My name is *********************, and I am writing this letter to lodge a complaint against flight TK185-Turkish Airlines ******** to *******, as well as demand a refund for the upgrade I paid for this flight. The details of my flight are as follow:Ticket ID: ****** (******)Passenger: ********************* Flying from: ******** to ******* Date of Departure: July 3, 2023 Time of departure: 6:40am Time of arrival: 9:55am Seat: 7F Upgrade fee from economy to Business Class: $1200.00 On July 3, 2023, I paid $1200 for an upgrade to a Business Class seat on my flight from ******** to *******. The seat's (7F) electronic controls did not work to move the seat into any recline position, movement of leg rest, or the overall comfort of a Business Class seat. In fact, the control for the seat's lamp also did not work. The crew was unable to get the controls functioning despite being reset and told that this was a newer aircraft. As a result, in order for the seat to even move into any other position than upright, I had to *********** member to adjust the seat. This was unacceptable for a myriad of reasons and definitely not worth $1200 price tag for comfort and price. In addition, the level of customer service for this matter was very concerning as the comfort for the price and seat were not even of economy class standards. The reservation itinerary for this booking was ****** (****** is surname). Overall, it was not a very pleasant experience, and I would like to state that this is not what I had paid for. This is exactly why I feel like I should be refunded for the amount paid to upgrade. As a result of this unsatisfactory and defective Business Class seat with the appalling $1200 upgrade fee, I am requesting a refund for this seat/experience purchase for flight TK185 on July 3, 2023.Customer Answer

At this time, I have been contacted directly by Turkish Airlines, Inc. regarding complaint ID ********, however my complaint has NOT been resolved because:
They are denying that the seat was broken. They have denied that the crew, especially the male member who was the one trying to fix the seat himself, was made aware of the broken seat. They have implicitly acknowledged that they have not or do not keep accurate records of equipment needing repairs because they stated that they had no record of anything needing repair on the plane in which I flew in July 3, 2023. All I requested was a refund on the seat as it was broken and not a true business class seat worthy of the $1200 fee. I would just like my $1200 refunded back to me.

I had book tickets for an international flight months ago, because the tickets themselves are very expensive and if made last minute would be double or triple the original price. My flight is now had supposed to have been in less than a month, and I just happen to double check my flight today and it had been canceled for weeks without any communication from the company, I had called to talk with a representative to only be told they cant do anything for me and then hanging up on me multiple times. I have somewhere to be for a family event and I have to find a new flight that it triple the price.Customer Answer

My partner (************************) and I ****** bought tickets on Lufthansa originally but our flight got cancelled and we got rebooked to Turkish airlines. So we never received a PNR or ticket number from Turkish airlines. We could not check in online with Turkish airlines and were only given boarding passes that were collected when we got on the plane. In ********, we were denied boarding because they figured we could not make the connection since our incoming plane was late, even though the connecting flight was also delayed. So we got to the connection flight before they started boarding but were denied since they resold our seats. They forced us to stay overnight in ******** and rebooked us on a flight the next morning. I had to pay 25 euros to get a **** to enter ********, and they took us to a hotel an hour from the airport and picked us back up at 3 am for the new flight. We finally got to our final destination (Naples) but they lost my luggage. They lost it for 6 days and had no idea where it was. On the fifth day they said it was delivered to my door but it was actually still at the airport, so we had to drive back to Naples from ****** to collect it, a 400 euro round trip cost. Since I had no luggage, I also had to pay out of pocket for toiletries and clothing, another 800 euros. I have tried to fill out a refund request form, but I cant do that since I dont have a PNR or ticket number. I have tried to call customer service to get these numbers **************************************************************************************************************************** a concrete way to resolve these issues. Hello,Me and my family of 3 flew from ***** to *** on 30th Dec via *********. Turkish airlines lost our baggage and they are unable to provide better compensation yet. We have ongoing case going on with them, but they are not responding very well. so far we see only about 460USD overall offered. I was traveling from ******* to ***** on Turkish Airlines flight TK0760 on May 7, 2023. This was a business trip in business class and a spent over USD9,500. I had a layover in ****** for over 4 hours and before boarding the flight from ******** to ***** I confirmed with the airline that my luggage is onboard. Upon reaching ***** in the middle of the night, I was told that my luggage is missing and it went to ******* and I should wait for 48 to 72 hours. I tried my best and made all possible efforts but there was a standard response. I traveled for this long journey for this one specific meeting and was shocked to know that I don't have any luggage. I had no choice but to buy a new suit, shirt, and shoes to be presentable. I made the purchase and since then trying to use the Turkish airline website to get their attention. Over the phone constantly refer me to go online and file a complaint whereas the website stated that the case has been closed. I have no other choice but to file with BBB. I am going to attach my receipt in the amount of USD ****** or AED *****. Please let me start by saying that it is now FEDERAL LAW for ALL airlines that operate in ******* to offer either a FREE 24 hour hold on a ticket OR offer a full refund within 24 hours of purchase. for any reason, on ALL flights GOING TO or ORIGINATING in *******. This is on the DOT.gov website. On top of that it is LITERALLY on the turkish airlines website with the exact same wording. on to my problem. On Feb 20, 2023 i purchased two tickets with turkish airlines on their website. I had made a mistake and bought the tickets for the reversed route of what i needed. so instead of ******** to ****** I purchased ****** to ********. im not sure how this happened but it did, thats not the problem. I contacted turkish airlines 30 minutes later to tell them that i wanted to cancel my tickets and get a refund because i had bought the reversed route. They told me that in order for them to refund me my tickets, i would need to purchase ANOTHER pair of tickets for my desired route/dates/etc in the same class and that after i purchased the new tickets, they would refund me the original tickets. i am uploading supporting docs that clearly show when i purchased the tickets, when i reached out to turkish airlines for the refund, when they replied to me and what they told me i needed to do in order to get the refund (which again is illegal), the proof of the new tickets being bought in order for me to get a refund on my original tickets, and finally proof of them telling me that they cant refund me for my original tickets after i bought the new ones because apparently something is different with the new tickets. i contacted my credit card company and opened a dispute which they denied because they told me that this wasnt considered fraud. I told them its illegal and their response was "we dont deal with the law" im at a place where i feel helpless and im doing everything in my power to avoid going to court. My experience with Turkish Airlines is nothing short of a nightmare. I almost missed my connecting flight in ********, because my first flight was delayed and NO ONE at the airport tried to help or at least direct us on how to get to the other flight, as a matter of fact, when I finally got to my gate after running for 30 minutes, the airport employees lied to me to send me to another gate. Pointing to the seat number on my boarding pass telling me that's the gate number I should go to. Instead of helping me, they tried to trick me and get rid me because they were prepared to close the gate. When I got to my final destination, I did not receive my luggage and they sent it over after a couple of days.I got COVID towards the end of my return and needed to change my flight, their website was down for a few days and I had to call them, the representative was not accomodating at all and did not understand what I was telling them 80 percent of the time. The asked for exorbitant fees to make the change arguing that there is a price difference between the two dates. That was also a clear lie, as I have screenshots of the airfare being the same on both dates (03/28/23 vs 04/12/23). On top of this, they told me they can't process this change because their system is down and I need to call back in an hour. When I did that, they jacked up the price by another 90 USD and told me the price has gone up. This is simply unacceptable!Customer Answer

I had a reservation with Turkish Airlines for a 2-way flight from ******* to ****** for myself and my 8-year-old daughter, depart June-25 Return July-18. They emailed me on 5/16 stating that my flight connection from ******** to ****** is cancelled due to "operational reasons" and indicating "You can make necessary ticket transactions via manage booking page on our Mobile app and Website." I used their app to find an alternative flight. The earliest date with a short flight similar to my first one, was June-29 so I booked that and continued to change my return flight to a later day to have the same trip length. But the system was showing I need to pay $400 changing fees. I contacted their call center at least three times and waited for at least 45min each time but they were extremely unhelpful and rude and said I should have been able to change my return flight under the same attempt at the app but since I completed the first change, the second change will be with a fee. However, the app only allowed me to change one flight at a time, so this was not even possible through their system (a little background is I know how to work with apps, I am a digital marketing professor). This issue is giving me too much stress. It is completely disappointing how they treat their customers. All I asked them was to change my return flight to July-21 with no fees, so I can stay with my family for a period of time I intended to. They already charged $4,000 for an adult and a child for this round trip, economy class. (As a note, the original return flight was having "reissue allowed with no fee"). Thank you for your help.
