March 3 I signed up for the Ww diet medication. It was a 12 month contract. After they took the first pmt of approximately $124 they then tell me it will be 5 weeks before I have a consultation with their team and get meds. That alone made me very upset. They wanted info for my ** and insurance to get my lab work. Ok I wait 5 weeks have my consult and they didnt get anything from my ** and now want me to get my labs and send it to them. Well one I could have done that while I was waiting for 5 weeks 2. They had charged me $94 second pmt before the consult. Well now I am waiting for lab results and they are charging be a third pmt of the full amount$149 next week and I still have no perscription. They will not cancel this and see nothing wrong with charging me all this money and not getting my meds to me.Business Response

I signed up for the WW Clinic where they provide the weight loss medications, and of course you have to pay before you even see the schedule to make an appt. So there's a big contract and you put the first month down, and when the apps came up, I grabbed one for 3:40, but I didn't notice it was AM not PM, so closer to my appt, I called to cancel my other WW account so I can just do the clinic and they asked if I noticed the AM time and I said no, I just figured it was PM and they made a mistake. They told me I had to reschedule (I've already waited two weeks for this appt), and then the next available was almost three weeks out. I told them I wanted my money back and wanted to cancel and go somewhere else and they said "oh, your provider can go ahead with the 3:40 appt and just do it PM". I said okay, then one hour before my appt, the provider messaged me and said she already had an appt at that time and I had to reschedule. So now I have to reschedule three weeks out (a total of five weeks of waiting). I'm going to get a lawyer involved to try and get me out of the contract and have the first month refunded, and I'm closing my account so they can't draft any more fees out. Do not use them, TERRIBLE TERRIBLE TERRIBLE.Business Response

We understand the member has experienced scheduling difficulties, and we sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this has caused.
To help accommodate these issues, we initially provided a 15-day extension. Due to the ongoing delays, we have added an additional 15 days to the current extension. This will result in a total courtesy period of 30 days without any billing charges.Sincerely,
WeightWatchers

I think the 30 days without billing is something that automatically should have been offered and that would be fine, thank you for that. I just had my first appointment yesterday, sent in my blood pressure info, and got a message that my clinician will be in chat soon to discuss next steps. What and where is chat? We already discussed the next steps in the appointment and it's just dragging it out getting started, IF they even let me start (I was told I was going to be able to, but not if they string the process out past the time that semiglutide is not available to them anymore). It's been the worst experience so far and the clinician told me they are not offering the semiglutide after the 20th of this month, and I'll have to go with something else that will cost over $300 a month. I could have at least been on it two months not one. I'm sorry, I just really need to get started.

I joined Weight Watchers on February 21, 2025. I asked to cancel my membership the next day and I received a text message dated February 22, 2025 saying my membership was cancelled but I could continue using the account until December 22, 2025. I assumed they cancelled my membership but they said I made a commitment and I had to keep it until December 2025 and keep paying for it. I thought I had five days to cancel and they said I do not. This seems like shady business to me.Business Response

On our website, one must specifically select the plan one wants. The longer duration selected, the more reduced the price is. Our cancel Terms are very clearly stated on the website. In fact, during the sign up process, there is a box that must be checked before submitting that has two short paragraphs and in bold it states While you may cancel your subscription at any time, cancellation will not go into effect until the end of your Commitment Plan. After submitting, the next screen says Welcome to the Community and under Order Confirmation it shows again that same paragraph with the canceling message in bold. And yet again, it is in the sign up receipt email.

I am being charged 11 dollars a month for one year when I canceled my membership last month. I was not aware of a contractual obligation of a monthly installment for 12 months when I signed up. I have contacted customer service to no avail. I no longer use this service, I do not feel it is ethical to take money out of my account for one year for a service I canceled.Business Response

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# ********, and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:Weight Watchers is continuing to take my money each month though I am not receiving services from Weight Watchers. I feel misled in the sign up process and would have never knowingly agreed to have money taken from my account for a year. I feel this is a fraudulent and predatory scheme. I can understand why Weight Watchers is filing bankruptcy due to unscrupulous business practices.

I was prescribed the compounded *********** from this company. The medication was distributed for Weight Watchers through ****************. I noticed the medication was not working at all and researched the pharmacy. I learned that the *** has issued a 483 inspection warning on this pharmacy regarding the quality and efficacy of the products distributed. It is clear the product I received was not what I was guaranteed by the Weight Watchers company. This will easily turn into a legal dispute if not resolved.Business Response

Weight loss medications can affect individuals differently. Some people may experience no side effects at all, while others might have mild or, in rare cases, more severe side effects. Additionally, the time it takes to see the benefits of weight loss medication can vary. Some individuals may notice effects relatively quickly, whereas for others, it may take longer to observe any changes.
To clarify the information regarding ************************ The ************************************************** May of 2024 and was resolved some time ago.Sincerely,

Weight Watchers is offering GLP one medication. The medication was being offered at a significant price reduction compared to my previous pharmacy. I signed up for the program. It has been two weeks since they took my first payment and nothing has happened. I cannot reach a clinician. I do not have access to any clinician services or an appointment. They refuse to return my money. They also lock you into a contract that when canceling will still charge you for medication that you maynot be receiving. So my contract is already canceled. Which means it will not renew next year. But they will still charge me $189 permonth with or without services and medication Ive tried over and over to request a refund and cancellation due to the delay of services, but I just keep getting the runaround that Im signed to a contract and that I have no way out now I have no prescription ************ And no way out of the agreement. But this should be illegal. They are not of holding their side of the agreement. They already have my money therefore I should already have my medication.Business Response

On 4/17/2025 I decided to sign up for weight watchers glp1 program. I have previously been prescribed the medication but did not want to wait to get in to my PCP. My thought was that this was a reputable company and with my work schedule the online access would be convenient. Boy was I wrong. This was a bait and switch to the fullest degree. I signed up for the 3 month program only to be denied the medication. That would have been ok with me except they had already billed me and will not let me out of the contract. I expressed concern over this so the clinician ordered a glucose test to see if maybe that would qualify me. I had already submitted all labs to them. I tried to comply with their lab order only to get there and find out not only was it a 2 hour test but the lab did not have what they needed to do it. Im not able to go back due to my work schedule. Againthis was suppose to be more convenient. According to my PCP I qualify but to their clinician I do not. I immediately tried to get out of the program as red flags were going off. To my fault I should have researched them instead of relying on the name. I dont even mind paying for the consultation at this point as it was waived when I signed up. I never would have dreamed they would bill me for the product without qualifying me first. The sign up is very misleading and locks you in before you are able to see the clinician. This is a gross injustice to your customers and I would like to be refunded and discontinue my contract. I discussed this with my PCP today and they strongly advised me not to be seen by your clinician and they will work me in to their schedule.Business Response

Patient safety is always our primary concern. Based on the medical information provided by the member, the Clinician determined that they did not meet the criteria for any weight loss medication they were seeking. The member was offered the possibility of other medications but she refused.
Following further communication regarding this decision, the member's account has been canceled, and the medication cost has been fully refunded.Sincerely,

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# ********, and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:There is confusing verbiage regarding the weight watchers membership and the clinic membership I have asked for clarification that I have been removed from all aspects of the program and will not be charged for the next 3 months from either. I also paid $269 and was only refunded $85. I was sent an invoice which was very vague I only had an assessment in which I was told I did not qualify and the rest has just been back and forth from person to person when I asked to be removed from the program. I dont have a problem paying for a consultation appointment but I doubt that would cost $184!

I had purchased what I thought was weight loss medication only to find out I was not eligable for the medication and signed up for a 1 year commitment plan of $189 a month. I was misled and when I reached out to WW, they refused to terminate my plan and will charge me for a year against my will. Their plan was incredibly misleading and I signed up not even 24 hours ago. I would like them to terminate my plan and not charge me further. They were not willing to work with me on this issue but instead are holding me hostage into trying to sell me additional medication.Business Response

I was reading into a weight loss program and signed up for weight watchers online. First payment was *****. They sent me no prescription nor any treatments. I am being charged ***** a month for nothing. They cant cancel because it is a commitment plan and will have to pay monthly for the next 12 months. I did not see anything about a commitment plan that I have to continue despite I can not receive treatment plan that they have advertised. Called customer service and they were no help. They told me it was written all over that I have to pay regardless. Times are tough and feel that paying ***** a month for nothing, they providing me NO plan or treatment. I was trapped into getting the injections for weight loss. Last payment was posted on March 25, I had contacted the bank and shut off the card.Business Response

There are several subscription durations available, with longer plans offering the best value. Before activating a membership, a short summary outlining the payment plan and cancellation policy is displayed. Below this summary, there is a mandatory checkbox confirming agreement with these terms. The membership activation is contingent upon this box being checked.
The member was actively communicating with both the Clinician and the Care Coordinator but ceased contact. The clinician was in the process of gathering necessary details to propose a suitable treatment plan.Sincerely,

I joined WW in Nov 2024 with a 12 month for 6 month program ($11/mo). Over the first couple of weeks I was hit with many offers to explore the weight loss medications and explore if I was a fit and get costs. I did do a consult and received costs which were way out of my budget. I did not move forward and never engaged with the Clinic team again (this was late Nov/early Dec).I discovered in April than since Dec. I have been paying $99/mo because of this consultation and exploration. I DO NOT remember getting notification about this new monthly fee nor did I go back to the Clinic tab in the app after seeing those original cost prohibitive medication fees. When I called to talk to **************** on 4/14/25 about this, I was told that she had no oversight over clinic operations and that if I wanted to cancel I needed to go into the app and start a chat. I said Im on the phone with a live person now why do I have to go back into an app and text someone and wait for a response? She just kept telling me that she cant help that all communications and decisions go thru the app. I then went to the app, into the Clinic tab and cancelled my membership with explanation and said I wanted a refund due to switch in plans with no authorization from me. They replied with a confirmation of cancellation (but I will be monitoring my credit card closely) and told me they cannot offer a refund. I then received and email confirming this and it included a link to contact/email customer support with any questions. I did send this email and got a this is not a monitored email.I do not understand any of this and feel the way that I was moved around between plans feels very deceptive, the push to move people to medication which triggers a much higher fee even if someone doesnt work with the clinic team feels like fraudulent billing practices and the lack of real customer service even when speaking with a human feels lacking in personal care and integrity.Business Response
