Price goes up every year for loyal customers, meanwhile new customers are lured in with low promotional prices. This effectively punishes customers for loyalty. Service is inconsistent, outages are frequent, equipment is awful. As a remote employee, long term outages cause me to have to lose paid time off, which they rectify by crediting the days servicea sum of $3, when the *** I lose for a days outage amounts to $270 (more than double my monthly bill). They charge whatever they want and treat you however they please because there is no competition.

This is the worst company ever. Someone needs to do something about this. Our government is totally failing us here. Mediacom just sent out an email that the customers who currently have 300 mbps will lose their service and are automatically being upgraded to 500 mbps - but not by our choosing - by their choosing. Oh and did I mention they want $100 ******* dollars to do that? They are forcing us to upgrade yet we have to pay the difference. This sort of business practice should be illegal.

I was told they offered service in my area,. I setup and install and paid the over $200 fee. During the install I was told that there is no service in my area and couldn't connect me I called to see the issue and was told on three separate phone calls and their text help line that the issue was resolved. I waited 18 days for the next install and the tech said the same thing as the first guy that he couldn't connect me. They charged me $987 and sent it to collections after I returned my old equipment from a previous address. I had to move due to an electrical fire damaging my home. I'm a disabled Veteren and have been trying to rebuild my life.

This is not a complaint about service but more so the pricing practices Mediacom has been doing for years. We are limited on other company options or this would not be an issue. Multiple calls over the years as they change our plan without our consent then tell us because our plan was changed they no longer offer it. Then we were told at one point they would keep raising our monthly cost til th u got us a a certain dollar amount a month. Then they brought back a decent priced package for internet then less than a year later changed our cost again so we again called and they put us back on our pricing plan for 1 year. Again less than a year (it will be a year in October 2024) received an email that they again are doing away with our plan and forcing us to got to a higher cost plan. We have zero need to go to a higher plan for a family of 2. Cost will go from $34.99 to $49.99. This is NOT customer service. If we could leave ******************** we would we have them for no other service because of these practices. Review rating should be "0".

The worst business I have ever dealt with. Unprofessional and unreliable. I am switching services asap. I will lose $250.00 deposit but I just can't deal with them. They lie, don't show up on time, left twice without finishing the installation. And I still don't have Internet or TV. Horrible, awful. Please don:t use them!!

MediaCom is a complete rip-off. Highway robbery. This company is full of lies and deception. I've done what each representative asks me to do but the next representative always states there aren't any notes in the system and they can't do anything to help me. A recent representative (Jaz #4c6) told me on 4/6/24 that she actually sees in the system where the retention department can provide a great discount for the service of internet only. She said I would most definitely receive the loyalty discount, but the retention department would have to call me back and apply it. So needless to say, I didn't get anything resolved again during a phone call and pushed off to another department like usual. I again obliged. The retention department called at approximately 0905 and I was speaking to an Asian representative named "***". After asking me to verify ALL of my information on the account, she places me on hold as she looked for any promotions to offer. She was clacking on her keyboard and had me on hold for 10 min with her occasional reset line for the customer to continue to wait. Only to come back on the line and offer me the same thing that Jaz, a regular customer service representative, had to offer. If *** could pull it up in less than 1 min, why would it take *** 10 min? I really believe *** wasn't going to help me in the first place and only wanted to make it appear as if she was doing all that she could to offer me absolutely nothing. I requested to speak to ***'s supervisor and she proceeded to talk over me and tried to stall me out while she placed me on hold again. Finally, ***, gets on the line and again offers the exact same as *** and Jaz. Apparently MediaCom only has a whooping TWO plans to offer. A 1GB plan that's $125/mo and a 300MB plan that's $80ish/mo. A multi-billion dollar company only offering TWO options. What a rip-off. I only had internet service and my bill before was $50/mo for 1 gig but skyrockets to $125? I cancelled my service. You should 2

Mediacom is horrible and one of the most deplorable businesses that I have ever dealt with. Several people had outages to cable/internet on 2/27/24. My initial call was placed on 2/28/24 to report the outage and the representative was aware of the affected areas, and indicated that a credit would appear on my next bill. I received the bill yet no credit, so I placed another call on 3/22/24 and I requested to speak with a supervisor due to the matter not being rectified. The representative advised a supervisor would reach out to me within ***** hours, no one ever called. My next call was placed on 3/25/24 and was advised that the credit was approved by a supervisor, after being on the phone over 30 minutes. I was advised the updated amount would appear within 24 hours but it didn't. My fourth call was placed on 3/27/24 when I spoke with a supervisor who stated it shouldn't have taken that long to credit my account. My issue is that if I don't pay my bill, my services will be disconnected quickly. That same quickness needs to be provided when a customer is due a credit. I wouldn't recommend Mediacom to anyone, they are absolutely the worst in the business.

We disconnected our service on 3/9/24 after paying our final bill. I returned the equipment the same day we disconnected the service and was told we would get credited $95 back on our account. We just received a bill for $124 for the next month. I called customer service and all they could tell me was to disregard the bill and said they dont know where the credit of $95 on my account is coming from. They are trying to take money from us and not honoring the return of equipment refund. This company is terrible. Do not use their service for anything. We've only had problems with them and if they would have just been true to their word about cancelling the service and giving the refund there wouldn't be a need for this review but instead they are committing credit card fraud.
