Trying to change a credit card on line. Can log in, but cannot use any self service tools. Tried calling in. Over one hour hold times. Very poor. Utilities should be held to a minimum set of standards with respect to customer service.

I have a condo that no one lives in. The electric bill keeps going up despite having everything unplugged, ensuring that every door and every window is closed and that the furnace is set to 68, which was the illuminating companys representatives recommendation for reducing energy costs. This month's bill came in, and the energy usage had somehow gone up an additional 500+ kWh despite no one living or using anything there. The representatives at the illuminating company either read a script or dont care. None of them would give me any resolution except to check the meter for accuracy. I had to reach out to PUCO to get any recommendations on how to figure out the problem. Their only solution was to do a “breaker test,” call an electrician, or have PUCO reach out to the illuminating company and have them run another meter check (which the illuminating company already did). So now, I am stuck with a $233 bill for a small condo that no one uses, and there is nothing plugged in. I don’t know how this company is still in business. I am not sure how they have a monopoly on the area. I am not sure how they have been in business for over 100 years and are not BBB accredited.

I am a new resident in a brand new construction at ******** **** ********* in Hagerstown MD. For the last 3 months my electric bill was averaging $40. I live in a 4 bedroom house but I am the only person living. This month in Feb 2024 I got an electric bill of $782. It also shows that I consumed approx 600 kWh of electricity in Jan. That’s impossible to consume that much electricity in a single month. I called the customer service and they justified saying that it’s what the meter reading says. My neighbors also told me tbat their electricity bills came triple the amount last month. It seems like their meter is either broken or there is some error in their billing but I don’t accept that I consumed 6000kwh. Their helpline is useless and this is highway robbery. If this issue is not addressed in due time I will file a complaint with all my neighbors to consumer affairs and also at public service department.

Scheduled shut off for last day of November. Keep getting billed. As of 1/19/24 got yet another bill have called 6 times as of today. 3 weeks ago I was told Id get a refund but got another bill?! Was told today I owe it and they can do nothing about it? Not my fault they cant do their job! No notes on file? No supervisor but she forwarded a complaint. Why is it being recorded then? Why are there no notes of previous calls? Bad business ethics.

Customer service for MonPower is a complete and utter failure. I had one simple item that required attention - changing the name of an account from the estate of my deceased husband to the trust of my minor daughter. The request took just under two hours of being on the phone with incompetent idiots who have no idea what they're doing and continually put me on hold. It is not rocket science - the service address remains the same. The deed is now in a different name, and the billing address needs updated. Get it together!

I had used this company for 8 years and I was happy, until recently. I over paid my bill by quite a bit of money. It was an honest mistake. I called in November and was told that I would get a check in 10 days. The check never came so I called back in December. I was told my case was in review and that it would take 30 days. Next, a manager called me and said that it would take 60 days to review. It's ridiculous that keep changing their time-line and now I'm the one struggling financially.

HORRIBLE company. First of all, it's almost IMPOSSIBLE to call them - there are always 60+ people ahead of you on the phone. They offer a callback. Last time a woman called back only to say she can't answer questions and would put me through to the right department and guess what? There were 60 calls ahead of me. We had service in our rental. Our tenants never paid the bill. It went up to $10,849.90 Not a single communication from West Penn to say the bill was outstanding. No shut off notice to the tenant. Couldn't log onto the account to pay the bill. Said the account was closed. But guess what? After waiting on hold for an hour, the lady located the account no problem when it came time to pay the bill. This is the problem when there is no competition.

I have used Potomac Edison for 5 plus years. When I moved addresses I was told my remaining usage from last address would be added to my next current bill. Under that impression I paid my next current bill believing what I was told. Apparently that was not the case & $79 was never paid, and I had no idea. When I called every month to make my monthly payments they told me all accounts were up to date & my old addresses were taken off the account. With that being said I was under the impression everything was up to date and handled. Well three years later I’m on credit karma and see I have a $79 bill in collections. I call Potomac decision and they said they sent me the bill and it was never paid… I told them what I stated to you above and they didn’t even apologize for a employee giving me wrong information and said they did their part. I’ve spent thousands of dollars with on time payments with Potomac Edison for them to send a $79 bill to collections and tell me over and over again all my accounts were up to date how could I ever be aware of it. I never even received a bill from the collections agency. This has harmed my credit and Potomac Edison should be held responsible for it. They are very rude and every representative has something different to say. Poorly trained.
