      Very poor service! I was out on STD for an accident and they recently denied an extension of my claim against my MD recommendation. My MD has sent them follow up documents and medical records and I called my claim manager ****** multiple times about the documents being sent and she never calls back and says she receives them. Today they updated on their portal no medical records received, follow up efforts stopped even thought I uploaded the documents myself in addition to my care team sending it. Very stressful company. Do not recommend.

      This is the worst company I have ever had to deal with. There is no point in having a case manager when you cant even speak to them. I have left numerous voicemails and requested call backs to understand why my claim was denied when my doctors sent in the paper work. I was told it was cancelled somehow not by me then it was denied. The representatives are no help and never know what they are talking about. I have been told even if I escalate there is no guarantee I would get a call back so what is the poin.

      Thank you for bringing this to our attention. A letter was sent to **************** on 4/7/23 to explain her eligibility for benefits. A call was also placed to **************** by our claim staff on 4/12/23.

      I have a STD claim through my employer Navy ********************* Filing the initial claim I received great service. Filing my first extension was ok at best. Now the service from New York Life is horrible. My claim's manager has changed without me being notified and the only reason why I know is because of me calling in. The current claim's manager that I have can never return a call back request no matter how many messages you leave (voicemail & with representatives over the phone). I've been waiting on a callback for about 3 weeks now and they claim they return calls in 48 business hours. Then when they do communicate with my Doctor's ****** it's on the weekend when the ****** is closed. On top of that the documents provided to New York Life from my Doctor is never enough. They always need another document of some sort and once received it will take 3-5 business day's for review. Why is that when you give correspondence over the weekend but can't process over the weekend? This is truly unfair and unprofessional on New York Life Company part. I will update this critique if anyone reaches out to me.

      I have been out if work since 11/28 with plantar fasciitis, tarsal tunnel, and tendinitis. I haven't been treated fair through whole process. My doctors have sent every paperwork they have asked for even doctors notes. I'm still out of work about to loose my job of 8 years because they fail to get it together. I should have switched to long term disability but have yet to do so. I'm poor and now have to pay my own premiums to hold from my job. I call n call and only get I'm still under review. Haven't sent me anything in mail. Haven' t made proper contact with me. I can not help I'm hurt n out of work! Very depressing. To the point I may have to go seek mental health. But their lack of communication n help is over bearing.. I have even filed the same leave twice trying to get answers. I'm in a hardship with 3 kids at this point.

      I was called by someone but nothing has been resolved. I'm still out of work had to have MRI right now I'm pointed out at my job because my doctor supposedly hasn't sent enough doctor notes. Never in my life have I heard such a thing. The doctors tell u I can't work what more do u need. I have copies of everything when they were sent ect. So I'm still completely not satisfied. Punishing me because they don't have a good service is nuts! My job used Cigna and have never had problems like this. I know of others in my workplace under the same scrutiny as me. Or has been! I pray they get it together for the sake of the people who deal with them

      ********************** original review noted a lack of communication. Claim staff provided update to her 3/31/23, confirming that her claim is denied, and why. She was also previously notified of this in letter dated 3/23/23. We understand ****************** disagrees with this decision, however that does not equate to an error in handling of her claim.

      I didn't recieve anything until this week with the post date of around the 30th of March. Of notices that were for 02/03/2023. But because u finally sent that I should be happy? I wasn't paid my full STD and I wasn't page right. Which I have proof in bank statements. They have yet to actually deny me either. Says I used it up. But I have *** to which they tell me I haven't given enough from my doctors. Although I have a copy of everything that has been sent to them. Which has diagnosis and restrictions. I have a job that requires me on my feet for 10 hours a day with a steel toe shoe on. Common sense says if I have something wrong with my FOOT that would be impossible. They are costing me a job of 8 plus years that I have had with awesome participation and never a lack of performance all because they handled everything inadequate. And my paper doesn't say I was denied states I was exhausted on STD. But yet I had to have MRI just last week due to swelling n bruising on the foot. Whoever their medical team is who looks at these files need to be examined with a fine tooth comb. At this point I and alot of others are still unsatisfied with results. You send a paper in March for February that I did not recieve till April.. **** my situation is resolved I will be the first to post here. Until then it's buyer beware and basically if your job has this and something u fortunate happens to you. Well there goes all your lively hood and I hope your job doesn't mean much because u won't keep it with this company. 8 years down the drain.

      Not receiving responses from from case manager after multiple voicemail messages. In addition, the claim manager assigned to me she call me once left a voicemail I returned her call but was never able to be in touch with her after multiple attempts.When your not able to speak with your case manager youre transferred over to representative which are very rude and give you different information each call and instead of clarify what going on with your case situation they just hang ** in your face or transfer you to a my caseworker who never responds or return calls my experience since 03/07/2023 has been awful and difficult my *************** isnt updated and I ask the representative about and she got very nasty with me .All caseworker and representative should have a survey after each call so it can be reported to the company because this company customers is lacking on every call.

      Had two annuities mature March 5, 2023. The paperwork to extend the annuities 4 years was completed prior to March 1. One of the annuities in was in wife's name was extended March 15, 2023. The annuity in my name with same maturity has not been extended as of May 23, 2023. They sat on my money for at least 10 days and will pay me the huge .5% interest. The fact that both annuities mature the same day and they were mishandled differently confirms that he operations group is pathetic. This is the same group that mishandled two other annuities last year. I was in finance for over 35 years. If this was the level of customer service we offered. there would ************ looking for jobs.

      They will not pay a claim on a long term care policy. They have all information in hand and just keep saying it's in review. Now they say it's back in review again.

      I have had a claim since February 8th. Numerous faxes from my doctor not received, doctor has shown proof it was sent. Claim is closed from delays and claim manager basically said I was fine according to doctor's notes. This is untrue and everything has been emailed again. People that are sick and awaiting a diagnosis shouldn't have to deal with the added stress.

      So disappointed in the handling of my claim. Went on disability on 1/6/2023, it was approved up to 2/13/2023. I was sent paperwork to provide to my Dr. I had it filled out and returned it. My caseworker told me they could not use the paperwork and required the office notes. She advised that they had not received the office notes. Called my Dr and they advised they sent the office notes too. Called back and she had the office notes. As of today, my case is still under review. Even sent the mri records, and was told my std is not supported. Not sure what support is needed. My caseworker is not really helpful. Again super disappointed. Maybe they want me to go back to work and just ignore the pain I am constantly in.
