I signed up with Weight Watchers Clinic on Friday 4/25 as self pay for a 6 month contract with an introductory rate of $149 the first month, and $229 the following months. After filling out a lot of questions, and submitting a picture of myself on a scale with my weight, was approved for GLP-1 meds. WW said the chat with my provider would be in 2-3 days, but the money was debited from my credit card IMMEDIATELY. I had to contact WW 3 times within a week to make contact with a provider, because I was ghosted- but they got their money. On May 1st WW chatted me that I didnt qualify now for an untrue reason- my BMI was too low. They had my BMI incorrect for my height and weight which was clearly on the scale. They said they canceled my membership but didnt- they just transferred it to the regular WW membership so it it still drafting monthly. PLUS I paid $148 for NOTHING!! This is FRAUD and I want my money back- how many people are they doing this to? And I want out of this monthly membership as well, period. I expected better from WW, thats why I chose them- so angry.Business Response

All our memberships are prepaid monthly, so the initial charge of $149 that the member paid covered their first month, which included a clinician consultation and one month of prescription medication, provided they qualified.
When the member did not qualify for the medication. The membership was downgraded from Clinic to Core, and our system automatically processed a prorated refund. We have now completed that refund to be $85, which covers the cost of the medication. The Core membership has also been canceled.Sincerely,

Hello,
i appreciate the refund of $85, and cancelling my membership very much- but i i am still entitled to at least a refund of $ 54 because the core membership was only going to be $10 a month. That would be the difference between the two. I also had to reach out 3 separate times myself to have a clinician even message me and there was no interaction at all. It was no, you arent qualified, even though we took your money a week ago-goodbye. No questions or concerns. It was clearly a bait and switch. I understand that I had access to the regular plan, but I only joined for the GLP-1 and because I was approved after the many questions I answered and photos I provided- or else I wouldnt have joined. But I am sure EVERYONE is approved until the nurse tells them a week later they arent and you already have our money? I am due my money back period. Thank you. ****** *****

I joined Weight Watchers online with the intention of being prescribed weight loss medications (per their advertisement). My insurance is denying covering the medications as I don't "weigh enough." Weight Watchers will not let me cancel my membership despite me not being able to get medications from my insurance. There is zero point in paying $74 a month when I cannot get the medications and they cannot provide them for me.Business Response

This member is currently enrolled in a 12-month commitment plan that includes a range of services beyond just prescriptions.
Additionally, the member has not yet had a consultation with a Clinician to explore all available options that might better suit their needs. Although a time credit was offered to compensate for the delay in scheduling a Clinician consult, the member declined this offer.Sincerely,

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# ********, and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because#1, I explained to WW that my insurance will not cover the medication they would hopefully be prescribing. There is no point to a membership if it cannot be used.
#2, my appointment was cancelled by WW and I could not get another appointment for another 2 weeks meaning it was over a month since I signed up to even be able to see a clinician. I have this appointment scheduled. However, even if I get a prescription, my insurance will not cover. I was offered a delay in my membership as a courtesy. When I asked specifically what this meant, I was told it would extend my contract. What kind of courtesy is that? Horrible business practices. I was told I they would no longer be communicating with me about my attempt to cancel. There is no phone number to call. Why would one pay for a membership where they haven't been able to see a clinician, I cannot fill any meds they may prescribe and they offer "courtesy" gestures which are actually just slimy tactics to extend your contract.
I want out of this contract. It's all over the internet how terrible WW is with these contracts (I should have researched before but I had trust in a big corporation).

While we understand the members frustration, the terms were agreed to. Prior to activating a membership, a short summary outlining the payment plan and cancellation policy is displayed, with key details emphasized in bold. Below this summary, there is a mandatory checkbox confirming agreement with these terms. The membership activation is contingent upon this box being checked.
WW Clinic memberships offer a comprehensive program that goes beyond prescriptions. Therefore, not getting a prescription or getting one filled would not be a valid reason for early termination of a commitment plan. This membership is set to cancel at the end of her commitment plan.Sincerely,

To Whom It May Concern,I am writing to formally dispute the continuation of charges on my Weight Watchers account following the cancellation of my membership. I enrolled in your program under a discounted New Year promotion with the sincere intention of improving my health. Unfortunately, despite following the plan, I experienced no measurable results and have chosen to discontinue my participation.Upon cancellation, I was informed that I would still be billed through October. This is fundamentally unreasonable and raises serious concerns about your companys billing practices. I did not agree to pay for a service I no longer wish to use, especially one that has proven ineffective for my needs. Forcing consumers to continue paying after cancellation is not only exploitative, it borders on ************ is deeply troubling that a company claiming to promote well-being would resort to tactics that financially trap individuals, particularly those seeking help during vulnerable moments in their lives. If your product were truly effective, customers would stay by choicenot contract.Your customer service wait times further compound the issue. Forcing members to endure excessive hold times is clearly a strategy designed to discourage cancellation and complaints. This is the kind of behavior that invites class action litigation. I am requesting that you immediately terminate all future charges and confirm the cancellation of my membership. If this matter is not resolved promptly, I will consider escalating it to the appropriate consumer protection agencies and exploring legal remedies.Sincerely,*** ***** **************Business Response

I To Whom It May Concern,
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to Complaint ID# ********, and I must state unequivocally that my complaint has not been resolved. In fact, the response only deepened my frustration and reinforced my belief that this company is operating in a predatory and unethical manner.
Like many people, I turned to your program at a vulnerable time. I was desperate to lose weight, and your advertising gave me hope. It sounded reasonable, manageable, and trustworthy. So, I signed up. I followed your instructions, stayed engaged. I complied with what was required. And yet, the results never came. What did come, however, were recurring charges, a rigid and binding contract, and an overwhelming sense of being taken advantage of.
The business model seems to be designed to trap people who are at one of the lowest points in their livesstruggling with weight, health, and self-worth. Instead of offering support or ethical guidance, the program locks customers into costly obligations and fails to deliver on its promises. This isnt just disappointing. Its exploitative.
Your response suggests that as long as the customer has paid, the company has done its jobregardless of outcomes or well-being. That kind of logic is not only callous but dangerous, especially considering that the program now includes medications that may have long-term side effects, particularly as they alter digestion and metabolism in ways we dont fully understand. You are playing with peoples health, futures, and hopes.
If this company is profiting, its likely doing so not through success stories, but by preying on the desperation of individuals who deserve compassionnot contracts. I wont be quiet about this. I intend to speak out about what I experienced, because others deserve to be warned.
Im not asking for money back, and you dont need to respond. But I urge you to take a long, hard look at your practices. You are exploiting people at one of the most fragile times in their lives. Thats not just bad businessits shameful. In order for the BBB to appropriately process your response, you MUST answer the question above.

q a week ago I went on the ********************************************** site to order the diet injectable Wegovy compound for weight loss. I filled out the formsand then they asked for a copy of my drivers license. Well, I had just changed my address on my drivers license so all I hadis a paper copy it did have a picture and a code. It was just provided by the state temporarily. The hard copy is it due to come for months so they denied me and refunded the money so I tried again to do it in a better photo and they accepted it and build me, then they said I was not eligible until I had a hard copy of my drivers license. I needed this medicine soon not four months fromnow and I wouldnt have paid for it if I knew it would be four months before theyve even possibly give me my product. So I paid120 something dollars for nothing. They did not deliver the product and have no plan to. I asked for a refund and they said oh sorry if this bums you out but were not giving you a refund so basically they my money and have nothing to provide for me in return. They are not gonna provide the prescription I paid for this is just wrong **** just cant believe it. Its so bizarre. They cant take my money and not deliver the product so I want a refund. I dont have a lot of money and its nothing to them but 1 something dollars is a lot to me and I still am gonna have to go somewhere else to get the product and pay another amount of money. so unfair and wrong. I cant get over that theyre trying to do this. They took my money and did not deliver what I ordered. I want a refund.Business Response

I did not want to use my insurance. I purchased without my insurance through another company after requesting cancellation. You were rude in telling me you would not discuss it further. If the clinic side provides glp1 options then what other services would I need it for since I went with a company that responds within 24 hours and provided options that same day. You take several days to respond. It seems robotic and not empathetic. Also, I dont even think you see me as a person or that the person responding is a person. I called to speak to someone and she told me that Id get a response and that wasnt helpful at all.Business Response

I had inquired about their weight loss medication program. I took the initial steps to enroll but after reading about the side effects chose not to move forward. They hit my account for a $49 charge. I immediately contacted within an hour. I have not met with a clinician or scheduled anything. I have reached out by message and phone and they are not honoring my request. They seem to think they can force me to take these medications. Im seeking to have my money refunded and not be contacted by the clinic team of WWBusiness Response

I signed up for a 12-month WW (weight watchers) plan on 04/23/2025, which was to include access to weight loss medication. However, after signing up, it was clear that the 5 minute process for eligibility of medication it advertised was false. In reality, WW requires copious documentation, some of which is inaccessible, and also requires lab work be completed. This was NOT stated anywhere prior to signing uponly after consumers submit payment and sign-up for costly, lengthy contracts that its revealed, which is clearly deceptive business practice. Not even 24-hours after signing up I requested to cancel and a refund given its deceptive tactics and lack of transparency, explaining that had I known all of this I would have never signed up.I cancelled online, then tried to follow-up using the chat feature and calling the number provided, and each time was told I need to contact my care team that said I would still have to fulfill my 1-year contract regardless and would be billed the 12-month term. They said they could not (not would not) refund or cancel the contract, and I explained that I had hoped they would do the right thing, as it offers customers in several states the right to cancel the contract within (3) days for a full refund, as required by state laws. While I acknowledged that ******** does not currently have such right-to-cancel laws, it does have consumer protection laws, and WW looks to have a systemic and predatory subscription service in violation of both state and federal law. I also explained that they could cancel and issue a refund based on other sections in the contract, e.g., through WWs voluntarily termination pursuant to Section 4.A.2. But the responses received seemed mostly to be automated/AI-generated.I am hoping BBB can help get this resolved, otherwise I will have to submit complaints to the *********** and *** for violating consumer protection laws based on its shady and unlawful business practices.Business Response

Our clinicians are responsible for reviewing each member's medical history and requesting any further information needed to ensure their safety, particularly when medication is a possibility.
Before a membership is activated, members are shown a brief summary outlining the payment plan and cancellation policy, with the most important points highlighted. They are then required to check a box to confirm their agreement with these terms before they can activate their membership.
Regarding "cooling off periods" under state laws, which permit cancellation within a short period after signing up, please note that these regulations apply to a specific set of subscription services and do not extend to medical services.Sincerely,

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# ********, and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:[Your Answer Here]
The brief summary that WW refers to is just thatbriefand provides none of the relevant terms, details, or subsequent requirements once joining the program. Even if you review the cancellation policy linked underneath it, youll find nothing on the additional requirements. So, based on how WW advertises its GLP-1 program to consumers (Take a 5-minute quiz to see if you qualify for prescription weight-loss medications), it reasonably leads consumers to believe that upon quiz completion that they do in fact qualify for the medication because consumers are immediately directed to signup and choose one of the plan optionsand one would assume, as I did, that the need to meet with a physician would be to discuss any follow-up questions and provide to the consumer additional information on the medication, including dosage, frequency, and so on. However, obviously that is not the case by any means, thus leading to my attempt to promptly cancel, WWs refusal, and this complaint. It is clear that WW engages in shady and deceptive business practices because it knows that if it were to disclose the actual requirements, steps, and process to consumers prior to committing themselves to the companys terms, then many people would no doubt opt to go with one of WWs many competitors, which, from personal experience, is exactly how other companies processes work (i.e., take the quiz to see if you qualify, if your answers determine that you do qualify, then you just meet with a physician to discuss the details on medication administration and go over any follow-up questions).
An additional issue I noticed since submitting my initial complaint is that my Care Team, which is supposedly 24 hours and who are to answer chats within 1 business day, have not done that either as one of my corresponding messages went unanswered for approximately 2 days.
Therefore, WWs response is NOT satisfactory because not only did it not issued a refund + terminated the remaining monthly payments, the response fails to address the issue of its deceitful and unlawful business tactics.
In order for the BBB to appropriately process your response, you MUST answer the question above.
Sincerely,
******* ***********

I joined WW clinic after being a reg customer. They sent me pricing which was not what I had been quoted previously from customer care. I tried to cancel within 3 business days as they were very slow and now they want me to pay $74 a month for 12 months even though I will not be taking up the medications. I just want to cancel the amount for the next 11 months.
