I purchased a membership for medication aided weight loss through weight watchers in April 2024 with a 12 month agreement, paying $99/month. I received Wegovy injections through my health insurance. In January 2025 my insurance stopped covering the injections and I asked Weight Watchers to give me something more affordable. They replaced the injections (no longer covered) with generic pills for weight loss and changed my fee from $99 to $74 a month. I did not like the pills and did not take them. When the 12 months were over, I attempted to cancel my membership. I was told that, since I changed my medication in January, it renewed my membership for a new 12 months and I could not cancel. I never agreed in the chat to a new term, never signed an agreement, never informally agreed to extend my membership, and never informally was made aware that changing medication would extend my subscription. I attempted on many occasions to chat and cancel my membership, only to be given the same generic message that I cant cancel until January 2026. I have the chat log to prove that no agreement was made, and the email history with no updated contract agreement.

While we understand the members frustration, the terms were agreed to. The member's plan expired in January, and they opted for a new 12 month plan on 1/19/2025, and we do have a copy of the agreed-to terms and conditions. Prior to activating a membership, a short summary outlining the payment plan and cancellation policy is displayed, with key details emphasized in bold. Below this summary, there is a mandatory checkbox confirming agreement with these terms. The membership activation is contingent upon this box being checked.

The membership details have been fully outlined, and we can confirm that the membership will be terminated at the end of the committment period.

      Sincerely,

      WeightWatchers

I converted my basic Weight Watchers membership and signed up with the Weight Watchers medical clinic.on or around June 6, 2025. I discovered that their policy makes it nearly impossible to cancel the service, effectively locking customers into a ******** contract without any significant benefits. Although I initially overlooked the cancellation policy, I later learned that for the hefty monthly fee of $74, if I were to be prescribed medication, it would cost an additional $350 per month. This feels deceptive, especially since I haven't been able to utilize the service, and it's only been 1 weeks. I believe this practice misleads customers and unfairly takes their money. I have contacted them several times in the past week, asking them to cancel my membership, but they refuse. So far, I have not received any of their benefits because when I realized what the issue was, I did not want to continue.I want to cancel I cannot afford this

On 6/13/25 I enrolled in WW Clinic 12 month plan under the guise of one monthly fee that includes the cost of medication. The discounted rate for a years commitment was listed at $74. Once enrolled youre informed that the medication is actually about $350 additional cost. I immediately tried to cancel and have repeatedly been told that though Im unable to utilize the services due to complex medical issues and the need to follow my primary care teams plan, I will still have to pay for a full year of services whether I use them or not. I requested an escalation to a supervisor or other person in charge with the authority to correct the situation multiple times and continue to receive the same response. The first month was free so I havent made any payments yet and I also havent used the services. It should be easy to terminate the contract, effective immediately, under these circumstances.

On our website, there is information on the different medications and their approximate cost. While we understand the members frustration and hear the feedback, the terms were agreed to. Prior to activating a membership, a short summary outlining the payment plan and cancellation policy is displayed, with key details emphasized in bold. Below this summary, there is a mandatory checkbox confirming agreement with these terms. The membership activation is contingent upon this box being checked.

Our WW Clinic memberships have more to offer than just GLP-1 prescriptions, so not getting these prescriptions is not a valid reason for us to terminate a commitment plan early. The member does have the option to move forward with a consultation and treatment plan, but if not, the membership will be terminated at the end of the commitment period.

      Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# ********, and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

The business has since updated their website to reflect their current options. At the time of my enrollment they were advertising access to a medication and cost that were in fact NOT an option and the business provided my quote based on options that they were no longer offering. That is a fraudulent quote and I believe to be in violation of the agreement on the business behalf. Knowing that the other services offered are services I already receive AT NO COST from my primary care team and the additional cost for medication would be thousands more than what was quoted- because the company was not offering the option they quoted me for- I would never have agreed to the terms and would not have enrolled to begin with.

These offerings may change based on medication availability and patient eligibility after a clinical review of information. The decision to stop offering compounded *********** came from *** guidance, and the program continues to offer some medications included in the program cost.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# ********, and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

At the time of my enrollment the medications being quoted were not even being offered. That is false advertising. If I had been aware that compounded *********** was not even an option, I would not have agreed to the terms. The website has since been updated to reflect this change, which is good for future customers, but it does not make right this situation. I was mislead into believing there were options available within my budget when there were in fact none. As I said before, had the options available been updated to reflect what was actually being offered, I would not have agreed.

On June 8, 2025, I saw a WW advertisement for a Wegovy weight loss medication. I have been exercising my whole life, but recently, I suspect due to aging, I am no longer able to lose weight anymore. The advertisement stated I could sign up with Weight Watchers to obtain Wegovy. From researching the product I learned Wegovy takes about 1.3 years of using the medication to achieve results. The Weight Watchers 'commitment plan' I signed up for was 12 months in line with the timeframe for the best Wegovy results. I was led to believe by the advertisement I was signing up and paying for ******. After signing up and completing the online intake process I was advised by Weight Watchers I did not qualify for ****** per *** guidelines. On June 13, 2025, (five days after the initial sign up) I attempted to cancel the 12 month 'commitment plan' with Weight Watchers, since I was no longer getting the product I agreed to pay for. Weight Watchers advised I am obligated to pay the full 12 month 'commitment plan', even though they will not be providing the product/service they advertised to me. I am filing this complaint due to Weight Watchers deceptive advertising, and their failure to cancel my plan after they were unable to provide the service they advertised. Weight Watchers care coordinator '******* *.' and a Doctor, '****** *****', both messaged me advising I may be able to get Wegovy if I proceed with 'lab tests'. I have since asked how to proceed with these tests (how do I schedule them, where do I go) and have not received a response other then a link to a webpage which generic 'treatment' information. At this point Weight Watchers has deceived me into signing up for a service/product they are refusing to provide. Instead of helping me lose weight, they seem only interested in helping me lose money via deceptive business practices.

I signed up for weight watcher for $10 a month. I kept getting emails about the WW clinic to get weight loss medication for $189 compound *********** a month. I researched for a couple of days and I decided to join. The clinic doctor scheduled a zoom appointment and then she had to cancel and I had to reschedule an appointment. During our zoom appointment she informs me that they can no longer get the compound medication for $189. But they were using all name brand medications which started out to be the lowest $349 month plus the membership fee. I told her that I wasnt interested anymore bc I could not afford that. I started getting messages that I still had to pay $79 a month for the membership. Why would I pay for something that Im not getting anything for. I have asked repeatedly to cancel due to ww not being able to give me what they advertised. I am so disgusted with weight watchers! They are misleading people to commit without giving the whole information. I didnt know they filed for bankruptcy until I started looking at the reviews. I now think they are scheming people. I just want them to cancel the misleading membership and that I will not be charged for anything!

I originally signed up for the $10 a month weight loss plan. I then saw that they were doing the weight loss shots so I signed up for that. The advertisement was 179 for the shot a month. After I signed up, they said that was not the case. So they misled on the price of the *********** . I beg them to go back to the $10 month plan and they told me no. That I would have to pay for the membership fee of $79. So I did a complaint to the Better Business Bureau and they did cancel the $79 membership fee. But now they are trying to charge me $10 a month for the plan that I beg to get back on. They are also charging a card that I did not give permission to.I am so disgusted with Weight Watchers and I do not wanna have anything to do with them.

The member initially signed up for the compound *********** membership. However, due to the *** halting production of that medication, her membership was switched to our standard Clinic plan at $74.00 per month. This plan does not include the cost of medication, and the member indicated that she could not afford this additional expense.

Subsequently, her Clinic membership was canceled, and she was switched to a Core membership at $10.00 per month, as she had requested. This is a 3-month plan and is set to end on 9/12/25. The charges are being applied to the credit card the member provided when she originally signed up. Please note that we only have access to the payment information that members directly provide.

On May 28th 2025 I signed for a 12 month subscription with weight watchers, the 1st month was free and the 11 coming months I was supposed to pay $78.00 My first consultation was scheduled on June 2nd 2025 at 12 pm. My coach never shows up to our face time appointment, after I wait ************************************************************************* 7 minutes I can't see my coach to try to log out and log in right away, I did and I'll wait a total of 10 minutes and this person never showed up or even call me to apologize for the delay. That same day I received a message saying that my clinician show up at the appointment at 12:11 pm but I left the chat at 12:10 pm so when I saw the message I just replied that I was no longer interested on using this company and that I want to cancel my subscription. They responded next day that they can't cancel my subscription and even when I'm trying to explain over and over that I didn't even get to use their service I should be able to cancel because it's only been a few days since I signed in, they refused to do it, with the excuse that I sign for a 12 months subscription.

We understand the member's frustration, and we hear the feedback regarding our Clinician sync process and visit. The member has been given the option to reschedule, obtain a time credit, and continue the program, which they have denied. While it is unfortunate that the Clinician missed their initial visit, this is not a valid reason for membership termination.

Please be advised that this case will not be reviewed further as the decision is final.

I was exploring the weight loss plan and seeing if I was eligible. Without confirmation of eligibility I was enrolled in plan I was exploring that I did not approve. I realized the error within 24 hours and with no services rendered. I tried to reach out to the company several Times and they will not correct the error and cancel (claiming I need to fulfill 3 month commitment which is $49 initial payment and 2 more months at $100 each). I have reported to my credit card and cancelled the card.

Signed up for an account giving me access to compounded GLP-1 medication in late April. Successfully ordered 1 month of medication, and then WeightWatchers cancelled the ability to order compounded medication in May. WeightWatchers is now refusing to refund me, claiming that I signed up for a subscription, but they pulled a bait and switch, leaving me with a useless account that doesnt satisfy the business relationship that was agreed upon.

In the beginning of June if this year I was surfing the web trying to find a source of the Weight loss drug wegovey that I could afford. Eventually found weight watchers offering weight loss wegovey at a price that Was affordable The hook was that I would have to sign up for 12 months so that the price would be something I could afford. After supplying all my medical records and Iidentification and being approved for the medication the true price of the medication was revealed at many multiples of the original price. I immediately let them know that this was not possible, and that I wanted to have my information removed from their system. They responded that the cost was for a compounded version of wegovey that they no longer had available and that I was responsible for the 12 payments.

On 6/5/25, I received an email from Weight Watchers promoting PRIDE MONTH. I immediately responded informing that I had experienced very severe trauma because of this movement and asked that my subscription be cancelled. However, WW insists on obligating me to six more months at $11/month; totaling $77. After holding 30 minutes today **************), I was transferred to ******** in Corporate Affairs. She spoke over me haughtily, coldly unsympathetic to my distress. It was apparent she even enjoyed the opportunity to do so, adding that there was no higher authority than herself within WW. "You can try speaking to God." I want nothing to do with WW after experiencing such belittling indifference. You would think WW would prefer satisfied customers rather than go full blown political on such a divisive matter. I note WW is in a reorganization to prevent bankruptcy.
