      American Express are a crooks. I have been a loyal member for many years. I had a certain credit limit for a number of years. I made a big payment of over eleven thousand dollars so I can be under fifty percent of usage for my credit score. So what does American Express do. They reduced my limit by over ten thousand dollars with no prevarication, no reason or excuse to do so. Now I am back to being maxed out and cannot make life changing purchases as my score will go down because of this. They took my eleven thousand dollar payment then reduced my limit by over ten thousand dollars 2 months later. Nothing suspicious there right? I called American Express and they said its based on my credit score going down which was the first lie they told. My score has only increased in the last several months. And my debt has got significantly lower. The other lie they told was when I enrolled in a program to lower my interest rate and payment they promised me I would remain in good standing by changing my due date temporarily then enrolling in auto pay would be part of the agreement which I did. Turns out that was a lie too. They guy on the phone admitted it. Then I asked to speak to a supervisor to call them out on their lies and he put me on hold for a minute then hung up on me. I will pursue this case against American Express as this is the definition of fraud.

      Unfair exorbitant charge for a few days late after 22 years of never being a day late. I think this ridiculous fee should be waived once.

      They had an online ******** ad about upgrading to gold delta card and getting $150 statement credit. I upgraded, but didn't get credit, I called amex and they said this is only for new members. If they are advertising this for upgrading to gold, how can a new member upgrade if they don't have an existing card.

      After over 14 years with **** today I spoke with **** at Amex who gladly let me cancel both my reserve and gold cards. He gave me zero info about reapplying and gave me zero options for retaining my business. **** refusing to honor online promotion for ********* miles card. Also restricting my access to reopen my reserve card account for 30 days. Bad on Amex. First time getting such s***** service. You crapped all over this one. Very disappointed.

      Having a horrible experience with American Express.I have been a member from 2018. I havent missed a payment throughout the years. Recently, my payments overlapped, and I missed payment and had to wait for the next check. The payment was made approximately nine days later. I have received an email from them stating that they considering to reduce my limit. You use the card for 6 years, they make good money from you on APR etc., not missing any payments. One hiccup - threat. Being in the military and stationed overseas, that is not the issue I want to worry about. Highly considering closing my account and not to deal with humiliation in the future.

      I’ve 2 disputes which fell in the category of fraud but was handled by the customer service for 3 months and than they recharged the amount on my account to pay since last 10 months they keep on transferring the disputes to fraud team than again dispute team when I’ve paid the amount of my dispute because otherwise they put on late fees on that . They said it will take 4 months I waited last month they resolved the 1 st dispute but did not credit the amount when Checked my second dispute they closed that dispute by themselves and when I inquired they said you asked us to closed the claim. I said ok show me any message or mail I’ve sent you the had no answer and said do you want to reopen the case . I’m just so tired now , today I’ve received 2 mails with different reference numbers that we are crediting the amount to your account but can charged you if not getting any message from the merchant . They did that once earlier too . I have no idea they are playing with me. I never suggested anybody to get their cards .

      They charge you to use reward points at ***** They charged me 2 times on the Nov. ********* called said they were refunding it on Dec. 5th. Today they said they can't refund it.Doubled charged me, yet they can't refund it.

      Very poor customer service and very rude agents to deal with. I pay off my balance in full all the time. I was charged a late penalty fee and called because it was a mistake. They processed it a day late. I discussed how I have been a valued customer for 7 years and had them look at my payment history. The agent and manager said "Sorry there is nothing we can do". I closed my card. I highly recommend staying away from American Express.

      American Express's misleading and false advertisement promoted its BlueCard as eligible for 6% grocery and 3% gas money back. However, it did not disclose up front "with major exclusions." I found only after spending some 7004 groceries that if I read their disclaimer pages, it indicated their money-back promotion only applies to certain groceries and certain gas purchases. Do not trust American Express promotions!
