I canceled service 8-5-2024 with knowledge there would be a final prorated bill coming in the **** mail later in the month. I received the bill on Friday 8-23-2024 and on Monday 8-26-2024 received a threatening phone message to pay the outstanding bill immediately or it will be turned over to a collection agency. The bill didn't state a pay due date, but in a call to Mediacom, they divined it was 7 days after receipt which they obviously cannot predict precisely, and which is why the bill SHOULD state a due by date. The fine print in the contract apparently says Mediacom requires 7 days' notice for cancellation, so 7 days were added to the cancelation date for prorating purposes though they terminated service instantly on 8-5.

Mediacom has some of the hands down worst service I've ever experienced from a service provider. I work from home. This is how I make money to pay bills like Mediacom. However, I've only lost month this month as my internet flickers on and off, since the end of July. These a******* keep sending out the tech (who is great, by the way) and he verifies the problem is not in my house but in the entire area, therefore it's a maintenance problem....but someone at mediacom cancels the maintenance request and says it's fixed. I am so angry right now I could spit nails. This is my life and livelihood you mentally deficient @$$hats. Most recently the email tech support dodo told me that the problem was my router, but that was not it at all...no stable signal was coming into my house. Also it takes roughly 3-5 days for a tech to come to my house and this is not the tech's fault. They are very busy because maintance doesn't actually fix the problem for the entire area who are out so they just drive from place to place verifying the problem really is the line (still/again) and filing an maintenance report that will be cancelled later by someone who can't figure out the problem and thus assumes it's fixed. If you weren't the only option in my area, I'd never go with you as a service provider.

I attempted over the last couple weeks to make payments to my parents' account, as we are taking over paying their bills now. One agent asked me to get standard info (account #, password, etc.), and gave me a phone number to send a power of attorney to. After obtaining the info and calling back, the customer service employees bounced me around only to tell me that I would have to drive 3 hours to their service center to give them a copy of the **** When asked what the fax number was for, they just change the subject. I wish these people nothing but the worst.

We have never had usage of another cable company except Mediacom. We have been their customer for decades. We temporarily d/c'ed service once due to needing a brief break after child's birth for monetary reasons. Other than that, we have had never a break in service except those imposed on us several times a week per Mediacom. Our service enters our home from a utility pole situated across a 4 lane highway. Every time it rains, the wind blows, or a reason we cannot discern, all of our services provided from Mediacom go out. This is not the only problem. The internet service coming into our house is very slow. It causes television to drag, the circle to spin and spin on computers. Every single day our home phone, which they advertise as SO important to have, goes out: no dial tone. No receiving or making calls. Even my cell phone won't work. We are both senior citizens, and this is at the least dangerous, No way to contact emergence services, family, or family to contact us.I have have had these same discussions with Mediacom agents. I feel it is grossly unfair for them to bill us and as this is a several day /week problem. I tire of texting and calling to notify them of the same problems over and over. We believe they stem from poor placement of the cable on pole across the 4 lane highway. It is so unstable. Thank you sincerely for accepting this communication.***** ******** *****************************************

Someday soon; society will get to the point where internet service is recognized as vital - similar to other utilities. And when that happens: scam companies like MediaCom will go under - their rich executives will have to give up their cash cow and sail into the sun.Receiving the internet service that I pay for is how I'm about to do my job, pay my bills, and afford food. (Work from home)My electric goes out maybe once or twice a year. In between outages - it's completely stable. MediaCom Internet is out a few times per month and is very flaky in between.MediaCom really needs to ramp up their lobbying and scammy practices to the *** if they want to milk all they can before they're required to provide decent service (which will force them out of business).Hey MediaCom, (for the betterment of society) your days are numbered... hopefully... unless corruption wins...

After requesting to get my services disconnected they tried to illegally bill me (which is not apart of the paperwork you have to fill out nor is it apart of the billing online and is only on the paper statement you would receive in the mail if you dont have paperless set up) for service I would not be using after the cancelation due to switching internet providers the overseas customer service representative threatened to leave my services on after telling him that what media-com is doing is illegal he was unprofessional and disrespectful

Do not provide the service as advertised. Interest and Cable TV out for six days, they know there is an issue but keep saying they are working on it and give me an appointment for next week. At first they say there are no issues then I get a blast text stating they are working on known issues and I will get a text when it has been fixed, no text that the issues has been fixed for three days. This happens every three to four months. Looking at another provider as soon as they install fiber in my area. Horrible service, call center that can do nothing but apologize for being able to do nothing, no service technician in the area to address issues. BBB needs to address the false advertising from this company.

Avoid -- don't even talk to them. I reacted to their advertising to look into switching my internet provider and it turned out that they are engaging in deceptive advertising. The advertised price saving is only good under very narrow conditions like first accepting a devise rental and then canceling in the first 30 days and they charge you multiples of $10 if you exceed your monthly data limit. In the end they wanted to tuck on an activation charge of $120 that actually wiped out more than 50% of the advertised savings. When I said I was not interested the sales employee put the order in anyway and it took me all day to get it cancelled. Hopefully somebody can take these "service providers" out of business.

Ive had a main cable wire above ground draping over multiple backyard properties for well over 2 years. I have called Media Com. In 4 different events in this 2 plus years of a span to have this cable buried with no action on their part to resolve. I have given each time the proper location and specifics of the cable being above ground and they have always replied they would resolve it, but still no action has been done. I cant understand why a communication company that provides a service for internet/TV wouldnt want this cable buried in a reasonable amount of time to protect there asset of there grid as well as the liability risk for customers to lose service if the ********************** would be damaged or even be a trip hazard.

Mediacom took 100 from my account under the guise of setting up my service and have been in contact regularly for a week with an ETA of 8 AM to 12 PM on estimated install date just to turn around and tell me that its a delinquent account and they will not be setting up service and not be refunding the money. corrupt company, I would rather steal from customers then build a compatible relationship
