On 6/5/25, I received an email from Weight Watchers promoting PRIDE MONTH. I immediately responded informing that I had experienced very severe trauma because of this movement and asked that my subscription be cancelled. However, WW insists on obligating me to six more months at $11/month; totaling $77. After holding 30 minutes today **************), I was transferred to ******** in Corporate Affairs. She spoke over me haughtily, coldly unsympathetic to my distress. It was apparent she even enjoyed the opportunity to do so, adding that there was no higher authority than herself within WW. "You can try speaking to God." I want nothing to do with WW after experiencing such belittling indifference. You would think WW would prefer satisfied customers rather than go full blown political on such a divisive matter. I note WW is in a reorganization to prevent bankruptcy.

I decided to cancel my membership with Weight Watchers because I didnt think that was what I needed to do for my health and they told me that I couldnt cancel and I would have to pay every month until 3/31/2026 which will mean I am gonna give them $120 for nothing and they forcing me to continue using this program the amount is so far I want to cancel this membership

On our website, one must specifically select the plan one wants. The longer duration selected, the more reduced the price is. Our cancel Terms are very clearly stated on the website. In fact, during the sign up process, there is a box that must be checked before submitting that has two short paragraphs and in bold it states While you may cancel your subscription at any time, cancellation will not go into effect until the end of your Commitment Plan. After submitting, the next screen says Welcome to the Community and  under Order Confirmation it shows again that same paragraph with the canceling message in bold. And yet again, it is in the sign up receipt email.

      Sincerely,

      WeightWatchers

I wanted to Join WW for the semaglutides. I'm 72, have used WW several times through my life. I joined on May 5. My plan was $10 a month. With a code, the first month was free. I paid $129 for the medication. On the same day, I wrote my *** to let her know what I was going to do. She said she would not recommend the compounded ***********. That was enough to scare me, and so I asked to cancel membership. At about the same time, WW had decided not to offer the compounded semaglutides. That's when I learned they were not *** approved. I had a lot of conversation with numerous WW staff. I included all the chat conversations within this filing. Everyone was polite but I got nowhere. There seemed to be different membership amounts. On May 24, (posted on the 26th), I was refunded $85 and $13.68(?). I was told the medication WAS NOT $129, but $85 (see my receipt). By this time, other charges had mounted up ( I cancelled on the 8th). I have been asking only for the $129 to be refunded. Kindly read the chat and see documentation. I am asking for the remaining $30.32 to be refunded. Thank you.

The $129 charge was a combination charge for the vial of medication ($85) and the rest of the charges are related to the membership fee ($44). The member has been assigned a pro-rated refund for the unused time related to the membership fee, but is not eligable for further refund.

Please be advised that this case will not be reviewed further as the decision is final.

      Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# ********, and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

      1. I have not received a full refund

      2. See first attachment--WW was signing me up under false pretenses. They shouldn't have been pushing the compounded *********** in the first place.

      3. See second attachment--Review Your Plan--Membership $10. Medication ADD-ON $129. NOT MEDICATION AND MEMBERSHIP!

Comment: Their illegitimacy and perversity in adding memberships is so blatant. It wasn't like this in the past. They used to be reliable and caring. I'm sorry for the number of people who turned to WW for help. Not only were they not helped, they were cheated, as evidenced in BBB comments as well as numerous other sites.

      Sincerely,

On 6/3/25 I joined the Weigh Watchers Clinic under the impression that the prescriptions were included in the price. Upon realizing my mistake I propltly messaged them (within 2 hours of signup) asking to go back to my old plan. I cannot afford the whole plan. They refuse to cancel my commitment. I have not received any clinician services at this point in time. I do not want the services and just need the entire plan cancelled. I called weight watchers on 6/4/25 after attempting to cancel the plan. I had successfully canceled my normal plan (not the new clinic plan), but being that the Clinic is a separate entity they could only escalate my request to the clinic, but could not help. Please help me get this resolved.

There are several subscription durations available, with longer plans offering the best value. Before activating a membership, a short summary outlining the payment plan and cancellation policy is displayed (multi-month plans may only be canceled for the end of the plan). Below this summary, there is a mandatory checkbox confirming agreement with these terms. The membership activation is contingent upon this box being checked.

I called to cancel membership. The guy/girl kept offering me a more expensive membership or a month free. I kept asking when I was eligible to cancel. He wouldn't tell me. Finally, when I got him to admit that I am able to cancel after my next bill, he offered me both choices again. When he offered me one more month of my "core membership" for free just complimentary, I said thank you that was very nice. And he tacked on an additional month of billing at the same rate I've been paying. I said, hold on, that's not free! Just cancel. Don't add that month. lol! He said, sorry too late. Your core membership costs that amount. I asked how is that free or complimentary? He said sorry for the confusion but it's too late now to go back. We went back and forth and he refused to give me his name. Just said to call a coach, but oops, it's after hours. If I asked for his name, he just sent the same message over and over again. I'm so mad right now. And not even over a ton of money, just over the dishonesty from what I thought was a reputable company!! I'm going to share this anywhere I can! Disallusioned with WW!! ??

I am filing this complaint regarding misleading advertising and unfair enrollment practices related to WW's new "Clinic" membership program, which I enrolled in via their mobile app on June 2, 2025.I have been a loyal Weight Watchers (WW) customer for several years, consistently maintaining a regular WW membership. Recently, I saw a promotion within the WW mobile app advertising the new Clinic membership at $74/month for 12 months, highlighting access to ***** medications. Based on the way this was presented in the app, it strongly implied that the ***** medication was included in this ******** no point during the mobile enrollment process was it clearly disclosed that the $74/month did not include the cost of ***** medication. Only after enrolling did I discoverby accessing the WW website from a desktopthat there is a footnote (buried in fine print) clarifying this. This important information was not visible or mentioned during mobile enrollment.I contacted WW customer service within 48 hours to cancel, but they refused, stating that Im locked into a 12-month contract, even though I have not used any of the clinic services and was misled during the sign-up process. I have no need or intention to use this clinic membership for any other purpose other than to receive the ***** medication at the advertised price of $74/month. In addition to the misleading marketing, I am currently facing serious financial hardship. My wife had to leave her job to care full-time for our young daughter, who is in a body cast following major hip surgery. I cannot afford the additional cost of ***** medication on top of the $74/month fee, which I would not have agreed to had the terms been properly disclosed.Resolution Sought:Immediate cancellation of the WW Clinic membership.Waiver of the 12-month commitment and associated fees.A review and correction of the mobile app enrollment process to prevent other customers from being misled.

I had signed up for the Weight Watchers clinic program in order to obtain a semiglutide that was compounded. I was informed via the app and email thatWW could no longer supplied the compounded medication due to a *** ruling. I was told via text on the WW app that IF I did not request a refill of semiglutide by 05/18/2025 my membership would be cancelled on 05/22/2025. However, instead of cancelling my membership on that date WW charged me $179 on 05/27/2025-which was the clinic fee and the medication fee. According to their text, my membership would be cancelled. Instead I was charged. I contacted WW multiple times regarding the charge since I saw it on my checking account only for them to drag it on until someone from WW finally texted me that they refunded only $94 of the $179 charge for May. They also turned around on 06/04/2025 and charged me another $4.43 for a membership that was supposed to have been cancelled. At this point they will have to send me a check for any refund because I had to cancel my bank card just to stop them from taking money out of my account! Document can be provided of all conversations and charges.

The member's account has been canceled as requested. She has been refunded for the subscription portion of her May charge.  Please note that the $85.00 charge on the account was for the final refill processed on May 11th. Refill charges are applied after the prescription is written and are included on the membership's regular monthly bill date the following month.

03/27/23 signed up with Sequence online weight loss for a year and paid this in full. Thereafter, the company underwent changes and merged with Weight Watchers. Since that time, it has been very confusing what type of membership I had but my understanding was month to month. I had no communication from the company about my plan but just noticed it was converted to monthly billing for $74.00. Sun June 1st I cancelled before they payment and notified them. They said I was in a longterm plan and not elgible till the end of the year to cancel. At that time they sent me the terms for canceling. They have refused to give me the details on a document I signed to be longterm rather than month to month. I have disputed with my bank but no resolve. I want them to cancel my membership now and no further charges. The medication is also starting to give me pain and headaches even with the reduced dose. I have told them I dont want any other alt medication either. They are not helping me but want to keep charging and seemed to have put me on an auto renewal for long term subscription without me consenting.

I signed up for WW membership with medication. I ended up canceling almost immediately after signing up for a few reasons. 1. They said they no longer were able to ship medication 2. I had a change in income to my household and could not afford any type of membership. I canceled online and was not informed that I would still be charged every month for a year, minus $85. I wasnt even a member and never received any services or medication. There is no option on the website to talk to anyone or send an email, etc. There seems to be no customer service at all. I also had an extremely hard time even logging in to the system to even look at the account. Once you get in, it almost starts you over again with signing up, instead f taking you to the account. Its very sketchy for such a large company.

When considering complaint information, please take into account the company's size and volume of transactions, and understand that the nature of complaints and a firm's responses to them are often more important than the number of complaints.

BBB Business Profiles generally cover a three-year reporting period, except for customer reviews. Customer reviews posted prior to July 5, 2024, will no longer be published when they reach three years from their submission date. Customer reviews posted on/after July 5, 2024, will be published indefinitely unless otherwise voluntarily retracted by the user who submitted the content, or BBB no longer believes the review is authentic. BBB Business Profiles are subject to change at any time. If you choose to do business with this company, please let them know that you checked their record with BBB.

As a matter of policy, BBB does not endorse any product, service or business. Businesses are under no obligation to seek BBB accreditation, and some businesses are not accredited because they have not sought BBB accreditation. BBB charges a fee for BBB Accreditation. This fee supports BBB's efforts to fulfill its mission of advancing marketplace trust.
