I can see why this company is not BBB accredited! We were having problems with our cable. They insisted that we had to upgrade to their new system. Since then, the cable is out at least 2 - 4 times a week! When you call them, their response is that they know it is out but don't know when it will be fixed. For the amount of money we pay, that is unacceptable! If you have a choice, run from this company as fast as you can!

Mediacom has been the worst experience I've had with an ******** "Service" Provider ever. They have constant outages. They oversubscribe in my area, so despite paying for 400Mb/s service, sometimes I was lucky to have enough just to watch a single streaming television show in the summer evenings. There was the rate increases. Every year, the price went up. At this point, I'm paying $120/month for this flakey service, 3x what I pay for a fiber connection at another house. This service was more trouble in the first week than all other ISPs I've had my entire life. And that was just the beginning. Two years, in order to ensure I actually had working ********, I installed a ******** 5G cellular gateway and it put, plus my cable modem, on a load balancing router with failover. That worked, but added another $50/month. So I cancelled that earlier this year. Yesterday was the final straw. Service went out completely. I called, and they denied there was an area problem. They'd have to send a tech. This morning, they report an area problem, one they won't get to for 8-days from the failure. So I went out this morning, picked up a newer version of the 5G gateway. It's performing well. Then I go to cancel. Tried calling... no response after 20 minutes. Tried online. I know they're one of these awful companies that doesn't give you the option of cancelling directly online. I was able to a human on online chat after another 15 minutes. That did very little good, as she couldn't cancel the account either. After a total of 1 hour 12 minutes, she tells me someone will call within 24 hours. I might have at least found the hack for that... I described how I was on the BBB site filing a complaint (well, actually a review, but whatever). That seemed to press the right button... I got a call in 4 minutes. So I guess it didn't really take 24 hours after all. I did, finally, get them to cancel. Avoid this. If any other ISP works at your house, use them.

Terrible company -- avoid like the plague. Called to cancel -- they said they need 7 days notice ????So will be billed for 7 more days -- the rest will be refunded 4-6 weeks later. After 3 weeks new bill for 2 more months of service -- called, on the line for 30 days -- said their system has a bug, so accidentally reactivated my account. Will take another 7 days to cancel a service they activated without my authorization???They cant provide any date on when refund will happen, or the cancellation will.Avoid these crooks at all cost

Terrible & Scam Behaviors. Would not cancel our service after calling them. They informed us that it was a call for upgrading service, not canceling. of course this is a way to try to get us not to cancel and get more money out of us. Avoid this company at all costs- their internet service ***** anyways and you overpay for extremely slow speeds.

Call made to media com to discuss why internet service is not working for multiple days when paid for service .Rep stated account was disconnected.Ask multiple times to speak with a manager rep continuously placed me on hold and did not speak with a manager. Rep continued to mention to me the transfer service for the upcoming month however the purpose of the call was to discuss today for not having service for multiple days not the upcoming month. After stating I only want internet service for the month of July.I want to cancel my service for the upcoming month of August. I am informed I need to have a callback for cancellation of the next month.I am disappointed with the service received.

When your Internet works 1/4 of the time and you call customer service, they tell you that you need to upgrade to allow your already expensive Internet to work. Not, "we'll send a technician to look into this for you. We are sorry for the inconvenience". If there is a change in requirements to make your internet continue to work, that should be on them, not the customer. This company is a joke and is only trying to s**** over the customer. **************** is non existent.

MediaCom sends, through email, two different amounts you owe. You have to call them to find out what you actually owe. If you aren't calling from from the number you have on your account they absolutely will not change it because they need the numbers off the back of the modem never mind the fact that they are to small for some people. I gave them my full name, address, the last four numbers of my social, my email address and my PIN number but because I could not give them the number on the box they would NOT change my phone number. You CAN'T the $10..00 off your bill if you want a paper bill even though you signed up for auto pay. Customer's need and deserves to get their paper bill in the mail. Every company you deal with wants you to download their app. Don't they realize that takes up your memory and you can't download what you want.

My modem was returned to their drop box, they continued billing me for it. I called, they stated they would look into and get back to me, Instead they reported my account to the credit agencies. I called again, they insisted on proof of the return. How can I prove putting it in a dropbox? I suggested they get rid of their dropbox if this is their policy. I can't return it because it was already returned. I can't prove it because I didn't video the return. They actually suggested I dispute it with the credit agencies.I am not paying the $143 for returned equipment if it has to stay on my report forever.I'm adding my voice to the comments already on here. Mediacom doesn't seem to care about quality or customer service anymore, ******************** thinks its too big too fail.
