This involves Just Tires at **** * ********* ***** ****** ** ***** between May 13 (Mon) - May 19 (Sun), 2024.
5/13 I had an oil change and tire rotation (~$100). 5/14, I took the car on the highway and heard loud screeching—metal on concrete/asphalt sounds—which disappeared at lower speeds on local roads. A Just Tires mechanic said it sounded like an oil plate dragging but the front manager insisted it was my brakes, although I was clear I had no issues prior to the Monday oil change and the sound happened only at high speeds and REGARDLESS of braking. (Also, another mechanic elsewhere had seen the car recently and said my brakes had at least another six months in them.)
I took the car back from Just Tires without fixing the sound and drove locally the next few days but went on the highway again Saturday 5/18--again, screeching sounds. Saturday, the Just Tires manager insisted it was the brakes and called Sunday late morning to say again it was brakes which had to be replaced (~$550). This time I agreed. The minute I took the car on the highway Sunday afternoon the screeching started again. A mechanic riding with me said it was the oil plate. Once he fixed it, the sound stopped.
I was told that my car had NEVER been taken onto the highway (although I said twice the sound only happened there, at high speeds). Once everything was fixed, the front manager--one of the two who had insisted my brakes were the problem--told me the oil plate had not been screwed in correctly after Monday's oil change, creating the sound.
Not only this, I contacted Just Tires corporate by phone. For a few hours I was transferred back and forth and given other phone numbers to call--all incorrect, never customer relations. I also emailed at least twice, 6/6 and 6/12, each time waiting the 48 business hours listed on the website. No response.

Hello,
We have reviewed the customer’s claim and have contacted the
Just Tires location who said that they did fix the oil pan cover on customer
vehicle and that it was just a loose screw and they said upon inspection of the
sound customer had inquired about they found that the customer's brakes/rotors did
need to be changed and said they showed this to the customer at that time and brake pads were at left front 4 and 3 and right front 4 and 3 and both rotors left and right were at 1 1/2 measurement. The
customer said that she had went to an independent location who told her that
the brakes should be ok maybe for 6 months but would need to be changed before
state inspection would pass. After speaking with the customer we advised that
the brakes/rotors per the Just tires store did need to be done per their guidelines.
We have forwarded this information over to the district manager and store
manager at the Just tires location.
Thank you,
Goodyear Consumer Service Department

Dear Investigator Wimley and Akron BBB:
This is with regards to Complaint ID ********. I have more information regarding the situation.
First, the corporate office gave me that exact response listed and did not respond to any of my concerns or their branch's actions.
HOWEVER, that branch manager was also contacted and reached out to me. She has offered a partial refund and listened to my concerns about the branch's sale practices. I have yet to receive the check and will alert you when I hear.
Thanks,
******* ****

On May 20, 2024 I had a vehicle 3 year aligned program warranty 4 wheel alignment, Replacement of Small Lamp Parking Tailgate two small bulbs replaced overlooking the license plate, and NC Safety & Emissions conducted on the same day. My salesperson was ***** ***** and Technician was **** *******. After retrieving my vehicle everything appeared fine until I started hearing wires moving around in the car trunk area. Of course, I happened to go in the trunk to see what happened and the technician apparently didn’t secure the replacement parts in the man socket where the light bulbs are supposed to be plugged into a clear bracket in the trunk overseeing the license plate. I recall going in the garage with ***** ***** that day to see which lights were out overlooking the license plates. The Technician **** ******* was present and they both reassured me that they had the bulbs and could install them. However, I had to return to Goodyear, because the bulbs which are secured in a bracket will not attach properly into the bracket that they should remain in to shine over the license plates. A Technician happened to be there when I came and was “Only able to secure one bulb/fixture into the bracket. The counter manager promised that if I bring it back he would allow the main Technician to install it back or replace what is needed at no expense to me for according to him the pieces are plastic and as a car heats up and cools down those plastic pieces break easily over time. I am prepared to take my car tomorrow morning on Monday, June 24, 2024 as he expects his Technician to be available. I’ve been there on Saturday, June 22, 2024 trying to schedule this appointment in which case will take place tomorrow. After discussing this with the counter manager and Inspector on site we came to the conclusion that when they pulled the bracket out and tried to plug the bracket back the plastic piece chipped. I am in hopes to have this repaired/resolved tomorrow morning.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because: I wasn't available to speak with *** from Good Year Tire on Tuesday. However, I tried to reach her on Wednesday, June 26, 2024 approximately 3:20 PM, but the number she left me doesn't connect to her or anybody else for that matter. I sat on the line in cue waiting for someone to pick up the phone. I replied to her email Wednesday, June 26, 2024 and I am waiting to speak with her. On Monday, A technician placed the bulbs and fixture in the bracket, but I wanted to drive it for a couple of days just to make sure this will last. Their technician who attempted to place the bulbs into the bracket chipped the plastic connected to holding the bulb in which may compromise it remaining in the bracket creating a bill for me in the future. It may have been fair to replace those plastic fixtures since it chipped in his hands, before the technician Monday even had a chance to try to plug them in again.Business Response

I delivered my vehicle to the shop on may 28th, and picked it up the afternoon of may 29th.The nature of the dispute is that I was charged for unauthorized work. Specifically a battery test and the replacement of two battery terminals, despite presenting my vehicle with a specific and explicit problem, a bad alternator, which was unrelated to the battery. To my understanding the extra work was not communicated to me until after it had already been done.I paid $424.41 total to retrieve my vehicle, of which $92.72 was for work done without authorization The business has refused to resolve, or even meaningfully acknowledge the problem, arguing that the extra work was necessary (which it was not) while simultaneously ignoring the fact that regardless of supposed necessity, I never asked for or agreed to pay for anything more than an alternator replacement.Invoice: ********** Customer#: **********Business Response

Tech ************************* was rude and abrupt as I arrived trying to turn my vehicle around to pickup my mom who needed a safety check done. I was in a no parking zone. I moved my truck. Went in to have a safety check done. Told by tech ***************** wait time was 1hr. I waited 2 hours. I believe he bypassed my vehicle on purpose and made me wait longer then necessary. People who came in after me left before me. One customer had her safety done and she left before me. I dont know why I was treated differently and I have to question the validity of a light bulb he says I needed changed in order to pass my safety check. Vehicle sat for 15 minutes after it was done, sales guy had to go outside twice to check status of vehicle. Only to find out vehicle light bulb needed to be changed in order to pass the test. Tech never came in to advise. Just parked the vehicle and left salesperson to advise 15 minutes later. Salesperson then requests for light bulb to be done. 30 minutes later Salesman has to go out and check status of light bulb change only to be told there was no order generated. But tech changed the bulb. I am the caretaker of my mother who I have POA over. I question the validity of the bulb not working and the way we were treated. Discrimination comes in many forms. Why bypass our vehicle to service other customers and make us wait longer than necessary? Because you can. Invoice#**********Business Response

I have been trying to settle on the Goodyear credit card since 2022. The company keeps stating to call back in a month. If is now 2024 and I would like to get the issue resolved. The company i s making more money off of me in late fees. I tried to make lump sum payments. For example, once I made a $300 payment and when it was time for me to make the next payment, the rep said that the monies paid went to late fee. Customer ********************** is not good. This company does not appear to want to work with their customers. I am ceased and deceased but the company is still writing and contacting and now through the email. Again the company is refusing to settle the debt. Two, the company is also refusing to issue me a tax form for a write off. I have made every attempt to work with the company. I need to settle and close the account. I need closure.Business Response

Shame on Goodyear tires and Citibank.
They recently conducted a classic Promotion scam.
They offered a 3 month rebate offer:
- a special tire rebate on the purchase of 4 tires, between 1/1/24 and 3/31/24)
PLUS . . .
- an extra $25.00 rebate card if I used a Goodyear credit card.
I immediately registered for a Goodyear credit card from Citibank (1/14/2024).
And, I needed 3 tires. So, I bought 4 (1/22/2024) in order to get both of the offers.
On 1/31/2024 I went on line and filled out the most laborious Rebate Form, for both
rebates.
After waiting for the 6 - 8 weeks, I starting calling about the location of my rebates.
No one could help me until I received a letter, DATED MAY 1st, notifying me that my
request had been declined "for not meeting the Program requirements".
And, that the Promotion cut-off date was 4/30/24. THE DAY BEFORE!
I was dumbfounded since I had completed everything as required.
I contacted Goodyear for an explanation (3 different phone numbers); nobody
could explain it ("call Citibank")
I also contacted Citibank; "call Goodyear".
No one could explain the reason for the rejection.
This went on for another 3 weeks.
Finally, on May 29th, (4 months now), I received the "Explanation":
- My "NEW" credit card was not new. Nobody could explain why not.
- Therefore . . . "Are you Ready"? Filing for the rebate, using my "NEW" credit
card, VOIDED THE ENTIRE PROMOTION.
That's right. Apparently, they had 3 parallel planned rejection plans:
- make up a story about the credit card not being appropriate
- use that story to VOID a perfectly fine Promotion submission
- cancel the entire Promotion. THE DAY BEFORE I receive the rejection notice.
Thereby, eliminating any chance for me to appeal.

Had front end work done on my car and needed an alignment. Took it to Goodyear two times and they said my alignment was good, but yet still I burn up my tires. Bought new ones again and took it to Bailey's rims shop and when they got ready for alignment they showed me broken parts. Sway bar and lower control arm, which means they couldn't have done an alignment because I had more broke parts that needed replaced.Business Response
Date: 06/07/2024
Hello,
After reviewing the documentation and reaching out to the district manager for the Goodyear service center where customer had alignment done on his 2007 Nissan Altima and the parts indicated in the customers documentation are not correct for that vehicle. The Nissan Altima does not have a sway bar only sway bar links and the customer has a Chevy trailblazer as well which is shown on document from WHEELS & TIRE AUTO dated on 5-23-24 and the parts would be something that would be for that type of vehicle and our Goodyear location has no service records for that vehicle. We are unable to approve the customer claim unless the customer has documentation from a certified auto dealer. The district manager for Goodyear has tried to request several times for the customer to come in to the Goodyear location so they were able to look at the vehicle and the customer did not comply and had hung up on the DM. We also contacted Wheels and tires and they were not able to confirm what tires customer had taken off the vehicle on May 23, 24 and they disposed of the old tires per customer request.
Thank you,
Goodyear Consumer Service Department

Disappointed does not even sum up how we feel. My 18 year old had her car towed here as her alternator went out. It happens. She was advised that the radiator had a SMALL leak in the car and at some point when need to get it fixed. So we Paid almost $1200 to have the alternator replaced and went on our way.Drove the car halfway home about 2 miles the car starts to overheat and the engine is smoking. NEVER an issue before. We called Goodyear and was told that if my husband was more involved in her maintenance then it would not have been an issue.First of all if they would have drove the car they would have seen the car now had more issues. They made us pay another $420 to do the radiator saying they told us it needed fixed. Yep you sure did but said it was not urgent. What the h*** happened that my daughters car came back in worse condition and I was blamed for it.If they would have told us that the radiator needed replaced right away we would have had it done. I think what happened is they drained the coolant in the car when chanting the alternator and did not refill it.So my poor girl was out $1600.I feel she was totally taken advantage ofBusiness Response

I brought my truck to Goodyear last Thursday to get 4 tires changed. I provided my own tires. They called me and told me I needed a front end alignment as well. I told them to proceed. I paid and picked up my truck @ 545pm. The tech that worked on my car (wade) I believe his shirt said, came out and told me not to worry about the rear pressure being low it would reset. I drove home and the steering wheel was vibrating awful. This is a 2022 Silverado with 40000 miles. Driven to Florida only. I come out in the am and the rear tire psi dropped even lower. I bring it back the next day, the manager **** tells me to leave it they would get to it on Sunday due to a staff callout. No apologies nothing. My now 3rd time getting a ride there. ***** call me on Sunday night and says my truck is being stubborn. She says my tires wouldn’t sit on the rim and they couldn’t balance them. I asked her what her plan was and she said they had to just piece Mail one at a time. I barely slept I woke up and called and asked for a manager. **** answered and again just kind of brushed it. Zero apologies. I specifically asked him if it would be perfect and he replied YES. I picked it up after the phone call it was good to go. Today we left on our vacation and wouldn’t you know it 1 hour in my tire warning light comes on. 46 pounds. I pull over in Maine and inspect the tire nothing. I find a air pump and when I remove the cap I could hear the air hissing out. I googled town fair tire was nearby so I made it by 10 minutes. Tipped the boys $100 to fix my issue. He had to take the tire off because the stem was no good. With my family in the car. I called Goodyear and demanded the district and regional manager phone number and the manager **** told me he handles things in house. Provided me with nothing. Zero apologies as I’m stranded. Town fair tire also pointed out my nice scratched rim. Brand new truck. With my wife and kids inside. 30 minutes of calling on Saturday no answer.Business Response
