      I purchased a $50 Gift Card for my grandaughters Christmas present. The card was activated but didn't work for purchasing anything in person or on line. Went to ******* they couldn't refund, told me to call the company card. I did that on 26 Dec 24 and filed a claim case number ******** via email and received an email that the claim was received and would take 3-30 days to be resolved. I called on 18 Jan 25 and was told that they never received the email even though I could show them the number given on 26 Dec 24 and resent the information to the same email since they couldn't resolve anything and refused to send me to someone that could. I didn't receive a confirmation email this time. I called back on 27 Jan 25 and was told the same as I had on 18 Jan 25. Tried to send the email again to same email and didn't receive a confirmation email back. I sent a letter with all of the information from both emails and the two calls on 28 Jan to the El Paso office and asked to have this resolved by 14 Feb 25. I have not received a reply via email, call, or mail. I want my $50 back for this and think they need to work on their ****************** personnel to ensure that in the future these type of complaints can be resolved faster and correctly in the future.

      It seems to me if you pay your bill off before the statement. Due american expressdate,company does not make any interest on your account. They shut you down which i think is un fair!!! Therefore, I would not recommend this credit card. It seems to me it's a one way street. If they don't make money on you, they don't want you.

      AMEX credit card company is not a very good choice. This credit card company has one of the worst customer ******************** around. Even though there not stealing the money they scramble the accounts so bad it would seem like they are. You could verify your account status one night wake up the next with available balance showing your account minus a bunch of money with no pending charges , at which point you call customer service just to be transferred five or six departments before they say some pending charges are holding the money from some old **** **** been paid and cleared. The only thing good about the company is they are willing to give you high credit limits if your credit rating is goog

      The Worst Card on the Market I have been an American Express cardholder since 2008, holding the Centurion Card internationally. After years of loyalty, in November 2024, Amex decided to cancel the international Centurion program. Despite my long history of high spending and impeccable payments, they disregarded my customer value entirely. Given that I am a permanent resident of the **** with an SSN, they could have simply issued me a new Centurion under my **** profile. Instead, they sent me a Platinum Cardwhich I have had for only two months and has been nothing but a nightmare.The card is constantly declined, and every time I call customer service, I waste hours on the phone only to be given a different excuse. They fix it temporarily, but a week later, the same problem happens again. On top of that, they refunded me $1,600 for the unused portion of my Centurion annual fee to the canceled card! So not only did they cancel my Centurion, but they also left me with a card that had a positive balance, making it impossible to access my own money.This is an absolute disgrace and a blatant lack of respect for a long-standing, loyal customer. ********************************************* used to be a premium brand, but their service and reliability have deteriorated beyond belief. If you are considering getting an Amex, do yourself a favor and stay away.

      so amex made an abrupt suspend on my account due to the "******************** relief program" that I was on, which they "offered" to use as in payment over time on my both personal and business account without any notice. I feel like that was such a disrespectful thing to do to your customers who have been using the car whatever years. They still had hold on my account even after the FULL payment was made because they didn't see it as "posted" on their end. Ridiculous. And every time I call, they made to speak 4-5 people in order to resolve the issue and which it didn't even resolve at the end. I would give them 0 if I can.

      American Express is by far the WORST financial institution to ever do business with. I've had my personal platinum and business platinum account with them more than 30 years, along with 3 other AMEX cards and not once was I ever late. We were down few clients as all businesses do, so our payment was late for the very first time in over 30 years. And we would average a spend of about $15K per month. Then I start getting harassing calls from **** from barely seeking English , and in some of the messages I get it says "contact us for financial assistance". THERE IS NO ASSISTANCE. Liars all the way around. They say well your account doesn't qualify, so I ask well what accounts qualify ? They have no idea. **** may have its perks, but they could care less about long time faithful customers. Also, they suspended use of all my cards, personal and other business cards we have that are not even associated with the business card that was late. Their reasoning is because I'm one of the officers on the other cards. We'll be closing our accounts and going with ****************** Preferred Cards. Don't think for a minute AMEX is the only card to have, it's not !!!!!

      These banks will **** the life out of you. I cancelled my American Express card so fast and will be cancelling the others as well. These big banks will no longer get any of my money. When they realize they need us and we don't need them. Taking my money and business elsewhere. Good riddance you money hungry, ***********.

      I have two credit cards with American Express. One blue card and one business card. I was set up on auto pay for both of my cards. The annual fee came along for my business card and American Express went into my bank account and took the authorize payment that I had set up and took the 295.00 fee out of my bank account that I didn’t authorize. I was told since I had auto pay set up they was able to change my authorization payment amount and process the fee as well. It’s like they extorted me out of money I didn’t authorize them to take out of my account. All of my other cards that does charge a fee will add the fee to your card balance and up your monthly payments not just go into your bank account and take the amount they want to.. I had to dispute this with my bank and had to get another account to pay them from. I was doing very well paying them each month trying to get my balance paid until they put me in a bind. I was forced to get on a plan with them to try to save my credit from being further damage by the late payments they were reporting and the messed up my bank account by taking extra unauthorized funds out of my account.. Once my cards are paid off Im cutting up my cards and I will never recommend them to any one. Worst credit card company I have every had to deal with. And they have no shame for how they treat their customers. It’s like they want to set you up for failure so you can need them for their assistance program.. Sad.. I really wish someone could look at all of these complaints and hold this company responsible for their actions and the way they customers are being lied to and treated.

      I signed up with them and one of the ***** was 0% for 1 year and gave me a credit limit. I payed for a vacation and planned on paying the whole thing off before the 0% ended. I made every payment on time and I thought I had signed up for auto payments but had it mistaken with one of my other cards and realized and made my payment but was a few days late. I then receive an email stating they were considering reducing my credit limit if I didnt make a $1,300 payment. I called and asked why and was treated very very poorly and I said well in order for me to make this decision I need to find out what you would be decreasing my limit too and they refused to tell me and told me no one would tell me. After speaking to 2 different managers they said they were going to decrease it by 50%! So I never got to use my card/ limit for the year they offered it to me and was lied to on multiple occasions on the phone. Then they tried to strong arm me to make a decision without giving me the details I needed to make an educated decision and said make this payment or else youll find out what we will do to you. Then told me after I make the payment they could possibly do it again in 60 days it was the worst customer service I have ever received. So bad that I am leaving my first ever had review.

      I made a payment which was posted to my account when I closed out my card a month later they sent me a charge which they said was sent back three times and I received no email for that.
