New york Life is denying payment only hisbands life insurance! They said I wasn't eligible for the policy when I got it last year because I retired from a school system even tho the agent knew I was retired and I didn't lie on my application so now I am fighting with them to pay for my husbands funeral! But they sure took my money all this time

This company is hot garbage. They have zero desire to help people with emergencies even though the emergency was created by them. Employees seem kind enough but are zero help and are not reliable in any way shape or form in regards to the information they give out. It certainly seems that their main goal is to get you off of the phone and will never escalate anything....probably because they have been trained that way. The experience i have had with New York Life has been nothing but poor and this carries over to ****. I will never be a customer of either. I'd rather die.

I cannot stress enough how disappointed I am with my experience with New York Life and their agent, **** *. I met **** through a *** networking meeting, which is supposed to be built on trust. At the time,However, **** also suggested multiple whole life policys, **** convinced me to make some terrible financial decisions, including stopping contributions to our ****** ***** accountsspecifically, my wifes and my **** IRAs and my daughters 529 college savings planin favor of a whole life insurance policys. She repeatedly pitched this policy as the "greatest thing ever" its a good as cash even if you take the money, the dividend will pay for ever you can borrow against, no need for banks and promised it would grow the cash value and be a great long-term solution. Based on her advice, I shifted my financial strategy, thinking I was getting expert guidance from someone I trusted. Fast forward almost two years, and during a review meeting with ****, I started noticing discrepancies in the policy details. After running the numbers with a calculator, I discovered the harsh truth: over 20 years, I would end up paying more than $250,000 for a policy that would only return around $210,000on top of the $250,000 life insurance coverage. In comparison, I could have gotten a similar 20-year life insurance policy for just $2,640 or about $11 per month. In other words, I paid over $40,000 for a policy that could have cost me just $2,640. Additionally, by following ***** advice, I missed out on $250,000 in potential investments, This is a far cry from the "growth" and "savings" I was promised. And this doesnt even account for the other two policiesthis is just one of them.I feel completely taken advantage of. ****, whom I trusted to be a financial advisor, failed to disclose the true risks and value of the policy. As a result, I liquidated my family's retirement savings and education fund, only to be left with a policy worth less than what I invested.

Was approved for my long term disability with New York Life. In October 2024 . As I been doing chemo treatments every other week. They said that I would receive just over $3,500.00 monthly. They said I would receive a check for the last 3 days of October in the amount of $265.00 . It is now November 17th and had not received any form of payment. The automated system ***** and been leaving messages for ******* my case manager with no calls returned.

Worst and most dishonest hiring process of any company Ive experienced. After being verbally offered a position, in person, by a partner at the firm, **** *******, and getting my fingerprints processed for hiring, she proceeded to ignore my outreaches about next steps. After an extended period of time and contacting an internal service, she reached out via email to let me know that they have selected another candidate. The level of dishonesty exhibited from an individual who has risen to the level of partner is extremely concerning. This is not a company you want to work for knowing this is how they operate from Day 1. She personally recruited me and then lied about my hiring and ignored further communication. Absolute disgrace. I would select less than 1 star if possible.

Honestly I hadn't looked at reviews until after applying and based on the horrible experiences of others, I'm glad I was denied coverage. The representative I spoke to was so rude when I asked why I was denied and I was told "you don't just get to have it", like I would not have been paying for it. I understand that but being diagnosed with an anxiety disorder 4 years ago which was treated and does not prohibit me from working or doing anything else is apparently a reason to get denied. As a matter of fact, if you have ANY medical issues within the last 5 years they will deny you coverage. When I said okay so I should have just lied about that she got offended and more rude. So thank you for denying up front so I didn't have to fight later in the event I ever actually needed to use it. I will find a job that uses a more reputable company for their insurance.

I am beyond disappointed with NY Life Disability Insurances handling of my fathers claim. My father, a 66-year-old man *** has suffered two strokes and continues to face serious health challenges, was shockingly denied long-term disability coverage. The company claims he is fit to work based on his heart rate alone, ignoring his high blood pressure, stroke history, and the risks associated with stress. Our family ******* *** conducts full blood work on him every three months, recommended a two-year break from work to avoid further health complications. She is baffled by *******'s decision, as are we. The lack of consideration for his overall health and the doctor's professional opinion is not only baffling but utterly irresponsible. This company seems more interested in finding excuses to deny claims than in providing the support they promise. I trusted NY Life to be there for us in difficult times, but they have shown a complete disregard for my father's well-being. If you're looking for an insurance provider that actually cares about its clients, I would strongly advise looking elsewhere.

My claim with *** for long term disability, though time consuming, was handled in a professional and caring manner by all of the employees of this company. From my local representative to my case manager, and the ******* Team leader, I felt that they were always looking for ways to help.Special thanks to Nakita, ******* and ******* for all of their hard work!I would definitely recommend this company for all of your benefit and financial needs!

Out of work 07/17/24 due to an emergency craniotomy ( brain bleed ) . Complications after . Return to work 10/28/24 . My NY Life Disability policy was set to pay 60% of my regular wages or about $2700.00 per month . Their conditions state that if someone gets Social Security RETIREMENT benefits that disability payments get offset by that benefit . What a morally bankrupt dishonest set of rules . My family depends on both to pay all the bills and survive . Out of work 15 weeks and got $1,777.33 from NY Life .Yes I should not PROFIT from being disabled . But I should not be PENALIZED either .The net result of the offset was to reduce my total income percentage to just 34.6% for those 15 weeks -at a time my expenses increased . This is a poorly attributed policy not a law . Because of that fact - I will NEVER do business with this c*** Company again in any way shape or form via my employer or individually nor will my family do so either .

We regret that the customer had a poor experience with our **********************. We understand their frustration and hope they can understand that the disability policy needs to be administered according to its terms and provisions. The employers disability policy states that disability benefits are reduced by Other Income Benefits the customer receives or is assumed to receive. Other Income Benefits include but is not limited to Social Security disability and retirement benefits. As the customer was receiving Social Security retirement benefits, their disability benefit was offset accordingly, per the terms of the policy. This information was explained to the customer by phone and in writing on 11/8/2024. Should the customer have any other concerns, they may contact their Claims Manager ******** for assistance.
