards,  ***** *********

      I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. What can we say other than the fact that this bank has used an arbitrary and well hidden "clause 13" that no one has probably ever read to literally convert (steal) $20,000 of our law firm money without authorization, permission, due process, legality, ethics, or morality.  To that end we maintain our legal and equitable position that M&T Bank has unjustly enriched and stolen from us $20,000, in addition to the ancillary damages caused to us by their abrupt termination of our accounts, merely for filing complaints against their deceptive bad business practices with the CFPB, BBB, FTC, NYS AG, NYS DFS, and other agencies.  This is a warning to other innocents who elect to use their banking services.       DUPLICATE COMPLAINT FILED REGARDING CLOSED ACCOUNT: Coming on the heels of my several complaints against M&T Bank with your agency, I have just been informed that M&T Bank, in addition to stealing the $20,000 that I currently have pending complaints with your office so that they can "return it sometime in January 2023," has also dishonestly turned off the notification for any and all credit charge backs through their M&T Bank Merchant Services company, so that I can never even find out if a new credit card charge back has been lodged since they abruptly closed my account in August 2022. This they are doing precisely because I have won 100% of all of my credit card charge backs against dishonest thieving former law firm clients, because we always keep signed retainer agreement contracts, detailed billing invoices, copies of hard legal work in well organized electronic and manila files, and other evidence which militates against losing any credit card chargeback. But M&T Bank, in their continued fit of bad faith, vengeance and retaliation for my having filed complaints against them with your agency, cut off our notifications through businesstrack.com and/or swipesimple.com, and now we have no idea if any credit card charge backs have come through since they shut us down in August 2022, and we can not even respond to them. This leads me to believe that if, and when, the date comes for M&T Bank to refund our stolen $20,000, that not only will there be nothing left, but in fact, we may wind up owing M&T Bank if they paid anything out to these deadbeat thieving lying former clients who may have done a charge back (because there was never any response from us). Please, as always, urgently investigate this incredibly dishonest bank and its contact Jacqueline ******, “Voice of the Customer” of M&T Bank, and advise.

      on 8/7/22 my mother tried to send me money via Zelle to my Bank account with M&T bank, there was an error message. When I logged on to my bank account and tried to use it an error message came up that i needed to contact M&T bank online customer service. on 8/8/22 I called and spoke with 2 separate individuals (a representative, a supervisor and a manager, I was on the phone for over 90 minutes and no resolution. I was told that my zelle was unenrolled, however, I did not unenroll it and the only answered i received was that it was done intentionally by the security team but they would not give me a reason as to why. I kept asking and they said i wasn't "prvy" to that information which i think is ridiculous as it's my account and my money. When i asked to speak to security team I was told they don't take private phone calls and when i asked to speak to someone in corporate I was told that no one would give me any information and that i should just keep trying and that i should find other ways to send money. I was never given any resolution just more questions and no answers. I have been banking with them for almost 10 years and I feel that i'm being treated as garbage.
