I have New York Life for my short term disability and they refuse to pay me although I have given them all the paperwork they requested. Every time I give them the paperwork they requested then they give me another set of paperwork and several different excuses as to why they can not pay me for the 6 weeks I was out for surgery. They take money out of my paycheck but refuse to pay me for my claim. I will not recommend them to anyone else. I will definitely tell everyone I know exactly how New York Life has done me so they dont make the same mistake and take out insurance through them.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We regret that the customer had a poor experience with our **********************. We understand his frustration and hope he can understand it is our goal to administer the policy according to its terms. The policy requires that the claimant satisfy all the provisions of the policy to receive benefits. In this case, we were required to determine if the customers condition is considered pre-existing according to the policy terms. We requested medical records for the period of 10/29/23-1/218/24. We did not receive the records necessary to evaluate this period and the claim was denied on 2/10/25. However, the information was since received and the claim was approved for the period of 12/3/24-1/9/25, with benefits payable from 12/17/24-1/19/25. Benefits were issued on 2/12/25. Should the customer have any questions, they may contact their Claim Manager, ********, for further assistance.

*** denied my short term disability claim due to their medical professionals opinions. My case manager ******** contradicted herself numerous times over the months of stress caused by this never ending process. They force you to eventually give up even though your doctor states that you cannot work due to injuries. They dont even bother to look into what your job actually is. They will always use the doctor didnt provide notes excuse. Its their get out of jail free card. Asking your doctor numerous time to provide notes is all I can do (even though a licensed doctor has filled out all the correct paperwork). No legit and licensed doctor would complete disability paperwork unless it wasnt necessary. I will never use *** again for anything and plan on joining the class action lawsuit. 5 months without pay is a joke an absolute joke.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We regret that the customer had a poor experience with our **********************. We understand his frustration and hope he can understand it is our goal to administer the policy according to its terms. The policy requires that receive proof that the customer is Disabled according to the policy terms. In this case, the medical documentation received failed to provide sufficient proof that the customer is Disabled according to the policy terms. **************** is extremely important to us and we have escalated the customers concerns to the appropriate levels of management to be addressed. According to our review, our ************* obtained a detailed job description from the employer and attempted to verify with the customer without success. Occupational requirements are considered as part of the review and the medical documentation did not prove the customer was unable to perform those duties. Should the customer have any questions, they may contact their Appeal Specialist, ********, for further assistance.

This by far is the worst company that I have had to deal with .On December 8th I contacted New York life because I have t o report time for incapacity for the type of leave rhat I have (ADA).I try to fo everything on line because I HATE having to even contacting them because it's ALWAYS overwhelming!!! I accidentally entered the wrong date for my absence but called immediately when I realized what I had done. Instead of reporting 12/7 I entered 12/14 and called to let them know what I had done on 12/8 spoke with a rep that I do have his name but don't what to disclose but will say his name D....he said oh I will update the info for you!!two days later look on line to see if it was corrected and it shows the wrong date was deleted but the correct info is not showing. Called back spoke with M..she says he didn't update the correct date but I will .Three days go by look online to see...NOTHING. Called back spoke with H...he says I will send this to your case manager and have him to get this updated.Called back after two days spoke with E...she says your doctor needs to send in more information!!ARE YOU SERIOUS??I have a email sent from my employer rhat my claim was approved after my doctor had to fax info THREE times and finally give info verbally. E said she will send the info to my case manager O....and he will call back in 12 to 48 hours told her Ms.E they NEVER call back said she will make sure it does. Three days later no call called back spoke with A she said the same thing she will send O a email!O still never called back but demanded that I speak with him or another manger!Stayed on hold and O...finally get on the phone said he had to contact my HR and they will send me a update!!Only for them to say date was denied because I didn't have the time but online it shows I have available hours and they approved the wrong date before it was deleted and December 14th wasn't even here yet I reported the wrong day entered on the 8th .Make it make sense.

This company is by far the WORST!!!I Oct.1st I started a **** claim for my place of employment. I was approved but because my husband had a claim prior to mine because of his health .So I was told the federal government only allows me to use 456 hours a year so I would have to file *** instead...this has been a night mare employees express during open enrollment how one call to have something corrected ends up being eight calls I spend my whole lunch speaking with someone about the same thing over and over until you have to to request a call from your case manager because they keep saying different things and a manager call back time is suppose to have a turn around time ***** hours turns into a week that's with calling back and refuse to wait for a callback only for the case manager to tell you they will correct the problem and still does not fix the issue they just get you off the phone. And it's embarrassing that the physicians have to go through what they do just to delay the process. It's Dec 30th and it still has not been fixed.

*** will do whatever to stall, delay, deny benefits. I was already on *** disability when my doctor report that I would need to be out of work for an extended period of time. I contacted *** on 11/19/24 to start the claim transition from **********. The *** advocate told me that the *** advocate would call me by the end of the week or within 36 hrs at the latest to gather all the information, and provide me with the forms, needed to begin the *** claim. No one ever contacted me! I have call and requested a call back every day since 11/26/24. On 12/16/24, I used the *** chat option to complain and requested a call back from the *** claims analyst (*****) and their supervisor. The claims analyst finally called me that day. She confirmed that she had all the documents and medical records needed to support my claim for ***. She reported that she just needed verification from my employer that my *** benefits were active. She admitted that she had not even sent the verification request to my employer until that morning, even though the request to ***************** started on 11/19/24. I confirmed with my employer that they verified my *** benefits that day. She ended our conversation saying that she would have a determination by the end of that week. This has not happened yet, and it is now 12/30/24. There still has not been a determination and despite the fact that I call and leave messages daily asking for a call back, and noting that there is incorrect information listed on the website, she continues to ignore me and has never called me back again. The *** Claims Analyst ironically sent me a letter on 12/12/24 that said that it is **** goals to return all calls and answer all questions the same day or within 24 hours, at the latest. What a joke - I asked how she could justify such a statement when that was clearly not true. She made excuses and suggested that maybe I forgot to leave messages. It turns out this is how *** avoids responsibility.

It’s obvious NYL didn’t look at my medical information and job description. Without going into detail, because I don’t believe NYL remotely cares, no objective person would think it’s reasonable for me to continue working.

I feel like the motto at New York Life Insurance company is "Prolong the process for as long as you can, so we can pay out as little as we can. If possible, don't pay them at all. That's a win for us!"Don't use New York Life Insurance company. They don't want to actually help you. This business doesn't care about your medical issues or grief.

Hello,I have been paying my life insurance online for over 3 years. One day while I was trying to pay for my life insurance, I all of sudden didn't have access. I didn't get any email or letter stating that there was a problem or breach. If I wasn't as old as I am and If I knew I could get some life insurance somewhere else, I would drop my policy. They are very unprofessional, I will never recommend them.
