      I was an American Express Customer for 5+ years. During the Pandemic, I was unable to find a job. I contacted them to let them know I would not be able to make payments and was told I would not be charged late fees. Lo and Behold after the Pandemic there was over 700 dollars in late fees on the card and I was sent to collections. Since then I have tried to settle the over 900 dollar debt I should not have and they have been scamming me. 3 payments were charged. 3 payments were funded. One was returned despite sufficient funds on the account so they could null my pay off agreement and scam me out of the 700+ extra (illegal fees). **************** is a joke. Tried to argue with me that they called (they didn't). I reached out to check on the account and make sure it was closed a month later. They proceeded to argue with me about the payments and demand my bank statements. Worst company ever!!! They are scammers and thieves!! Avoid this card at all costs.

      Horrible company! Received my statement on 03/01/2024 sent payment 03/05/2024. Payment was due 03/13/2024. Naturally **** was late and AMEX takes 10 days to process a payment they counted my payment as late and charged a fee. Contacted customer service, they stated there was nothing they could do about the charge since my spending levels were low and I paid in full every month. I know that sounds crazy and it is crazy.

      I have a Amex CD, the year long term was up 12/23 I called them 1/24 to inform them not to renew and they were going to return my funds to my checking account. I've since called them 2-3 times and now it's nearly mid-March and I'm still waiting. One call I was informed the return of funds was being "reviewed" and then "they're still working on it" and my last call customer service reached out to a supervisor and I was informed that the funds would be transfered to my checking account

      Stay far away from this company. I had 3 accounts with this company. Two businesses accounts and 1 personal account. Businesses accounts were link on auto pay to different accounts. Personal account was link to a total different account. Some how they link all accounts into one with out my permission. Business accounts were paid in full and closed . Personal account was set uo on auto pay so I never worry about a payment being missed. Now I get a notice that a payment has been missed and is 30 days *****************. Told me there was nothing they could do to help me out. I never removed my personal account off auto pay. What scam.

      They sent me a brochure saying Id get a decision in 30 seconds but after applying, they say Ill get an answer in 14 days very disappointing dont fall for the golden advertisements

      American Express Gift Cards are a scam because they are not taken anywhere. We have given our vendor the card number, expiration date, and security code as well as verified the balance repeatedly. The card does not contain a number for customer service and when you do find out the number from their website, they won't help you. Our customer service agent was very difficult to understand and didn't answer any of my questions. She had no idea why it wouldn't work except "they have security measures for my protection". She was no help at all! I asked to transfer to a manager and she just put me on hold. I have currently been on hold now for 12 minutes.

      American Express gift cards are beyond a scam. Totally unusable and they add all these service charges when you use them.

      They are declining and are unempathetic to the fact that they dinged my credit score 2 years ago for something that was NOT MY FAULT. A manager agreed and after countless hours on the phone to sort out, we found out they opened a 2nd account without my authorization and did not send me a new card on the 1 account that I had. That it was a NEW account.They refuse to reage the report and get this DING off my credit report. It's the ONLY payment issue that I have on my report. ALL of my bills are paid on time, until this debacle. My credit score has always been over 800 and they've lowered that over a matter of less than $100 that was late pay for a month!!!***** there is able to help. They just open a review case that's MY responsibility to continue to call in to check on result if denied again or not.Having gone thru countless hours of time on the phone and getting transferred from 1 person to another and department to department to another, I finally just spoke to a supervisor that said sorry there's nothing he can do!!!So I've finally just canceled all my accounts with them.A 1 time error, that was THEIR FAULT, and my credit score means nothing to them.So their claim of the best customer service is a lie!

      I signed up for an American Express card they approved I called them and they said I needed to spend $3000 to qualify I did and did not receive it I called and they said I was. It Eligible and said there was a pop Up message ( there was not)it was a Hilton card As A customer for years with Marriott I will now cancel that and stop doing any business with this dirty company I spend hours on the phone and they do not care

      Worst credit card company ever. After being a customer for more than 20 years ********************************************* decreased my credit limit from $45,000-$6000 because of a late payment. As a result, my credit score took a negative hit of 70 points. Despite multiple calls to customer service, ********************************************* said they were not able to remedy the situation. I have paid them more than $70,000 in interest over the last 20 years so for them to be this and flexible is absolutely unacceptable
