On 02/01/2023 I sent a business check for $3000 to ******** management company for rent. The management company uses **** ** ******** About 2 weeks later, I was contacted 2 weeks later by ******** management company that **** ** ******* had informed them that a check payable to them was trying to be deposited in another bank (Citizen) and into a personal bank account. I had contacted my bank and informed them and also spoke to representative in Citizen. I did file a claim but the funds were withdrawn instead. I have been asking more 5 months to get my funds back. But I keep getting that there is an investigation. I get no further answers or updates. My bank is covered by FDIC but refuses to refund me.Business Response

So I have an account with ********************** a friend sent me a zelle transfer money they owed me. They a week passed by and they went and disputed the charge with there bank im beyond frustrated because I cant even access my funds Im already late on my rent and I dont have access to my funds. This is an inconvenience for me because my funds and being withheld from me and that against the law to do so. I have to wait till July 20th in order for me to have my money chase isnt trying to help me and no one seems to care I keep calling and telling them this a valid charged and this shouldnt have happened to me. I was scammed 2-22-23. I did not find out that I was being scammed until after I had followed instructions and deposited the money at Chase Bank. My bank *** told me I was being scammed and I went back to Chase and they still had the money (same day). The way I understood it, they froze the account. I have been trying to get my money back since then. About 3 weeks ago, the ******* of Chase, ************************* told me I would not get it back myself but PNC could get it back. When I tried to set it up between the two banks on a conference call Chase said I needed to get a lawyer to write to Chase. I filed a police report per Chase and took it to Chase. Now they are telling me I had to have a lawyer send a letter. The police think they are trying to keep my money.Business Response

I recently decided to close my brokerage account with **********************. The first time we called, chase said they will put the money from my brokerage account to my checking and itll take a few days. So we waited and it didnt happen the way they said. We called chase again and this time they said they cant transfer the money because our brokerage account is linked to a savings account which I have no idea what that is. Basically they said the money cannot be transferred but they can overnight me a check and the $10 fee is on us, and I agreed to it. I need the check urgently because Im only in US for a few days and leaving soon. I waited a few days more and still no check coming. So we had to call again, and dont mention all the time we have to wait calling customer ********************. This time they said they messed up because they forgot to leave $10 in my account to pay for the overnight fee so they couldnt mail the check. Oh wow, great answer! Not apologetic, no Ill waive the fee and send you the check asap, simply saying theyll mail the check and make sure they keep $10 in my account to pay for the fee and gave us a phone number to call again if I dont receive the money. THIS KIND OF POOR SERVICE IS NOT ACCEPTABLE!!! For the whole time they messed up things, no one tried to call us and let us know the issue, we had to contact chase multiple times to find out about the issue, and they dont care they could mess up something so simple, dont even mention they were sorry for all the inconvenience theyve cause us. 3-6-23 I sent a mobile check deposit to my Chase personal checking account The check was made out to someone else, this person endorsed the check over to me (back of check has both our signatures) chase put a hold on the check 3-7-23 I contacted the bank to confirm that i did make the deposit.The customer service rep informed me they needed to verify the payees identity. I explained the person is terminally Ill &cannot go into a local branch &thats the cause of the endorsement At this point they told me they could verify with their phone verifiy system The first # I provided to them did not pass which left me puzzled cause the phone# I provided had been theirs for years 3-9-23 I called Chase attempting the phone verifiy again but this time we used the payees wifes phone #which had also been a primary contact #for years (same plan as her husbands phone #They called #&was actually able to speak with the payee himself &did the verififyprocess &it was complete The rep confirmed the verifiy was successful &funds would be avail in 2 hours 3-11-23 I called Chase to findout the problem &they toldme the verifiywasnt done&Ineed to bring the actual chck&my IDinto a local branch. 3-12-23 I went to a local branch &as instructed I brought all the reqd docs &there they told me the payee would have to come in person to the branch as well this was never explained to me &again I explained the illness of the payee They told me to get a good phone #that is linked to payee to verify his identity 3-14-23 I tried another phone # with Chase &it was unsuccessful Chase closed my account The business the check was wrote from has now closed All this seems to make the endorsement procedure quite useless to me &how did we pass the second phone verification but then the next day we didnt?Why say youallow endorsements if youre dont approve them? I sent a wire through **** ** ******* to Chase on 6/21/2023. The wire was held for review by Chase. Chase requested additional information, which was provided on 6/23 and 6/27/2023. Chase is still holding on to my money as of this am (6/29/2023) and is refusing to release my funds for me to close a business deal. **** ** ******* advised me to contact Chase as they are not responding to their inquiries.However, when I called Chase, all I am getting is the runaround and was told they cannot discuss the issue with me since I am not a Chase customer.BUT---they are holding onto $150,000.00 of my money. For 7 days. This is stealing at this point. I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# ********, and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:A message was left on my answering machine saying Chase cannot provide me with any information, and that the recipient of my wire ( a Chase customer) would need to reach out However, he was told by his Chase private banker that he needed a Fed reference number to trace my wire.
Chase however, would not provide me with the reference number, since I am not a customer. So one ******************** representative is asking me to provide a reference number, that another Chase representative says they cannot provide to me.
The Executive office seems to be backing the theft of my funds by ***************** Chase. They are not trying to help
their message to me was that they are not going to respond to the Better Business Bureau inquiry, so for them to say that they called me and addressed the issue, they are lying. They have not addressed the issue at all.
chase have held onto my money since 6/22/2023 and have refused to provide any information or updates, and have refused to return my money
I received another call yesterday (July 11, 2023) from Chase, only because I filed a complaint with ************************************* The conversation was yet another dodge. Chase refused to provide me with an update and refused to return my money, and only wanted information to respond to my federal complaint.
I have also filed a police report with my local police department over this theft, and have filed a complaint with CA attorney generals office.
I have an appointment with the local *** office next week to file more complaint. I am also contemplating a lawsuit to get my money back

CHASE hid behind the we cant disguise somebody elses account with you even though CHASE had MY money, and also refused to speak with the account holder, where the money was going to.
I did receive my money back, after filing multiple complaint, issuing recalls, and threatening a lawsuit. I sincerely believe that, without MY effort, CHASE would have been successful at stealing my money.
I have my money back from Chase, and will make every effort to discourage anyone from banking at Chase. What they try to do, was criminal and downright disgraceful.

My Chase debit card was declined at ******* this evening 6/28/2023 I talked with 6 reps from Chase Bank this same evening.One rep informed me of lock placed on my account due to 3rd party lack of payment.I asked what company was it from.Rep informed me it is from ******************************************* is my former neighbor.He accidentally sent me $11.00 on June 8, ***** via Zelle. I left him voicemail that same date letting him know and asking him how I can pay him back (he probably did it by accident because he has overall neuromusclular disorder.)He didn't reply to my voicemail.I left him another message on FB messenger (attached copy of this message page). He didn't reply.I left him voicemails and text messages this evening. He texted me letting me know he is currently in hospital. (this person goes to hospital often. He is sick from head injury, poor diet, high medication usage along with *********** Disease and psychosis. I thought we were friends. I have moved away from ** in March this year now I'm in **. I disagree with Chase Bank placing hold on my account now allowing online bill payments to go through and maintaing this lock while it is under investigation for an unknow amount of time. I now need to bother staff at the nursing home I work at tomorrow to have my direct deposit changed to another back or to receive a check.Business Response

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# ********, and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved.They didn't contact me to nake me aware that there was a dispute that was connected to me and they went ahead and locked my Chase debit card; so I was unable to checkout my groceries along with my credit card locked due to missed payment because Chase locked that payment.
I had to call my sister for help. They had to wire me money. I was crying at ******* parking lot.
The other person whom is disabled accidentally zelled me $11.00 dollars. I messaged him and left him a voicemail asking for his zelle name so that i could return it. He didn't reply. My Chase account was locked from that evening until the next am when I had to call back to request it be turned back on. They should of gave me the option to be able to return his money instead of unknowingly lockinng my account. I work hard and I'm on my own.
This should if been resolved before locking my account. Do they actually have the right to do that? I could if been far away and needing gas. That is the wrong decision to lock an account without any warning to that person.
