1 starThere service sinks. They lie - they lie - they lie. I called to lower my services but what they said was that I needed to upgrade my boxes and router to fiber. Free. Free. Nothing is free. What they didnt tell me was that they had to rewrite my house. Drill in to my house. I needed four boxes. Two they were able to do but the other two were not **** tvs. The tech told me to buy new tvs that was his answer. Thats not acceptable. He called his manager and I was told I would get **** cable converters sent to my house. That never happened. Call customer service today to ask about the **** cable converters they have record of this request. Go figure. I was not very nice but was very upset with the way things were handled. All calls for optimum is sent overseas nothing in *****************. I just had to vent. My next all is to the main office in *****************.Review fromJessica C

1 starIf I could I would give 0 stars to altice. *******. Whatever they change their name to next. There have been multiple days on and off where there is no internet or cable once again. In our area there is no other cable service so we are currently stuck. Their bills keep rising. Their services get worse. None of these are due to weather. Multiple different towns. Multiple different days. Sunny weather, not windy. This is beyond horrible business. Their phones don't work so you can't report an outage. The outage map says no outages. Their phones dont work. The chat bot doesn't work. Its like a gaslighting, toxic relationship. Nothing seems to work for this business. We have to keep paying the rising prices, But we just get more outages. They need to learn to communicate what is going on. My husband works from home, can't go to a public wifi. So while having no internet were also losing money. This is beyond unprofessional. The service is unreliable. And the customer service is absent when needed. They will say it's an issue with a box and swap out your box and it has nothing to do with the box. 10/10 I can't wait till we have a competitor company to switch to in this area and I know there are multiple people who feel the same in this area. 1 starAfter seeing an add from ******* for a free $80 TV installation, we were wanting to get a station that we could not get over the air, so I called and was told ******* could provide the service we needed. He also said the installation fee was $100 dollars but he would charge only $50. Upon the installation, we could not get the main channel we wanted without paying an addition fee each month. The TV box was returned but I received an outlandish statement. I have been trying to straighten out this mess for almost 3 months. I finally was given a figure to pay that would clear the whole mess up. I paid that amount but since I pay my bills two weeks prior to due date, they claimed that I was past due on a payment. I am so tired of arguing with Optimum, I was given another figure that I paid. I basically had to pay for something that I was lied to about. To add insult to injury, my internet bill went up $10 a month after all this mess.Review fromANTONIA V

1 starI don't know there's so many levels to this complaint but what I can say is I've been an optimum customer from state to state on ******** for more than 20 years I came and moved recently to the new state of ***** and service myself with them here and continuance so they service me with a company called Altice to get my gateway so I could have my Internet so they set up with this company to deliver my box and my cables so I could be hardwired I'm employed at home for more than 20 years and optimum knows ******* anyway, there has been a dangerous amount of outages at least every six days since I've been with this local company it is beyond natural tornadoes earthquakes things of that nature it's just randomly comes once per week and when I have called When I have called to complain to optimum today the 13th of September 2024.Well guess what it's funny because my cellular company that I had to change to that services this beautiful small town of *************** ** they had services today and they share the same tower as I do that the one here that gave me the router box and hardwire setup well that company, that company including the ********** and the various honorable small business food chains guess what they had Internet so I noticed and I called optimum to let them know why am I continually suffering for greater than a year.Outages consecutively it never fails if it's not once a week you'll get a surprise and it filters in every 14 days, so I let optimum know today that obviously it is the technicians that this company has as their team at this branch office here the ones that gave me the box on behalf of optimumReview fromNoreen H

1 starWorst company ever, they don't close your account when you move and paid your last bill. When you call them up they put you on hold for hours and tell you they aren't out of the billing. Are you kidding me? The charge you another bill even though you closed out the account and moved to a different state. Stay away from this company and there should be something done about this. 1 starThis company continues to take payment in cash at store location only due to fraudulent activity on my account. After contacting the company repeatedly and being told they are reviewing my account which can take a billing cycle or two they continue to disrupt my service. 1 starService was disconnected on August 31, 2024 at residential address. Equipment was returned at an Optimum Cable Vision on August 31, 2024.On September 5, 2024 money was automatically taken from my account. The billing period is August 21, 2024 to September 21, 2024. They will not pro-rate the amount of money for the days I am not using this service. We no longer live at the address and they told us they do not pro rate a bill. So essentially they are stealing money from people. This is a multi million dollar corporation and they insist on taking money for the time that services are not in use. This is totally unfair to a hard working member of society. It is not right to conduct business in such a manner. 2 starsMy parents had internet service installed in their home on Friday, August 23, 2024. The technician who performed the installation was very polite and knowledgeable, ensuring all their devices were connected and working properly. He informed us that he would need to submit a request to the burial team to have the cable wires buried in the yard, which would take 7-14 days.On August 29th, no one came to bury the internet cables, so I called and spoke with a representative. They could not find an order for the burial and said they would need to create one.On September 9th, I called again and spoke with someone in tech support who escalated the issue because it still wasnt scheduled.I called once more today, September 10th, and was told by the representative that they cant get anyone out to bury the cables until September 26th. They also mentioned that my parents would not be charged for this service.This delay is completely unacceptable and a major inconvenience for my parents. By September 26th, the cables will have been exposed for over four weeks. My parents have a lawn that requires regular care, and they cannot maintain it properly due to the exposed cables. The request to bury the cables should have been placed immediately after the installation, and the burial should have been done within the promised timeframe. It is unreasonable that I have had to repeatedly call to follow up on this issue. Furthermore, stating that my parents wont be charged for the burial is insultingburying the cables should be included as part of the installation service, not treated as an additional chargeReview fromFrank T

1 starThis review is about Optimum Business I have been a customer of ******************** for over **************************************************** terms of quality and support.I sadly disappointed with their service and support. I'm paying over $200+ per month for internet service and my latencies throughout the day are anywhere from 40ms to 1800ms. This is a business service. I have opened 4 support calls over the last month and nothing has been done.The tech states the problem is with the upstream equipment not on location. It seems that there is no communication between the optimum tech and the upstream equipment department. I've been going on a circle for a month and the service has been unreliable since the beginning. Again this is a business service. They did not ever offer a refund for all this months (years) of unreliable service. That shows very poorly on their side. I'm sure they will be acquired by a bigger company. I can't see them being in business like this.
