      Amex travel is designed to literally steal customers' money. Their cancellation button doesn't work. But their purchase button always does. The cancel button will spin for minutes and then 'fail' mysteriously. Then they will not refund. Their customer service chat will disconnect after a minute if you are not present. But if they do not respond for 5 minutes or 10 minutes it stays open. Absolutely horrible and corrupt practices by Amex travel. Be very careful

      I bought a gift card and less than two hours later all of the funds had been stolen. I filed a fraud case and it was denied. Two purchases were made over two hours from my home and one 23 hours away. No help from customer service.

      Nov 2023 I got a Delta Platinum card with a $250 annual fee with the promise that I would get 60k Skymiles, 1 companion certificate, & Skyclub entry. In Jan 2024, they took away the Skyclub entry. I called to cancel my card but was told that if I cancel before Nov '24, I will lose the points too. Since I at least have the companion pass, I decided to keep the card. Today, I went to book the companion pass ************ could not locate it so they asked me to call AmEx. I got an agent & was told I get the companion pass only when I renew the card & pay the next annual fee of $250. This is not what I was told. I was transferred to a 2nd level agent, ******, who was very incompetent. I asked for the companion pass to be issued as promised or to cancel my card. I was told, he cannot issue a companion pass, until I renew my card and pay the new annual fee. So then I asked to get the $250 refunded back & take away any bonus points I got for signing up. I was told that if I cancel now not only I will not get any money back but my points will be taken away as well, This is a total FRAUD by ****! If you are not capable of giving me a companion pass, or my money back, then why would you keep my $250 AND take my bonus points back for canceling the card? I feel like they are holding me hostage with a company I am DISSATISFIED with! The worst is ****** telling me there is NO ONE else I can talk to & he would take my complaint but not give me an email confirmation, other than ticket# *******. What am I to do with it? So if you have a dispute with another merchant, **** will 100% take care of it for you...if you have a dispute with ****, there is nothing they can do, in ******** word "IT'S IS POLICY! I have been a customer with them since **************** this year I have contacted them more than 7 times for this & giving my minor child access to my entire account by linking my existing **************** address to him. Screwed up my perception of them and their service...I AM DONE!

      Terrible company. I've had my card with them for around 3 years now and suddenly they decide to cancel my card. I've always paid not just on time, but early. I've always paid in full. It seems that they prefer customers who don't pay their bills.

      My normal card that I use got frozen I went to a store and purchased this company card... Iwas trying to pay for my hotel though *********** and this company had my money on hold for 3 days they told me that they could not reverse my payment and Oh well I just have to wait until 3 days witch I didn't have.... I would not use this company ever and I'm looking into a lawsuit for causing and conflicting emotional distress..

      This company is awful , I have had to call in over 8 times questioning why MY ACCOUNT still has a hold on transactions that are completed in the amount of ******** for hotel charges , these transactions are over 3 weeks old the hotels have completed their transactions , and this mo ey that is on hold should have been released back into my account, but yet all 5 transactions are remaining on hold , when I ask when they will release those funds , they tell me 8 days , 10 days , and now it's 30 days . You never get a English speaking person they are all Indian speaking people . And a they do is give you the run around .

      After traveling with my family to a resort in June, the resort was in terrible conditions, mold, bugs etc, we booked a new flight home. I contacted **** and they stated they were working on my refund, they completed the dispute in my favor only to reopen in 2 days later and charge me, I have reopened the dispute 4 times, for them to NOW tell me to contact the merchant myself. I reached out to the merchant but due to the time going by they're not able to resolve the issue now, **** has failed not their end by advising the customer how to proceed with a dispute, I have uploaded 50 plus supporting documents.They did not they to do anything to resolve this issue, they mislead me as the customer, they do not care about their customers, I will not longer use them for any future purchases.

      After being a customer for twenty years, never being late paying, spending an average of 2500 per month, they put a credit line limit on account that includes current regular charges, pay over time charges plus the charges that yet due for payment. The result of this was them rejected a $40 auto charge for tolls fees and consist warning that transactions will be rejected if a payment is not made right away. You become so dependent in handling your finances this way that it a cycle hard to break . But my goal going forward is to break this cycle and my relationship with American Express.

      Been a loyal customer for 15 years. Very good credit score ( *******+). Never missed a single payment. The one time I need to use most of my credit for a few months they cut my limit in half with no warning, leaving little leeway for alternate planning. No matter how good a credit you have, you cannot count on how much credit they say you have access to. Nor can you count on a heads up before they pull the rug from under your feet. AND they have absolutely no appeals methods that work for self-employed people. Be warned!

      American express has recently went downhill both with service quality and the customer service. Not a great credit card anymore!
