I have had The worse existence with MetLife.1) they said that MetLife would send all necessary paperwork to my treating physicians ,that all I had to do was sign a storm to give them permission to receive my medical papers on my injury. They entered a return to work date on my claim. I the to verify with my claim *** that she got the return to work date from my physicians. I never got an answer from MetLife. I had close to no communication from MetLife. First my claim was approved. Then 4 days later the status was changed by MetLife from approve to denied due to no medical payers received. My accident happens 7/31 my claim wad opened 8/1. On the 19th I was approved for std , and I received a email from MetLife confirming receipt of medical documents had been received. Then on 8/23 it was changed from approved to denied reason lack of evidence. Long story short I spoke with another *** who informed me that MetLife wasn't allowed to give return dates and that the date that was entered was a estimated date of type of enjury. By now my attending ********* won't sign a return to work letter because its been a couple of weeks since my visit. I have to wad a work doctor to be cleared for work doctor won't see me unless i have been cleared to return to work. The company I with for has a 5 point system. You get 5 attendance points and that's grounds for termination. I have been out of work for almost 3 months now. Simply because MetLife didn't do their job . Resulting in no pay for me, and way over the 5 point system definitely puts me in termination stage. My suggestion to anyone looking for insurance do your research, checkout reviews. They are horrible by the way

I have a one-year-old dog, and this is my first time filing a claim with MetLife. I submitted a standard wellness check claim about six weeks ago, and they have received all the SOAP notes from the vet. Each time I call, I get conflicting information, which is beyond frustrating.Recently, I received an email stating that my claim was closed due to missing information. However, when I called today, I was told they had all the information but it was filed under the wrong claim. It feels like theyre intentionally making it difficult to access my *********** top it off, one of my other claims was approved, and I received a direct deposit for just $2.70. So, the least expensive claim was processed, but not the wellness visit? It just doesnt make sense.Ive had a similar experience with my other dog, and while theyre quick to collect monthly payments, the same level of responsiveness and professionalism isnt there when it comes to claims. I would recommend avoiding MetLife at all costs!

Ive submitted 2 accidents claims over 6 weeks ago. I can not get any updates online and it takes multiple phone calls and weeks waiting on mail to find out what else is needed or missing. They seem to only collect money then drag out the process to avoid paying a claim. I truly believe this is nothing but a scam. Good luck finding the exclusions for covered benefits. They dont publish them.

MetLife Pet Insurance is run by people who do not make it easy to use their service or to cancel. they make it very hard and never answer their emails. ***** stop with the long greeting every single time I call. It's annoying.Metropolitan General Insurance Company (MetGen) and Independence American Insurance Company (IAIC) underwrite MetLife Pet Insurance, depending on the state and the type of policy:MetGen: Underwrites policies in states where MetGen's policies are availableIAIC: Underwrites policies in some states

I filed an STD and FMLA claim with MetLife by phone 9/9/24. I completed the medical authorization online. I received an email which included the Certification of *********** Provider for Employee's Serious Health Condition. I took this to the doctor's office. They completed and submitted the form to MetLife. I then received a letter with the same form. I submitted this form to the doctor for completion again. They submitted the Certification again. Spoke with my employer's **** who contacted MetLife. MetLife customer service indicated to my employer's *** that they were waiting for the Attending Physician's statement, medical records and doctor's notes. The employer's *** relayed this info to me. I phoned the doctor's office on 9/26/24, and was told that they had not yet received the Attending Physician's statement from MetLife. This is the paperwork that MetLife told my employer's *** hadn't been returned. How could it be returned if it hadn't been requested?I phoned MetLife immediately. The *** confirmed that they hadn't yet sent the physician's statement to my doctor, though she couldn't explain why. She asked if I would like the form emailed to me. She emailed the form while we were speaking. I then asked to be connected to the case manager, who hasn't contacted me. I could only request a call back. I immediately took the statement to my doctor's office for completion. Reading these reviews, I wonder if I will hear from my case manager. As of today, my claim shows as pending, evidence not received on the online portal. It seems that MetLife is not following through with claims. I see that many insured have experienced considerable frustration, delay and unwarranted denials. I am considering litigation to ensure that MetLife meets it's obligation if my claim is not processed in a timely manner.I would not advise doing business MetLife. It seems that delay is their business model.

I think this dog insurance is a scam. So I would score Met Life less than 1. My health insurance is easier to use, and faster. I just got the dog and just bought the insurance. Turned in all the paper-work, less soap note (which my ** dont keep) for the last year. The receipt showed all the things done. Remember I only had the dog for 3 weeks and was to be a check-up but found she was sick with kennel cough. They have every escuse to to process the claim ie they want the las years worth of medical records. How dumb is this, I only adopted 3 weeks before. They also wanted my contract with the adoption center. Of course I cancelled her policy immediately, I was to paid a lot of money for nothing.

Metlife is terrible. They gave me a pretreatment estimate saying my planned benefit was $12k for a huge dental procedure I had to do. Then they only paid $2k. when I called they said, "it was an estimate" and wouldn't take any responsibility. How can you be off 90% on an estimate and then blame it on everybody else? What is the point of a pretreatment estimate if you can't trust it? When I called to ask what happened they said they'd resubmit and get back to me. Nothing for weeks. Then I called they had no record of a resubmittal and the guy pretended he couldn't hear me and put me on his hold for 30 minutes before he'd actually transfer me to a manager. That lady said they were going to bill me MORE as they overpaid my claim. These people are theives.

Terrible. Makes any excuse to not process claims. I’m pretty sure I’ll never get my money based on other reviews of this company
