On January 29th, 2024, my business, MyStory Biographies LLC, deposited a $15,000.00 check from ******* ***** to JP Morgan Chase at the physical branch. ******* ***** sent us the check, and we have verbal, audio, and written approval from him authorizing the transaction. Upon deposit, Chase notified us that they suspected the check to be fraudulent and attempted to contact ******* *****. However, their calls went straight to voicemail. Chase informed me that they would ban the business checking account within 10 days if they couldn't verify the check's legitimacy.
I called ******* *****, and he claimed not to have received any calls. While on the phone with him using the number verified by Chase, we attempted to confirm the check in front of Chase representatives, but they insisted on reaching out to him. Despite several attempts, the calls were unsuccessful because Chase's 1-800 number has been identified as a spam number and was being automatically sent to the voicemail of my elderly, disabled client.
I requested Chase to call from a different, unblocked number, but they claimed it was not possible. Despite our efforts to verify the transaction, Chase's fraudulent phone number remained unresponsive, and they stated they had reached the limit of contacts, refusing further attempts. In response, I suggested returning the money to ******* *****, but Chase claimed they couldn't reverse the transaction or release the funds to us.
Clients who are deaf, lack access to wifi, are disabled mentally or physically to answer the phone, or live in assisted living facilities are facing discrimination due to Chase's unfair verification process. As a consequence of the stress of the transaction, our client has experienced physical ailments. Are Americans with disabilities and little access to technology not afforded the same rights and privileges in the US banking system as other citizens?

I have been with Chase over 20 years with all my business/personal affairs. They have always taken care of me which is why I have been loyal. I just had the worst experience with a Claims Supervisor who refused to assist me and make sure I was satisfied. After requesting to speak with their manager , they refused to escalate the call. So eventually he finally said someone would be calling me back. I hope that he gets dealt and my issue gets resolved. Because that really left a bad taste in my mouth and my problem still unresolved.

I had a transaction decline because Chase pinged it for security but when I called Customer Service, they say they are closed. This is poor service from a bank since people need access to their money 24/7. Why they offer 24 hours customer service when it is not actually 24 hours is beyond me. Very frustrating and dishonest.

I hate this bank. They have charges and fees for every little thing you do, and they're just a massive pain in general. I move hundreds of thousands of dollars through my account, and every time I deposit a check, even a cashier's check, they put a 10 day hold on it. I'm leaving them, as soon as I can, and the only reason I've been with them a year is because they have good business credit cards

I was a customer of Chase Bank and became a victim of fraud. The bank did nothing to protect me. I would not recommend anyone to bank with this financial institution.

All I see in the reviews and news is a lot of accounts mistakingly closed by Chase and terrible customer service. A lot of accounts targeted by fraud and Chase not backing the customer

They try to destroy small business. They bully their customers, and implement "seat-of-the-pants" rules to withhold your money. I have plenty of documentation to back this up. There are plenty of banks out there, DON'T USE CHASE!

Chase’s dispute department is horrible. I bought something on Depop that arrived without the product inside. The 3rd party seller already deleted their account and Depop would not help because the tracking number showed delivered so I didn’t know what else to do but disputed it with Chase. Well, they did exactly what Depop did and said the tracking says delivered so they could do anything either. Now the CUSTOMER has to either claim with the shipping co to get the item value credited back. My DISCOVER card would have taken care of me. Shame on you Chase for not helping your customer.

I went to chase bank (**** ******** ****** ********* ** *****) to take out money every week like I always do. I used the ATM and had to go through the process of completing the transaction 3 times (because the money didn’t hit my account yet) before I can get my money but on the 3rd try it was given to me from the atm machine. I took out $220 and left thinking everything was okay. I most likely received receipts from the previous 2 transactions but I tossed them in the trash because I have a paperless account and all my transactions show up on my account. (I’ve gone to the atm at this branch before and this has happened but I’ve never had an issue before)….anyway I get home and notice that my account shows 2 of the same transactions around the same time and an extra $220 dollars is missing. I still didn’t think anything of it because it’s happened before and they just cancelled the duplicate transaction. This wasn’t the case and after a few days the money wasn’t returned to my account so I filed a dispute and they sent me a new card. 2 days ago the dispute came back denied and the took the money back leaving my account in a negative balance. So I called and spoke to a manager about it and now the case has been reopened. i am currently waiting for a decision on the dispute.
my complaint is i feel like a thorough investigation wasn't done on my behalf and i am a long standing customer with chase. the cameras on the atm can be checked to see that i only took out the money once and also a count for that machine can be done as well and they should have an overage of $220. Im not a thief and i am honest and i just want my money returned to my account. why should i have to suffer when it was an error of the ATM machine.
