      I opened a new credit card with American Express in April after being their member since 2015.I told them right away if they can change my due date to 15 or 17th of the month as my other credit cards are. Later, I noticed in May my due date was not changed and called them right away. The representative said the changs always takes effect in the 2nd month, which I didn't know but I was ok with because I paid my bill that posted on May 4th.Now I noticed that they charged me a late fee on May 4th.When I called them now they said nothing can be changed even though I have a record of not being ever late with my previous payments on other card with them and even though I am new credit card holder for this new card.Not something I would expect from a respectful American Express company.Beware.

      Basically, I was charged a late fee because 'their' app needed an update and I was in ******** for work. Which of course means the app was not available. Somehow they gaslight the ish out of me and say it is somehow MY fault for not checking that the app needed updating before I left for work 3 weeks prior. Ill be sure to do that with all 173 apps on my phone the next time I travel. But not theirs as I cancelled the card immediately. This is just a bad look and I know they don't care, but just be aware of how they are doing business these days. This is a shame as I have never had any issues with Amex in all of the years of having their cards, but this was just unacceptable.

      The reservation (May 15, 2024 through May 19, 2024) that I booked at **********************, *** was advertised with a $100 credit to be used at the hotel (bars, restaurants, etc). The hotel refused to honor the offer. When I contacted American Express, they stated that combining hotel and flight reservations nullified the credit. No information on their website indicates that combining hotel and flight reservations nullifies the $100 hotel credit.

      Missed one payment in the entire 3 years I have been with them due to the app telling me my payment was set to be paid on the due date. Noticed the amount hadn't been deducted from my bank account, went and looked at the app 2 days after the payment was due and now I am being charged a $29 late fee over a $51 balance that I immediately paid once I realized the payment had never actually been made. **************** stated my account wasn't eligible for a fee waive, been a customer for 3 years and never let my balance go above $100. Immediately canceling my account and will never do business with Amex again.

      For the last THREE months I have been attempting to open an Amex Amazon Business card. After submitting my application in March of 2024 I have been calling 2-3 times a week to settle the matter. After submitting the original application I got a notification that I need to submit additional Information. I submitted it and from then on the cycle has persisted. I get no updates or response, I call, It takes me 30 min to get to a representative who can actually view the information. They say it is no good and ask for more info, I send said additional information and the cycle begins again. Upload documents, No answer, Call, Need new docs..Upload documents, No answer, Call, Need new docs. Upload documents, No answer, Call, Need new docs.Upload documents, No answer, Call, Need new docs. Three months of this process with the individuals on the other end promising that this is the last thing they need, that it will be quick, that they will prioritize the application, that they will correspond back and update me. Not one of these promises were fulfilled by the very many Marks and ****** on the other side of the line. I was told that I needed to get a bank letter head only to be told after submitting it by another representative that I never even needed to upload it. This whole experience has been so incredibly infuriating, like some kind of joke. In one word a Circus. Very unprofessional and insincere.Today I called back once more (06/15/24) just to be told that not only are the previous documents not accepted but the application has been closed! Closed and unable to be reopened they just told me to apply again. Yet another joke in this comedy.I have NEVER encountered even remotely similar issues with **** or Mastercard. As a business owner with a lot of things to do this has been an ENORMOUS waste of time.

      13 years a client. accidentally short paid by...$17. received interest charges of $700 two months later as "we charge interest on outstanding amount". this is stealth charging - and i was never told i had short paid nor warned of consequences. Amex hid behind the "the justice system has legally told us to do this". absolute nonsense - they are not financial partners. They are fleecers.

      I am fan of the product but I just had a horrible experience with their customer service providing me misinformation and losing out on a promotion that was active even though I was told it would take a certain amount of weeks and that I would get an email when activated (never got an email) I called to appeal and try to have them make this right but I was basically told better luck next time and to move on. Very disappointed on how this was handled and how American Express did not have the power to even offer something to make up for their own mistakes.

      Terrible bank to to get nobody in this bank speak English all scammers you have to give your whole identity just to verify they are practicing unsafe practices and banking and needs to be shut down

      I called to speak to an agent regarding an email I received but this company has agents with thick accents that I cant even understand. The email says my account is under a periodic review for a credit limit reduction unless I pay $3,700 in 3 days. My payment isn't even due for 3 weeks. The agent says she can't reach a supervisor for me to speak with. No one to talk to, no late payments history, no recourse. I want to negative stars. Beware of Amer Express.

      Horrible experience with their Executive representative. My husband had the misfortune of dealing with the rudest and most condescending rep. *** never identified herself and kept gaslighting him. As another customer reported. a credit report discrepancy caused his credit score to drop significantly. Hopefully, we will have better results with the *****
