      Disappointed on the ratchet behavior Meagan from the fraud department displayed. I verified my self and it was confirmed. I requested to speak to a supervisor and they felt offended. So she blocked my account so I had no access to online banking. I have no problem with **** System so I can go to any bank I want. This checking account will be closed by the morning.

      No stars! 1. Discovered M&T did not paid three months' **** bills. Manager insisted I never paid them as no money was deducted from my account. Produced the confirmation numbers which appear after submit is hit. Couldn't explain them still insisting I never hit paid. Money was not deducted because the bank never paid the bills! 2. Dental insurance deducts automatically each month $100+. Suddenly 14 deductions show up, Insurance received only their one month payment. And the 13 additional debits?? Waiting to hear from CT Atty General's office. 3. Social security checks went in early today, always available for immediate use when *******. At 10:00 tonight, the SS payment was still pending! Many have end-of-month bills to pay but can't access their pending funds! 4. Needed cash quick--ran to M&T ATM Friday afternoon--closed! with long lines in the lobby. What a shame ******* sold out to this inept group. We're switching.

      They screwed up my deposit by putting it in someone else's account then told me I couldn't access it for 48 hours which has turned into 5 days. I'm removing my money and going somewhere I can trust

      Had an account for 6 months with them. Website would say unavailable 50% of the time I tried to log in or make a payment.
      Impossible to get a hold of customer service. Always on hold for 20+ minutes only to be redirected multiple times and given different information/directions each time I called as my issue was never resolved.
      Closed account and my headaches with them didn't end.
      Spent weeks trying to get documentation that my account was paid in full and copy of lien release. Told it would be faxed multiple times.
      Each day when it was not received calling and waiting on hold AGAIN to request same information. Today to be told they will not fax any documentation it can be mailed out in 1-3 business days.
      I need the documentation to get a check for $9,400 that M&T lost on August 22 reissued. Two months of our money lost because of their terrible business.
      Now we continue to wait and hope to receive a letter in the mail in the next 10 days or it's back on the phone on hold.

      Was a Peoples customer and was very happy. Have been on hold for four hrs with M&T who regularly blocks my account and says i need to spea with fraud dept...which may or may not exist as i have been on hold for 2 or more hours each time i call

      THE NASTIES CUSTOMER SERVICE PEOPLE WORK AT THIS CALL CENTER. THERES NOT A DAY THAT I NEED TO TALK TO SOMEONE THAT TALKS TO YOU LIKE YOU ARE GARBAGE VERY DISRESPECTFUL PEOPLE ITS UNBELIVABLE THE TYPE OF PEOPLE THAT WORK HERE. THE WORST SERVICE IN USA COMES FROM THIS PEOPLE. REALLY NASTY ATTITUDE. THEY SHOULD BE LISTENING TO THE CALLS AND START FIRING PEOPLE WHO CANT PROVIDE A GOOD SERVICE.

      This is not a very good bank, It has declined in service over the years. I had overdraft protection through my savings to my checking account, which I haven't used in sometime because I try to never overextend. Needless to say it happen and instead of the agreement we made they overdrew my account I called them and the customer service individual says she didn't see anything on my account didn't check, the representative was rude and I am going to find banking elsewhere after 10 years. They steal from you whenever they can and their customer service sucks. I went to a branch Saturday to discuss the subject and after waiting for some time seeing they had only several people working, I left because of the amount of people waiting for the same service.

      Worst banking experience ever. I have not been able to access my money since the acquisition. I thought I would transfer my money, but of course that did't work. As noted below, their transfer system doesn't work. Their customer service is non-existent. The online systems do not work. What is their solution? Come to a branch so someone can help you. The first time I was told this (one month ago), I was living in Alaska. Now I am in Ohio and just spent 3 hours on the phone with them. Transfer still doesn't work. They could see my attempts, but have no idea why it isn't working. Their solution again, go to a branch. Well that's reasonable, now that I am only 900 miles from the closest branch instead of 4600. RIDICULOUS.

      I've had my last frustrating conversation with M&T bank. I was with Peoples for ages and just assumed that a bank that was taking them over would be equal to the task of Peoples Bank performance. The online website is so difficult to move through. And today I find out that I can not edit the amount that a scheduled payment is set for. I need to delete the payment and start over. And I can't make personal notes about transactions that have already happened. Today they almost blocked our account because they weren't talking to my husband. The account is now and has always been in both of our names. Tomorrow we are moving our account to another bank. Please don't tell me to contact you directly. I tried that 2 other times before I could even get an answer today which is when you almost blocked my account.

      I am previously a people's bank customer this transition has been a nightmare. Zero customer service. waiting time is unconscionable.
      In addition, I am POA for one of the customer's no accounts were transferred to me. I have she has a chronic disease that unables her to do this type of functioning. I had to sit with her to try to get her point across & info to reps. It's absurd this is why people have POAs.
