      Terrible customer service with no compassion. I payed my credit card 10 days before due date and payment got returned because I had fraud suspicion in my checking account. I will use my points and cancel the card and make a tik tok to show everyone how evil and greedy Amex is. Never again

      I purchased an AE card and added $298.00 dollars to it and was taken by scammers. AE would not refund any, they closed the case. I'm wondering if AE and the scammers are in cahoots.

      American Express issued a Platinum Card (with annual membership fee $ 695) without disclosing the fact that there is a membership fee. before I activate the first card, Amex issued another card that has also had a membership price tag of $195. In total they are asking me to pay $890. I am not a business traveler. I do not need such expensive business card. I have two AmEx credit card that I use for regular purchases. I requested the company's associates calling more than five times to cancel this membership and remove the fee. They cancel the membership but not willing to remove the fee. Their customer ******************** associates are dishonest and misleading customers.

      Absolutely horrible experience. There are not enough characters to fully explain this 1hr call I just had and absolutely nothing was resolved. They have people in other countries tell us about what is legal or what is not in the **. How is that even possible ??

      Set up auto pay on the due date. There system processed it 2 hours late so they added a late fee. Every card I ever used waives the late fee especially as a first offense. American express refused and said I should have read the 30 page five print that says they have a cutoff at 8pm on the due date. Not the ACTUAL due date. Scam company definitely regret giving them my business

      American Express states that they can decline any advertisement and promotion whenever they can. I was not able to get my welcome bonus. As I talked to the different representative they opened a case and closed it the same day without any notice. Over a year later of asking what happen they cannot provide me any documents of why it was decline but states American Express can simply take out the offer whenever they want. As a consumer who paid for the card and its services, and spend money to meet the criteria which they agreed I met the criteria but decided to decline the bonus offer anyway

      I used my American Express Serve card for a hotel deposit at a whyndam resort April 19, 2024. The funds were released back to my card from whyndam April 26. 2024. *** reached out to them several times not understanding why they havent released the hold. I was told that they can hold the funds for 30 days. Ive used several credit cards for resort and hotel deposits and have not ever experienced this before. How is it that a company can hold on to your money, who is getting the interest on my money. This is really unacceptable.

      Gift card was used in a fraud transaction of $889.98 and they denied my claim. Won't help!! Unless company, NEVER WILL DO BUISNESS WITH AGAIN. Customer service ***** gave me 3 different emails address. Didn't want to put me to through to supervisor. Fix your broken system. Give me my money back.

      After being a member since 2015, I would like to share my crappy experience with the crappy company. On May 5th, 2015 I paid them from a new bank account. Unbeknownst to me I had added the number 4 too many times causing the $11,730 to return. Realizing my error, I called them and paid off the balance the next morning. Sadly, I had paid off two other accounts that day and all were returned. The guy who answered the phone assured me all was well. I was able to make the corrections and thinking it's an honest mistake life goes on. To my horror, I received a phone message asking me to call them. When I did, I was told to wait the next morning to meet my maker. I was surprised that my accounts were canceled because of returned payments. Please note who is willing to pay off their credit card on a negative account number on purpose. That day I paid over 17 thousand dollars. I was never informed my accounts would be closed for an honest mistake. The manager who spoke to me sounded like she was in ***** with no f****** compassion. Right now, they owe me money and I am waiting to see how long it takes to get my sums of money back once I completely paid them off. What a crappy company with no loyalty from them. Plus their c*** is not even accepted around the world.

      I have been an American Express cardholder for over 24 years. I currently have (had) two Platinum Business cards and one Hilton Surpass card. I pay my cards in full every month, usually through bill pay at my bank. One card payment due date is the 16th of the month and I didn't do the bill pay in time for March so I used my mobile app on the 16th (a Saturday) to make the payment on time from my checking account. Imagine my surprise when I receive my next statement with the payment posted on the 18th and a late fee of $39 plus interest of $657.41 (the new balance was $18,174.19). I called immediately and customer service removed the late fee but refused to waive the interest fee. I escalated the case and was told AMEX would call me within 48 hours. When I didn't hear from them (they said they tried, but no voicemail from them), I made my payment April 16th for $16,370.21 which was the prior balance minus the exorbitant interest charge. Well, next statement I receive there is an interest charge of $337.82 as a result of the prior balance not being paid in full ($657.41 balance). For a purported 2 day late payment, the interest charges are over $1000. AMEX refuses to reduce these interest charges citing 'trailing interest'. I have downgraded the business platinum card at issue, I willl cancel my other platinum business card when the membership period is up in June, and will cancel my Hilton Surpass as soon as I am certain I will not lose Hilton or Open points. I feel that the interest charges being levied are usury and it is my word against theirs that my payment was 2 days late. They have lost my membership fees as well as a loyal customer who did over $100,000 annually with them. I guess that doesn't mean much anymore.
