1 starAll they do is lie and they don't care how bad their service is and they certainly couldn't care less about their customers. I've already written a review here on how terrible their service is but I'm doing another because I cannot believe how bad it can get. I've had suddenlink for about 4 months. Not one day have I had internet all day. NOT ONE! Every morning is hours of off and on the internet, so I get kicked off business calls constantly. I can't even put in an online order without being kicked off multiple times, God forbid try to watch a 15 minute show! The service is an absolute joke! For the first 2 months I was patient. I called them weekly and they would fix them problem for a few hours, then the disconnections would start again. Incredibly frustrating doing this every day. On top of that, my phone won't work so I can't call anyone. In early June, when a guy came out to service my internet (for the third time) he told me that they were laying all new lines which is why the internet is so bad. He said the work was to be done by the end of June and then it would be much better. It is now July 26 and it is worse than it was before. I'm kicked off for HOURS at a time. But the most frustrating thing about this company is its absolutely lousy customer service. I've had to make 4 calls today just to get it canceled. All internet companies are bad and they all have bad customer service, but this one takes the cake. They will Lie over and over and over again, but don't dare get upset about their lies or lousy service. Not one person at this company gives a ****, no one! They are rude, smarmy, smart ******, and their managers clearly don't care because you can't even get one on the phone. STEER CLEAR OF THIS ****** SERVICE AND ****** COMPANY. Nobody will respond to this because THEY DON'T CARE. If you don't actually need internet, phone, and don't plan on ever trying to get help over the phone, this company is for you. They are terrible!Review fromMalombe T

1 starThe most terrible and fraudulent internet and tv business service provider ever! They constantly get the **** wrong and overcharge. The customer service representatives are all rude and not helpful. Choose another service provider than deal with the hassle of this terrible and fraudulent businessReview fromKevin B

1 starAbsolutely terrible. The internet will be down for weeks at a time with seemingly no reason why. No communication when it will be back up. Cant get in touch with a rep and if you do they cant give a reason why its down either. I work from home, but I can barely do that since the internets always down. Hey Suddenlink, cant pay you if I cant do my job! And they keep raising their price. Scam, an absolute scam of a company with a monopoly in my area. Avoid at all costs. Even though ******** prices are ridiculous and you have to fight them to get an affordable price, at least they actually gave you internet. Wish they were out by me now.Review fromEria G

1 starSuddenlink Communications (Altice), disconnected my cable, internet and phone services. I called their customer service/technicians line and got the runaround. No one could tell me what was going on. I spent 30 hours trying to get someone to tell me what was happening and why. Finally, I was informed they had to lay cable lines under the street in front of my home in order for me to continue receiving their services. I was told it would take approximately three (3) weeks to complete. Their technicians came to my home and **** painted lines from the street to the back of my home and across my front lawn. They didn't offer me options to use while they completed this task. This was unacceptable and I went with another company. Currently, they have their electrical/utility box, on my property, open. I've called several times requesting someone to come and close this box. To make things worse they told me I owe them $100.45 because of their cancellation policy. This was after one of their managers called me to advise me my account was current and paid in full. They asked if there was anything they could do to get me to use their services again. The answer was, No. This policy was new for me since I had been their customer for 13 years and had never signed a contract. I have never been treated so poorly. I believe Suddenlink Communication (Altice) is trying to make a money grab or extort me. They have sold this "debt" to two collection companies. I will not give this horrific company my money for services they didn't provide and couldn't provide per their technicians.Review fromPaul D

1 starIf there was a way to give a negative star rating, I would. Trying to work from home is near impossible as their service continues to drop. I spend more time using my ******* hotspot than I do using the internet that I am paying over $100 a month for. **************** has yet to correct any issue, and each time I do contact them, they at first claim there is no outage in my area and have me reboot my hardware which I have already done prior to contacting them. And after a while they finally admit to me there is an outage in my area! There is always an outage in my area! They are the only provider that we have access to and we cannot afford to move to a location where there is better internet. They just need to give us what we are paying for!Review fromBreard H

1 starI pay a good amount each month for my internet and even went out and bought my own modem in order to get the speed of internet that I was paying for which was sad because I really missed out over the years. Now my internet is going in and out especially at night it's horrible but it's the only service around here that offers high speed internet which is sad. The problem is that they have too many routers on their nodes and they need to upgrade especially since more people are signing up with the free government internet. I like the speeds when it is working but this is ridiculous and something needs to be done about it and the people that are in customer service are in another country which another problem all together and the phone robot is no help either, if I had another choice I would go that route because this is just sad all around.Review fromSeneca G

1 starThis is by far the WORST service I have ever experienced. The internet service is extremely slow. **************** is rude and useless. I was approved for the emergency broadband benefit which I then set up with optimum. They never increased my internet to high speed as required with this program. They stopped honoring my benefit discount after 4 months without reason and keep telling me i havent been approved for the benefit even tho Ive sent them my application ID and photos of the emails. I am currently stuck with 8mbps download speed for a family of 4 when the benefit requires isp to give you a plan with atleast 100 mbps download speed. They are refusing to fix this and unfortunately in my area optimum is all that is available so Ive just submitted my complaint with the *** website against optimum for refusing to honor my benefit because I am low income and they are discriminating against me when they work with the acp benefit program. DO NOT CHOOSE OPTIMUM!!Review fromGw R.

1 starmy roommate and I have been on the phone with Suddenlink or waiting (3x) for a specialist to call Us ALL DAY. We have talked to at least 10 people and spent HOURS on the phone each. At one point, I even had to take over her phone so she could go to an appointment b/c we didnt want to start over.Apparently, the person who set up our account set it up with the garage apartment address instead of creating a new address for our account. They had already come out and turned it on IN OUR HOUSE before we got the **** and noticed the address error. We called just to get them to FIX the address and instead they SHUT OFF OUR INTERNET AND OUR NEIGHBORS in the garage apartment! Yall our poor neighbor didnt know what was up shes also been on the phone ALL day! They kept asking her for her address. Then they said she needed a new modem. Now they say we also need a new modem! We all had to set up new accounts. And now they want us to get new modems and wait 4 days for a problem THEY CREATED! So instead we are trying to use my brand new modem/router. They said if we paid $40 we could have the service connected with my personal modem tonight! But when they sent us to the tech he said it was impossible to have it set up until the 25th - 4 days and we have already been out two days and paid $40 TWICE once for each account! They literally took our money with the PROMISE it would be turned on TODAY! Complete lie! As soon as a new company comes to ***** we are DONE with Suddenlink or Altice or Optimum or whoever represents this company! ALSO, what is with their website? They are literally an internet provider and their website is ridiculously SLOW!!!! You HAVE to call because you cannot access anything online!Review fromColleen M

1 starOptimum/Altice lied to us about how much our services would cost and increased our monthly **** to an unconscionably high figure. When we had an issue with our boxes, I spent about 20 hours on the phone with various different people and had an in-person visit from someone, NONE of which worked to fix the simple problem (our recording capability had disappeared). We finally got smart and decided to cancel the cable tv part of our contract with them, keeping only the internet and landline part, so I called to cancel. I was EXPLICIT over and over that there is nothing they can say to talk me into keeping this service, so just put the cancellation through. The guy would NOT do it. Kept saying he's "working on it" then make me some other offer. I got him to tell me the new price per month and told him (AGAIN) to put it in and he kept talking for almost 50 minutes so I finally hung up and returned the boxes. The in-person guy told me that the cancellation was not put in and that I need to call and cancel by phone. You mean like I already did? I said No I already canceled and we're no longer paying starting today. He then threatened that Optimum will ruin my credit rating if I don't cancel by phone (which I had already DONE; I can't physically enter the cancelation in their system). So I go home to send them an email and I use the chat thing and they tell me: You need to call and cancel by phone. You mean like I already did? Then I mail them a certified letter. A guy calls me and says You need to cancel by phone. They deliberately keep customers hostage to FORCE you to agree to a new deal, by simply NOT putting in your cancellation! TERRIBLE COMPANY!!! The WORST!Review fromCintya B.

1 starI have been a customer for ******************** Cable since January 5, 2022 and signed up to their service that is supposed to include a $200 Gift Card with their Purchase Promotion. I have been in contact with multiple customer service representatives over 2 months trying to acquire my $200 Gift Card. Everytime I have called their customer service center, an agent has said that I will be receiving my gift card through e-mail or mail between **** business days. Like stated before, it has been over 2 months and still no gift card. Today, which is July 21, 2022, I called once again and their representative stated 'the issue has been escalated as of yesterday, July 20, 2022,' which is completely unacceptable since this is an issue that should been resolved over two months ago. Current day, this issue has not been resolved and this has been the worst customer service I have ever experienced. When I signed up for the promotion, I signed up for Autopay which deducted $5 off of my **** every month and the service rep told me today I have an outstanding balance of more than $400 and I am no longer eligible for my gift card promotion. This is a company with unprofessional and inexperienced workers because if they were able to view my account correctly, it is obvious that Autopay is set up to avoid any late payments since this feature automatically takes payment from my bank account. I am so dissatisfied with their cable service in my area and their customer service. This has been the last straw and I am tired of having to contact this company every week to get my issue resolved. Given multiple opportunities to get my issue resolved, I have no other choice but to report this to BBB to get resolution! Please avoid cable companies such as Optimum because you will be dealing with representatives that give you the run around and push you off to the next agent just to avoid dealing with your issue. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY on a company that offers poor customer service!
