06.29.2024 Waited 20 mins for someone to come in. Was told at 230pm that my car wouldn't be fixed until Monday 07.01.2024 . This left me stranded in Alabama with 2 young boys 13 hours from home. I called at 8 am Mon to ask for any update. Was just told repeatedly that it was a 5 hour job that would be done. Called again at 130 pm was told they hadn't even pulled it in the shop to work on it. My children and I were stuck outside with no car or shelter until we got an Uber back to the shop at 430 pm. At 6 pm when the shop was closing and most employees had left, they brought my car up only to it not being able to start (which was never an issue, my car was simply overheating). I was told that a door had been left open and it drained my battery. After a parts and labor charges $825 later we finally got to leave AL sunburnt and broke. I definitely felt taken advantage of as a woman.Parts for my car totaled $95.00 and fluids were $25. I drove my car home with my battery barely holding charge. I took my car to my local shop to be informed that after the car overheated it went into protection mode. The system was never reset to clear the code causing it to revert to protection mode. I am now paying another $300 for my local shop fix the issue caused by GoodYear. While in the shop in Foley another customer left and came right back as his car was still having issues. The tech told ***** the manager that they had put a loose belt on and knew it when the man drove out. ***** told the tech that he should have done the job correctly and charged the guy for the belt but since they did not the customer was going to get it for free. He also complained that the staff was not Master-Tech certified. It just goes to further show how UNDERQUALIFED this shop is to even work on a car.Business Response

I purchased tires from ************. I was told in writing that my purchase qualifies for a $100 rebate. See the attached "Goodyear Order Details." I followed the procedure to claim the rebate online. The claim status is that the claim will not be reviewed until I respond to an e-mail that was sent. I received no e-mail.Customer Answer

I have received two voicemail messages from ***** **********, stating that she is from Goodyear headquarters, and asking me to call ************. When I call, the contact center agent does not know who she is, and the agent insists that the claim number given to me by ***** is invalid because it is only numerical digits.Business Response

My original appointment with this auto service center was on 6/22. I was scheduled to receive a brake inspection, get the brakes repaired, a battery corossion cleaning, and an air filter replacement. At 11:30 am I brought my car in, and the front desk associate confirmed these services would be completed by 6 pm the same day.
At 5:30 pm that day, I called to find out that no services were completed and that I would have to come get my car and come back another day.
I did not plan to return to this business until I got a call from their service manager on 6/24, saying that I would receive the air filter and corrosion cleaning for free, and half off the brake repair.
I brought my vehicle in again on 6/27. They called me saying I would need rear brake pads and a serpentine belt replacement.
Upon viewing the receipt of the service, I now see that I got price gouged, and that they charged me for higher labor than they would have other customers. I was charged $711.95 in labor alone for the rear brake pads and serpentine belt. I did not get the rotors replaced. There is no way this should have been $711.95 in labor. They simply did this to make up for the half off I was verbally promised. My receipts are included.
This is a standard operation that should have costed no more than $300 in labor at the most. Because of the half off, I am seeking $205 from this company ($410 if full price).
This is an unfair practice. I would not have returned if I knew I’d in fact still be paying full priceBusiness Response

I took my car to Goodyear on 06/15/2024. I received an inspection at no cost because I went on a 400-mile road trip to Georgia the next day. On the road trip, my car began making a concerning noise. I saw a mechanic in Georgia who said my car had virtually no oil.
My car had oil in it before the inspection. I believe they drained my car of oil and didn't replace it. I have tried to contact the business but they are not cooperative. I cannot reach their customer service line as I wait for over an hour on hold.
I spent 100 dollars to see a mechanic and correct the issue in Georgia. I spent another 120 getting it diagnosed once I was home for the road trip, and another 84 dollars for an oil change I did not need.
I would like to get a refund for the money I spent correcting the damage done to my car by Goodyear.Business Response

My car was taken in for cutting out during warmer temperatures and when starting after a stop. It cut out close to Raben. I was able to get the car to a parking spot there. There were no lights on. I told the technician the car when start in the morning and only when warm upon restart would cut out. He told me it needed a whole new engine and tried to sell me an engine. He said it didn’t throw a diagnostic code. I had already told them that. I took my car elsewhere. The timing chain was loose and sensor need replaced. The car did not show a code for this place either but they were able to visualize the loose chain and don’t try to sell me a bunch of stuff I didn’t need. I knew when they told me I needed a whole new engine they didn’t know what they were talking about or were trying to upsell me. Either way I refused and picked up my car. I now want my money back for the diagnostic fee. I question if they even ran the test on my car.Business Response

Hello to whom it may concern, we have made multiple attempts to contact the customer with no success via telephone and email we have a case started for customer, they can call us at ************** ******* ** monday - friday 8:30am - 5:00pm est aand refrence number *******, thank you and have a great day .Customer Answer
Date: 07/22/2024
I am rejecting this response because:
The business sent one email demanding documentation of what I had done to my car. They stated my car wouldn’t run without a new engine. The fact I drove it away from their business shows they were wrong. Also they asked for copies of paperwork that was provided in the original complaint. Please refund my money. The timing chain and a sensor were replaced not the entire engine. They wasted my time and tried to take advantage of me.Business Response

I got an oil change in November of 2023. I work from home so don’t drive my vehicle very often. I went to get an oil change last month and there was major issues. My oil pan had been pushed in by 30 pounds of pressure which caused issue putting it back in due to it’s stripped now so had to be repaired . It was jammed inside and had to be repaired. I contacted Just tires to advised, provided evidence and they can care less. They admitted to applying that amount of pressure but disagreed with the price and then decided to denied and shifted Blame due to they didn’t inspect the vehicle prior. I am out 1600 for a problem they created and they can care less . Never reviewed the evidence and never followed up as promised.Customer Answer

I took my car for an oil change early morning on May 14th at Goodyear business. Prior to service no mechanical issues. The following day May 15th on my way to work my oil light came on out after I had just got an oil change the day before so I was wondering how was it possible there was no oil in my car. My car cut off on me in the road with a ticking noise because all oil had leaked out. So I called Goodyear to explain what had happened. I spoke with someone name ***** and he said if I could get the car to them, they would take care of the bill. Because I wasn't able to get the car up there Goodyear came with a tow truck to get the car themselves on May 16th. Then I was told they would see what was going on then follow up with me to come get the car. Later that afternoon, a manager called saying I would have to take care of the bill and towing service because it doesn't look like something they did on there end. The guy also said to me, ma'am sometimes these things just happen. That's not except able. In addition, he used his truck for an example saying his battery light came on and he needed a battery continuing to say sometimes these things happened at anytime even though the oil leak wasn't there prior to oil change service from them. After reviewing reviews I've learned this place has had the same to others that complained they didn't have an oil leak prior to service. Please assist with necessary actions to get my car repaired if they haven't made it worse now that there's a ticking noise in the engine.Business Response

A message has been left for the customer to contact our office. Thank youCustomer Answer
Date: 07/09/2024
I am rejecting this response because:
No efforts were made to contact me on regards of their unprofessional business ethics on this case. These things just “do not happen” especially when routine maintenance is done. That is a lazy unjustifiable excuse to not take responsibility for your poor automotive mechanic performers. If you had performed your PM honorably instead of pencil whipping like y’all do this would have been prevented. Pencil whipping is signing off on a document without THOROUGH inspection, for the people who does not know. PMCS, preventive maintenance checks and services, what we perform constantly in the military on vehicles. I want the response on the resolution in here so everyone here can see. Did you know this is basically violating the Ga Consumer Law? This is an easy formidable lawsuit and attorneys love easy cases. Legal insurance is the best thing someone can invest in for disputes like these. Something we can handle at the lower level that y’all can resolve but you rather fight the consumer instead of aid them? That’s really absurd.Business Response

Upon further investigation, we have made the determination the Goodyear Service Center is not at fault. The customer originally requested a standard oil-change. The store recommended 4 tires, and an alignment. The recommendation was declined. The return visit was for a complaint of a pull. Upon returning the customer had 2 used ********************** installed and one having an improper repair. The store was given approval to replace 2 tires and upon the service found the CV boot torn. The customer approved the work. The customer returned again complaining of a vibration. The service tech went on a test drive and the vibration was faint. They inspected the suspension and all the components, and everything was good. They showed the customer the damaged part, as they were asking how we knew it was bad. The manager advised the customer while replacing ********************** they could clearly see the part was damaged. They recommended the customer see the dealership or transmission shop for further diagnostic.
Request for refund is declined.
