Hi, on March 6th I joined WW intro price $49. I paid that. I was looking for support on weightloss. No where did I see that I would be locked in for 12 months, each month after intro at $74 a month. I officially was able to cancel today, not easy at all. I called again and not open again. I found an email address and sent a note advising I cancelled and got a response that they cancelled my membership but I would still be billed for 12 months at $74 a month. Since March 6th no service was provided. I called a bunch of times....nothing. I see a lot of complaints on the internet about this issue. I requested they confirm back to me via email that they will remove my credit card off their file and not bill me. I understand being billed the initial even though no service was ever provided. Tech issues on their site, I called nothing, all I got was an aut email form response. Terrible, unprofessional business. Please help me resolve. Thank you. I am asking that no future activity or billing against my credit card be taken . I feel like they are taking advantage of consumers. I called WW they said they could not assist. Shardeen is who I spoke with. She told me I had to go thru the clinic which I then did, **** also said she could not assist. My credit card is in file and both WW and Sequence has it. I feel like it's being held hostage. I received no service and called numerous times. Please help . The amount below is $74 x ****************************************** April 2025.

In fact, during the sign up process, there is a box that must be checked before submitting that has two short paragraphs and in bold it states While you may cancel your subscription at any time, cancellation will not go into effect until the end of your Commitment Plan.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# ********, and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

Hi, as stated and communicated several times.  I joined March 6th looking for weightloss support.  I received a single text from **** on April 2nd.  I cancelled my membership as no one from WW or Sequence gave me ANY SERVICE.  When I cancelled I started to get recipe emails from WW and healthy living texts, I reached out to WW finally and they cannot assist which is strange since they are the parent company of Sequence and they have my credit card on file as does Sequence I don't see that online.  No one helped me during intro period.  How can I be responsible to pay for NO SERVICE?  Where is WW and SEQUENCE?  I simply want my credit card removed from both WW and SEQUENCE and a refund of my April 7th payment of $74.  I am trying to resolve but understand all the complaints on the internet now.  How can you expect a consumer to pay for NOTHING and think that's right?  Please assist me with my request and remove my credit card from both WW and Sequence and refund me the $74.  I understand paying the intro fee even though I never had and support or assistance with my questions. ]

Weight Watchers clinic is using deceptive business practices to a lot of people into one year agreements regardless if they are able to provide a service or not. I signed up for Weight Watchers clinic on Saturday, March 22. On March 25, I received a chat from a clinician stating that she would review my medical records and make a recommendation on the next course of action. I explicitly stated that my insurance does not cover Wegovy or Zepbound. They submitted prior authorizations for the two medications that I stated were not covered shortly after I was presented with other treatment options, which exceeded $399 per month. At this point, I expressed that the program was not a good fit for me and it is not affordable. I asked to be downgraded to a regular Weight Watchers account where I could use the point system and the community. I was told that I cannot cancel for 12 months as I signed a commitment. The program does not work for me, it is extremely unaffordable, and I do not wish to engage with the program where everything is done by chat. It was my expectation that I have a virtual consultation with a clinician and that has not happened. The clinical care team its very slow to respond and it takes a day in between each Response just to get an answer. I communicated on March 27 approximately five days after enrolling in the program that I was not satisfied and not eligible for the program.Weight Watchers is giving very scam likely vibes. They are all about ****** people for their money and unfortunately I dont have it. I am extremely disappointed by the-lack of customer service that I have received and will never be affiliated with Weight Watchers again in life. I feel that this is going to end up in court at some point and its very unfortunate. I will not be bullied into paying $80 a month for a service that I am not receiving.

WW Clinic memberships include benefits beyond ***** prescriptions. Commitment plans cannot be canceled early solely based on ineligibility for ***** prescriptions, as the memberships offer a range of other valuable services. The subscription fee allows access to our expert Clinicians, refill coordination, a nutritionist, fitness coach, health coach, lessons within the account, and the chat! Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# ********, and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

Per my membership receipt, I was promised a virtual consultation with a board-certified clinician to review my medical history and create a personalized plan. This was unequivocally false. I was never offered a consultationonly a document submission via portal and a delayed chat response, which is wholly inadequate and misleading.

Upon being informed I was ineligible for services, I requested to downgrade my plan to the points-only option. I was then told I could not cancel or change my plan until March 2026despite having contacted WW within four days of enrollment. This is not only false advertising but a predatory tactic to trap customers in long-term commitments under fraudulent pretenses.

Given the misleading language, lack of real-time support, and absence of promised medical access, I no longer wish to be associated with WW in any capacity. I have excellent health insurance and access to licensed nutritionists; no reasonable consumer would pay $80/month for chatbot interactions and generic online resources.

WWs practices are exploitative and emotionally damaging, as echoed by countless other customer complaints. I demand immediate cancellation of my membership without penalty and a full investigation into these deceptive practices.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# ********, and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

As of May 2025, Weight Watchers has had over 389 complaints what a significant focus on a lack of transparency and billing issues. Theres no way to convince me that the customer is the problem. ********************** needs to update their policies and be honest with individuals. Unfortunately, this issue may end up in court. I will no longer discuss Weight Watchers nor will I be forced into paying for a membership that I do not utilize and have requested to cancel several times. The fact that you never meet with A register registered clinician virtually and everything is handled via text Has to be against some policy. No wonder they have to file for bankruptcy. You will have the day you deserve.

Weight Watchers advertises GLP-1 prescription weight-loss medications for members signing up for their service. Copy and paste from their website: "Jumpstart your journey - Take a 5-minute quiz to see if you qualify for prescription weight-loss medications.- Meet with a WeightWatchers clinician to discuss your goals, lifestyle, and needs.- Get matched with a treatment plan and determine the right weight-loss medication for you.- Start your journey with guidance from your Care Team, including a doctor and fitness coach." I took the survey and supposedly qualified for the GLP-1 prescription, so I signed up and paid for the program. I submitted all required personal medical records (5 years of records) and waited almost two weeks for an available appointment with a virtual clinician. Within the first minute of the appointment, the clinical nurse informed me that I did not qualify for the medication based on my body mass index. This was incredibly frustrating since my body mass index, including height and weight, was provided in the 5-miniute quiz (Step 1). Their reason for not providing the promised medical service was determined prior to me providing my credit card information and sensitive medical records. They promised me a service that they had no intention of delivering and scammed me into providing payment and they now have my personal medical records. I later learned that this happens often with many other victims. I do not feel with a company like this having my medical records. They need to be stopped and put out of business.

We take member safety very seriously. The quiz serves as an initial step for clinic memberships. Once members register, they're required to upload their medical history, similar to the detailed paperwork one completes at a traditional doctor's office. This information enables our clinicians to assess whether weight loss medications are safe for each member. This member's BMI is what kept her from getting the medication she wanted. She was offered other options but turned them down.

      The member has been refunded.

      Sincerely,

I rejoined this program and made an appointment with their registered dietitian - which they say is free. I decided to postpone starting this program because my doctor just put me on thyroid hormone and I am experiencing symptoms resembling a stomach flu off and on since then - almost 2 weeks. I have been waiting for my doctor to get back to me, but he hasn't, so I cancelled my dietitian appointment 18 hours beforehand and explained why in their automated system. I don't know what is happening. I received a message that I MAY be charged $99 for cancelling. I planned on rescheduling, but I need to know from my doctor if these symptoms will subside because I can't eat anything but saltines right now. I didn't realize Weight Watchers was so predatory - I thought it was reasonable for me to cancel. As soon as I canceled, I received an email saying I was charged $99. No discussion like they implied - no understanding that I had a good reason to cancel. Now, I can't speak to anyone - just a horribly inept AI chat. They can charge me $99 immediately, but won't speak to me about it. Weight Watchers is horrible. I want to cancel my membership and I want a refund of every dime I gave them, including the $99. I will dispute the charge with my bank. I am filing a complaint with my state attorney general. They are predators.

To avoid incurring a no-show fee for Registered Dietician appointments, please remember that cancellations must be made at least 24 hours in advance.

In this instance, considering the member's specific situation, the no-show fee was refunded on the same day.

      Sincerely,

Signed up for a 9month promo. Cancelled online several times and then ended up calling because I was charged after canceling online. Spoke to about 5 reps who all couldnt just cancel my account and forced me to keep it active until month end. I didnt ask for a refund I just no longer wanted my account open I made my 9 month commitment and no longer want the service. I have never been forced to leave something open. I asked for a supervisor was told 24hr TAT. A week later I get a call from **** (****** ********** *****) who identified herself as a supervisor which is a lie. Was very rude and direct and unhelpful and proceeded to act like she was doing me a favor by canceling the policy something that no one else could do. So unless you escalate this company forces you to keep the account active and charges you for it. Its a scam that needs to be addressed.

On 3/31/2025 I started the application process for a 6-month commitment (initial $49 commitment) with Weight Watchers Clinic for weight loss medication. Before I could proceed with the application and submitting information, I was required to provide my credit card information. It was my impression that the credit card would be billed once all the information had been provided to WW. It was my impression that I would know what specific medication was appropriate for me once I "spoke" with a "clinician." I was mistaken. Weight Watchers quickly billed my credit card before I had a chance to finish supplying my information. I didn't have a good feeling about this, so I sent a text message that I wanted to cancel the contract, be refunded the $49 and not be billed for the remaining months until Sept. 30, 2025. I attempted to call **************** at **********************, but was told that WW Clinic was different, and she gave me a phone number to call, assuring me that my cancellation and refund could be done. The number she gave me was wrong per the person answering, and I was told that WW Clinic is only telehealth (news to me). What I am finding out is that WW Clinic is AI generated, as I have attempted in my text responses to ask to talk to a person, and am repeatedly told that is not possible. They also continue to generate messages telling me I can cancel, but they keep my $49, and I will continue to be billed until Sept. 30, 2025. How is that canceling?? Their practices are misleading, especially since we are talking about a person's health, not some physical product. It is my understanding that PA law has a 3-day Cooling Off Rule which affords me the right to a refund. I want the $49 refunded, and my contract with WW until Sept. 30, 2025, canceled.

      Business Response

The initial fee at signup covers the first month of service. Also, please remember that before a consultation can be scheduled, members are required to upload their medical history. This allows our clinicians to review the information and request any necessary additional details to ensure patient safety, especially if medication is being considered.
This member signed up for a 6 month plan. Our cancel Terms are very clearly stated on the website. In fact, during the sign up process, there is a box that must be checked before submitting that has two short paragraphs and in bold it states While you may cancel your subscription at any time, cancellation will not go into effect until the end of your Commitment Plan.
The state laws governing "cooling off periods," which allow for termination, in some states, within a short time period after subscription sign up, only apply to a certain specific subset of subscription services and do not apply to medical services.

I signed up for weight watchers clinic in Jan. 2025 when my insurance provider would no longer cover my Wegovy for my insulin resistance. After my first dose of higher *********** prescribed by WW I began to have side effects, followed up immediately with my primary physician *** informed me to stop the medication immediately. I notified WW immediately of my Drs recommendation on 3/13/25. I also canceled my membership online. I was asked to get a statement from my provider stating I was unable to use the medication, which I did and provided. I was charged on 3/20 and again today 3/31 despite giving them the details. I have been told in a chat a provider is reviewing. Im unsure how long it takes to review a document when I promptly responded to the WW Dr *** sent me questions following up on my statement I provided from my Primary Doctor.

Was shopping around for online weight loss medication options. WW requires a credit card just to see payment options/ medications. It is not clear that they will start charging immediately, even if you dont continue the process. There were also many hidden/ additional fees they were not upfront about

Heres how membership activation works on our website:

      1. **Payment Plan Selection**: Customers choose their preferred payment plan.
      2. **Payment Information**: They enter their payment details.
      3. **Agreement to Terms**: Members must check a box to confirm they agree to the terms and conditions.
      4. **Activation**: Finally, they click 'Submit'.

Once these steps are complete, the first month's charge is processed, and the membership becomes active. Members may also incur additional charges for certain medications (not all) and for visits with a Registered Dietician, which are optional.

      Sincerely,

      WeightWatchers

Beware! I followed a WW link to get tirzepatide and got locked into a contract for compounded *********** which I never wanted. The customer care team has been awful and are willingly continuing to charge me for delivering no products or services. Its the worst corporate experience *** ever had. I want a refund for the first month ($269) and out of the 3-month contract.

The Care Team gave the member the link to change her membership to the one that offers branded Tirzepatide, which she did. And she was refunded the cost of the compound vial that was included in her original fee.

This membership is a 3-month commitment plan and our cancellation terms are clearly stated on the website. During signup, a mandatory checkbox includes two short paragraphs, with the following in bold: "While you may cancel your subscription at any time, cancellation will not go into effect until the end of your Commitment Plan."

      Sincerely,

      [Your Answer Here]

As I explained to the customer care team and in my original complaint, I clicked on a link for tirzepatide and then was charged for a 3 month commitment for ***********  Yes I changed my plan to tirzepatide only to find out how much more it was going to cost, which was not clear at all in the online process. Then when I explained I didnt want to proceed based on the higher price I was told I would be locked into the 3 month plan even though I would receive nothing for it  This is misleading and advertising and shady business practice.

      Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# ********, and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

As I have said numerous times, I followed an online WW ad, for Tirzepatide (see attached screenshot.) This took me to an online processing which required me to enter my credit card. I was then charged $269. I then found out from your ************* team that this was for compounded *********** that was included in the membership. Upon his recommendation, I changed the membership to one that would me to purchase Tirzapatide (which is the only medication that I wanted,) only to find out that it was going to cost me an additional $600+ per month. his was not clear in the online purchasing process. When I expressed my unhappiness with being misled, I was told there was no way out of the 3-month commitment.  I have zero interest in any of your other membership services and canceled the membership on 3/28/25. I want out of the 3-month commitment and to receive a refund for the first payment as I will not be receiving ANY services, products or benefits from WW. You should not have misled me in the first place by advertising Tirzepatide and then trapping me in a membership that was never for that medication. This is false advertising. You should NOT be charging for a membership without delivering ANY services! This is unethical in every way. Even ****** refunds the portion of a Prime Membership that isn't used. I don't care how many times you say that I legally obligated myself because I went through the online process with the thinking that I would get Tirzapatide when that was NEVER the case and was not clearly communicated in any way.

We regret that the member felt misled regarding the tirzepatide offering. We want to clarify that, as her screenshot indicates, the tirzepatide provided is the brand-name medication, not a compounded version. Currently, the only compounded medication we offer is ***********.

      Sincerely,
