1 starMy children pooled their money for two $60 HelloFresh gift cards to cover our first 2 orders after discounts. However, I encountered several issues while trying to apply them.HelloFresh's website does not accept gift cards as payment; they treat them as discounts. This means you cannot use them for food upgrades or shipping, even though the money has already been paid. To use a gift card, you must forgo all new subscriber discounts and place a full-priced order.After multiple calls to customer service, they confirmed that only one gift card can be used per order, and you must exhaust its balance before applying another. If your balance is $59 and your card is worth $60, you would need to place another full-priced order just to use the remaining dollar. Ridiculous.Additionally, their advertised "12 free meals" are misleading; you lose these if you use a gift card instead of the discount code. Filtering meals by dietary restrictions is also cumbersome, as you must read each recipe individually for allergen information. Overall, the customer experience was frustrating and poorly designed.Review fromAvery C

1 starWouldnt let me cancel in the app, then locked me out of the web browser so I emailed them to cancel and they ignored me and charged me 3 weeks later for a box. **************** is absolutely awful, food is mid and not consistent quality, and they will try to charge you after youve already cancelled your plan and then claim they cannot refund you. I cancelled my plan about a month ago and still have been getting charged for HelloFresh meals. Ridiculous. When I called to get a refund and my shipment called, the customer service representative was extremely rude and unprofessional, constantly talking over me and repeating the same six words over and over again, I cannot give you a refund The experience was super frustrating and I ended up asking for his supervisor or management to talk to in which he replied They cant give you a refund either. Oh, someone is going to give me my money back, best believe. We bickered back and fourth for a moment as I demanding to speak to his higher up, he put me on hold and transferred me to a customer relations representative.. not management but okay. I explained to her my problem and she said What is your reasoning for cancellation and wanting a refund I had already explained this to her when the call was first transferred. So instead of repeating myself I simply said, it is my money youve unjustifiably taken out of my account, I dont want your meals and I dont want the subscription. She finally agreed to give me a refund but made a point to inform me that it was a complimentary refund and they wouldnt be able to ever give one again. I told them that it wouldnt be a problem on my end because Ill never be using them again. But I also had her confirm my account was cancelled and let her know that if they would stop charging my account after its cancelled, I wouldnt be calling back for any refunds. Their team was so unprofessional and rude! I work in customer service and couldnt imagine treating someone the way I was treated. THE ***** ARENT EVEN WORTH IT. Theyre doing some shady stuff there and i honestly hope they gain some respect and integrity and if not, shut down.HelloFresh

Do not use HelloFresh. This morning I missed the deadline for an order and realized I had been charged and meals had been selected without my approval. I called immediately to either modify or cancel the order. They refused and insisted on sending the order even though it had not been prepared or shipped yet. I had to call my bank to dispute the charge and will possibly need a new debit card so that they cannot fraudulently keep charging my card. **************** was extremely rude from **********************, laughing and asking why I was so upset. I don't understand how a meal service could have so few options or flexibility when it comes to a customer with a subscription. I have cancelled the subscription which I should have done a long time ago. The food is rarely of good quality and the portions are ridiculous. My family and I will most likely look at better options that do not fraudulently charge without approval.HelloFresh

1 starI joined based on a promotion - as a new customer, after 3 boxes, I was to receive a free ******* pan. After my 3 boxes, I called to inquire about the pan and was told I would receive an email directly from *******. After my 4th box and another week, I called again and as told that I was not eligible, and never was, and would not be receiving a pan. I cancelled my subscription, yet was told that I would receive my next delivery in 4 days! I said no, that I wanted it cancelled, but was told no. I asked if there was anything they could do to make it right and was told 'No, it's out of our hands.' I wasn't offered ANY sort of compensation. Nothing. 3 starsI recently reactivated my account with a promotion. The promotion went fine but, this time around the quality was subpar. I received three boxes over three weeks. In the first two boxes the veggies were a little less than fresh, the second box was also missing a packet of sour cream for one of the recipes, and in the third box one of the packages of meat wasnt sealed well on one side and everything in the box was covered in meat juice. The first time I used Hello Fresh I had no issues, I only quit using it because of changes in my schedule. I was hoping to get back into cooking more and I wanted to save time and add some variety with this subscription. Sadly I was unable to do this.Review fromKanda O

I called to request my order be canceled on October 5th due to being in the middle of moving. I was told since my payment was already processed they would not refund me. I tried to explain to them that my order was just gonna go to waste because I had nowhere to store it since all my stuff was packed for moving. The Representative said sorry to hear that and that there was nothing he could do to help. I am a single mom with 3 little kids. That $102 they won't refund me was for my kids school lunches while we are moving.HelloFresh

1 starHere's how it went down. I was scrolling ******** and a hello fresh add popped up. I eat healthy and I was interested in healthy meal planning without pork, red meat, dairy, soy or gluten. I hopped on their platform and entered my information. Just to peak at the menu you have to enter your payment data. I thought to myself this is strange so I'll use a secured card. I was browsing the menu items and fell asleep with my phone in my hand. At 2 am I was awakened by the ping of my card three times. I couldn't cancel the order the app and the website wouldn't allow because the order was already processed.Not only did they create a cart full of food I can't eat, they charged me for it and shipped it in two giant boxes to my neighbors door. I had to take off work to move these giant boxes to my apartment upstairs after I was sent the delivery pictures. I've used my credit card company to dispute the charges while all the food takes up space in my fridge that I can't eat!Don't enter your payment info unless you're absolutely sure you want this service, because they WILL force it on you!
