1 starVery crooked company! Talked me into continuing to pay my father's life insurance policy that my mother took out after she passed away. They assured me that I'd only need to send in her death certificate to get my check after my father passed, since he was in no condition to sign a change of beneficiary form. I trusted them and continued to pay for years. My father finally passed, and now they denied my claim saying that there is "another beneficiary out there somewhere, and it's not me." They were quick to take my hard earned money for years, and convince me that everything would be ok in the end, but took the money and ran when it came time to pay out the claim. I asked them if they could get the records to the recorded call form the first time I talked to them, but they said they wouldn't know how to find it, and that "that's not what they're there for." So in other words, those calls are recorded to help save them, but not to be there when you need them. I'm sure if it was the other way around they'd be able to find that call in a matter of seconds. I canceled my life insurance through them and went through another provider. I don't do business with crooks.Review fromRandal H

Been fighting for my STD since my leave of absence back on 9/1/21. Denied even after sending all documents feom physicians. If it is not approved by end of this qeek I will ne contacting my personal attorney to handle Metlife.I am done playing their games.MetLife, Inc.

1 starWorst insurance company I have ever dealt with. I have been trying to file for a kidney issue and hospital stay since May of this year. The kept giving me wrong information and my claim is STILL under review. What's to review? I was in 2 seperate hospitals never discharged going from the ICU to their rehab facility so I was inpatient for well over 30 days and Metlife is thinking about perhaps paying my claim but in truth they want me to just go away. I will never use Metlife again and will tell my co-workers and HR about my experience. I hope I can choose ***** this coming year.Review fromAvianne S

I would NEVER sign up for any benefits package again during my career if Metlife is the the grantor for any of it.I've filed a Short-term disability claim in 8/2022 submitted every piece of documentation required and its always an excuse from the claims specialist of documentation not received but it was scanned into my file, or it was but dates are incorrect. Or telling my that my claim can be approved with a verbal date confirmation from my Physician only to learn that it wasn't received in writing when I inquired about my payments not being issued. Most recently I was informed that the office was closed from 11/21/22 -11/25/22 due to the Thanksgiving holiday, but I spoke to someone on the 21st to make sure that the correct paperwork was received which it was, however still no resolution to my claim that is still pending.Due to these stall tactics by Metlife I was unable to be financially able to pay Doctor ***pays, testing, procedures etc. and ultimately lost my job and health insurance. Now they are using another stall tactic by reaching out to my previous employer to see if I am entitled to any benefits past my termination date 10/31/22, however they haven't paid out a ***** or approved my benefits for when I was employed.I hope they are slapped with a class action suit for real, because what they are doing is unethical and causing undue hardship to customers.MetLife, Inc.

1 starI am very upset with how MetLife has treated me as a customer. I have ********************** through my employer. I apply for short-term and long-term disability through my employer during open enrollment back in November 2021 for my 2022 benefits. Recently I had to go on FMLA and wanted to use my short-term disability through Metlife. I was just advised by Metlife that my short-term disability was not approved due to them stating that I never submitted the requested documentation. Well, Metlife drops the ball because you guys have the wrong e-mail on file. I am so upset and something should be done due to Metlife entering and sending my information to the wrong email address. I have called customer service and spoken to someone by the name of ****** who stated she is a supervisor at Metlife and that this matter will be handled in 48 hours... It has now been over 3 weeks and I still haven't gotten any help. I have reached out to customer service again over 100 times and get no help. Im so upset that Metlife wouldn't take a customer well being seriously. Im on FMLA for medical reasons and Metlife has done nothing but make it so much worst by not taking accountability by mistake on your end. I will need something done immediately and in the meantime, I will also be reaching out to ******* Fox 5 news about their matter. This is urgent and I will need to be contacted immediately. If your company uses metlife to manage their short term disablity, stay away. This company is useless and unhelpful. No matter how many times you call or try to talk to a rep, they rarely will call you back. I spent so many hours trying to get a handle on my case, even involving my HR. I was told my case was approved, but never paid out, that I was to be patient. Then all of a sudden rejected without notice. This company is a sham.MetLife, Inc.

I have tried to work with Metlife dental for over 8 months now trying to get a dental issue resolved. Everytime that I get a new rep. they tell you something different. I was suppose to have a sinus life and bone ****** done and it was not done. so now they will not pay for a new sinus lift because they have already paid for it. Now it has not been done and they will not reverse the procdure on the account. They are the worst.MetLife, Inc.

Have been on short term disability since April, they have paid my twice until end of July and have been running me in circles and delaying any payment. Have sent them every piece of information they've asked for and yet i am always told its in review and it will be done in about 5 days. That was 3 weeks ago now. No answer from the case manager, no call backs, and a complete lack of respect coming from their part.MetLife, Inc.

Deplorable dental insurance company, I informed these people I would not tolerate any surprise billing up front. They promised me I would always know up front of what my billing would be. I explained to them up front I am old school type. If it costs too much I would wait until I could afford it. They promised I would always know. I attended my first dental exam and I was told by the dentist my cost would be $46. Fine I paid it on the spot. A few weeks later I receive a bill for $27 and I immediately called and after several calls *************** to the dentist and MetLife no one could explain the surprise bill and they blamed the other. I then informed them I had warned them I would not tolerate surprise bills. They informed me to write a letter to the company telling them I was terminating the broken contract with them for, lying...period. I also went to my bank and told them to not let MetLife to take any further payments. I have bank letter stating so. MetLife responded to my letter addressing, they saw no reason for me to leave the contract without addressing my complaint whatsoever. In other words, just the money is their concern. The following month MetLife stole money from my bank account after being informed I was done. I immediately went to my bank and my bank informed me they apparently falsified a code, in other words somehow they were able to use another number to take money from my account knowing that I was done with them. Also, I am a honorably discharged ******* Veteran. MetLife told me they were connected with the V.A. I have investigated this and its another lie. I ended up having to close out my bank account to avoid more theft from my account. I recieved another surprise bill for $46 as well from original dental appointment. Not one time has MetLife made a courtesy call to me to talk to me about what they have done to me all they care about is the $$$. I'm pretty sure the altering of the code to take money from ones bank is fraud.MetLife, Inc.
