      Optimum/Altice or whoever they are are crooks. A rep contacted me at work and said he's be quick, but he was anything but. He misrepresented the facts about the Affordable Connectivity Program at www.***************. After trying to upsell me an upgrade to 1G for my internet connection, I declined. He then said that the *** program was available and 98% of customers who apply are approved and to then call Optimum back with a code so that the upgrade fee would be offset by the $30 credit for qualifying through the *** program. Unfortunately, he failed to tell me that it's based on income, which means I don't qualify. I was at work, so I was not able to quickly just jump on my computer and interrupt my work flow. He also said they'd waive the installation fee and I set up an appointment to have my upgraded router. When I realized that I didn't qualify, I called Optimum back (and after getting tossed around and being given 3 numbers to call) and was able to cancel that upgrade and the installation appointment. I should have known better. The rep was buttering me up and told me how much they valued me as a customer and was very forceful in already assuming I'd take the upgrade by using language such as "So, I'm going to give you the upgrade..." instead of ASKING me if I would consider. He was very slick, and I will know better next time.

      Optimum gave me a faulty modem that didn't work correctly from the day it arrived. After they tried unsuccessfully to fix it remotely, they told me that a technician would have to come out to confirm that the modem was faulty and needed to be replaced. I was told that I would not be charged for this visit unless the technician failed to find an issue. The technician arrived and quickly surmised that my modem was faulty. He replaced the modem with a new one. He didn't ask me whether I wanted the modem replaced or inform me that there was normally a charge for this service, but I don't really blame him. He was great otherwise.A few weeks later, I saw that Optimum was charging me $80 for a service visit. When I contacted them, they told me that it costs $80 to receive a visit and that I would not have been charged had I taken the modem to an Optimum store to be replaced. I told them that I had been promised that I would not be charged, and they told me that they were sorry I hadn't been "updated", but that their policy is to charge for these visits.Again, I was told that a technician would have to confirm the modem wasn't working before it could be replaced and that I wouldn't be charged as long as there really was an issue. I wasn't given the option to take it into an optimum store.Optimum gave me a broken modem, told me that I wouldn't be charged for the service visit, and then charged me anyways.

      Had to call several time regarding that started in January of 2022, still no resolution. There was a promotion that got me into getting their service, but they were not able to fulfill it. I am very upset at the fact that I made several phone calls and each rep. said something different as to why the promotion was denied. At this point I am exhausted and will be switching to different service because they are more worried about giving away a promotional gift card then to keep a customer who has auto pay which equals to a customer who originally planned to keep the service.

      Demanding incorrect amount of money I've payed 3 times the amount of what my monthly **** and even cut off my service I've been a customer since 2019 and I'm being charged for bogus fees I have all bills dating back to when I opened account and screen shots of online account which states $0.00 balance due.

      This company does not offer good cable service. Since they purchase ****** cable my sound contuines to go out. It usually happens while I'm watching a movie. Everything time I call I'm told it's the channel providers problem, or they know of the problem and are working on it, or the channel is under maintenance, Or its your router, Etc.It takes forever to get a person and if you do get one they send your call back into the auto system.If you have other options for cable service you may want to check that out.****** *

      No wonder why they are rated an F. Optimum cable changes their billing constantly. The representatives have no idea why or how to explain the change in the ****. I had a three-month credit given to me and of course, it didn't go through. So the representative decides to try to argue with me. Glad the conversations are recorded that way I can prove they are committing fraud.

      Raising the bills without customers knowing. Doesnt help those who cant pay. And the credit extension was for 5 days they suspended 2nd day. Over priced internet goes out every so often

      Complaint against Optimum mobile and cable service in the *******, ** area and their stalling and near complete refusal to provide us with the required *** to transfer our cel service to another carrier. The stalling is obviously designed to get you to stay with their service, and a certain amount of this is to be expected. What we experienced went way beyond a polite push to keep you as a customer into the realm of near refusal to provide us with the information needed to transfer the service.The version of following scenario played out on about 4 successive calls to their customer support number.After providing a completely unnecessary amount of verification information and stating we were requesting a transfer **** we would be asked the reason which would be followed by an attempt to convince us to stay with their service. We repeatedly stated we were not interested, just wanted to obtain the **** They would continue to ignore the request and kept offering you another version of their service. After forcefully insisting for the **** we would be told they could not provide it and needed to transfer us to another department. You would then end up repeating essentially the same routine with the next person. One time, we were told that we could not get the *** without paying our **** and when we replied we would do that, were then told that we could not pay the **** until the next day. One time the during the transfer process, the call was hung up. Numerous requests to speak to a supervisor went unheeded.We then tried calling a different Optimum number and were transferred to what seemed like a different location. After repeating essentially the same routine as above and stating clearly we were not interested in hearing any further offers, stated they either provide the *** or let us speak to a supervisor and that by not honoring this request, they were most certainly in violation of the law. At this point we were given the ****

      The worst company in ******* they lie they won't disconnect you they try to hit you with fake fees and services nothing about them is legitimate. It's nearly impossible to disconnect your service will take hours.
