I was trying to get new car ins and my quote went up because LexisNexis (CLUE) reported that one of my sons was at fault for an accident on 01/02/2018 (when he was 12) and 7/15/22. He was not in the car for either of those accidents (they were from another son of mine- who is no longer going to be on our car ins). Im very concerned that such inaccurate information could be out there and counting against us for our rates and for my sons driving record. Its even more upsetting that he was ***************** one of these accidents. Progressive told us that we needed to contact LexisNexis and that they usually take a long time to fix mistakes, and that they have to go by what information is sent to them for our car insurance rates. I called the ***** number for LexisNexis and was directed to the website. I have no idea what I am supposed to do, but I want it fixed quickly. I sent a help message to them. But no matter what, I think it is very wrong that they could get this information so wrong when it impacts so much.I stated I want a correction to a credit report, but its actually to a CLUE report.Business Response

All three of the credit bureaus have put an extreme strain on my families life. I have been denied jobs, cars, rental properties, lost finances, my lively hood has been destroyed all the way around. My character has been questioned which is holding my business back from growing which is not fair when they are breaking all the laws that congress has created to protect the consumer. All consumer reports shall be reporting accurate information in a fair manner. After areview of my consumer report, I found an item that is inaccurate. The account in question is a BANKRUPTCY. Therefore, I am requesting that you please send me copies of the documents that you have in your files as of this date that your company used to verify the accuracy of the bankruptcy. I have contacted the court listed on my consumer file and the court informed that they do not have a record of bankruptcy under my name, full social security number and date of birth They informed methat they do not send any information for anyone bankruptcy to LEXISNEXIS and that you may have got information from PACER in which it is not complete per the bankruptcy court. My complaint is regarding my credit report that has Bankruptcy stated on Lexis Nexis. Previously I have sent complaint to Lexis Nexis and with BBB which they removed before then listed again on my credit file. I have contacted the courts asking was this Bankruptcy reported to any ************* they stated they do not report any information to any credit Bureau. I sent a certified letter to Lexis Nexis a month asking how this information was reported to them and how they are getting access to my information. As of today, I have not heard feedback from Lexis Nexis explaining any reason and they are affecting my credit in order for me to apply for anything needed for future purchase such as a home or financial loans for my future business that I am trying to create.Business Response

This is an official matter versus Lexis Nexis located in *******, **. This corporation has been consistent in disregarding my consumer rights under the Fair Credit Reporting Act and has caused me financial and emotional distress. To begin with, they're reporting a Bankruptcy that is an unverifiable account on my credit file. They were unable to present evidence of claim when I requested it as per the ***** Moreover, I have evidence from the Bankruptcy Court that clearly mentions that they don't report to any of the credit bureaus. So how exactly did they verify this account? Despite my initiatives to remedy this issue, Lexis Nexis has really brushed aside my interactions and legal submissions to omit this fallacious information from my credit document. I am fully aware that there are many other claims lodged against this company for its illegal and unethical business. This irresponsible action has ignited lots of great harm, not only to my ability to set up credit & good interest fees but also to my character as a professional and as a person. Please help me to put an end to the operation of these shady & bad business habits straight away by having my credit file fixed. July 9 2022, I sent a letter to the courthouse asking do the report bankruptcies to the credit bureaus and I got a letter stating They do not report any bankruptcies to anybody. So if thats the case. How did the credit bureaus verify my bankruptcy as 100% Accurate. They never did a fair investigation according to the 15 USC ****. 15 USC **** section 603 (3)(E) States; The term investigative consumer report means a consumer report or portion thereof in which information on a consumers character, general reputation, personal characteristics, or mode of living is obtained through personal interviews with neighbors, friends, or associates of the consumer reported on or with others with whom he is acquainted or who may have knowledge concerning any such items of information. However, such information shall not include specific factual information on a consumers credit record obtained directly from a creditor of the consumer or from a consumer reporting agency when such information was obtained directly from a creditor of the consumer or from the consumer. How was the inaccurate information able to be verified if the court house does not report to the credit bureau? Case number: ******* Chapter 7 Bankruptcy: Bankruptcy They also violated my rights numerous times.The credit bureaus violated my given rights under 15 USC ****. According to: 15 U.S.C **** section 602 A. On May 22nd 2022. I sent a letter to the credit bureaus asking them to please check my credit report for any inaccurate information. I also asked them to update my credit report or to delete any inaccurate information .I also asked them to update my report or to delete any inaccurate information if it's not 100% accurate. In accordance with the Fair Credit Reporting Act everything has to be 100% accurate on my credit report. The credit bureaus said they did a proper investigation but how is that possible if the" open date" is inaccurate and the " date of last activity is different on each credit report. " The date reporting is also different." This is grounds for removal and they violated my rights under 15 USC **** section 602 A states I have the right to privacy. 15 USC section 604 states that a consumer reporting agency can not furnish a account without my written permission. So I didn't give written permission for these accounts to be on my credit report. Also, how was a proper investigation done when some of my accounts were removed from credit bureau but not all.
